Gyles winthrop lived most his life in a small English town, serving in his latter years a chief mortician. He had always kept to himself being somewhat of a traditionalist wearing far outdated clothes, and others left him alone. He did however marry a beautiful young woman whom brought to him the saddity of having to serve as her coffin maker after her death in an automobile accident. Terribly distressed and somewhat fascinated by death, Gyles took a vacation to America. During his Travels through America he met up with a certain Alak Crow who offered him something to satisfy is afixation for death. After becoming a Vampire Gyles quickly became acostom to his power over darkness and relation to death, thus changing his name to simply Nevermore as acclaimed by his favorite poet Poe in "The Raven." Wanting to know more of the kindred race, Nevermore set out to explore America again, this time from a different point of view. He set up a main haven in San Fransisco while he traveled East remaining Independent in the corse of meeting and learning from different kindered along the way. To deal with his acomadations, He has aquired the service of a now ghoul which resides in the San Fransisco dwelling and manages Nevermore's mortal dealings. Also with Nevermore is a pet Raven which goes around with him. Nevermore was living with a group of sewer dwelling Giovani and Samedi on the East coast when he recieved message that his Sire, Alak, had become arch Bishop of San Fransisco and thus returned to give him aid, drawing him into the realm of the Sabbat.
