| The RPG series from the folks at Capcom is back and better than ever! Breath of Fire III is easily the best in the series, with its lush environs and hand drawn sprites. Also, the sound effects are great, with digitzed voice samples thrown in. The music is a nice jazzy mix that, while different, is perfectly suited to the game's atmosphere. The story is the series standard "Become the best dragon you can and kill the Goddess". Don't let that turn you away, though. Breath of Fire III is a great game with a lot of variety from minigames, and side-quests. Also, this is the first game to introduce the "Master" system, which is kind of like FF6's Esper system, in the fact that you go up X amount of levels, you return to the master, and get your skills, and go on. Also, the inclusion of you own "Fairy Village" with eightstores of your choosing(There's even a music shop where you can get the various songs from the game! ^_^) Unfortunately, the game suffers from Too many random battles(I mean, in some areas, you walk three steps, you get into a fight). Other than that, the game is great. Breath of Fire III gets an 8.3, since it is a great game, but suffers from way too many random battles. |
