If you're looking for a good RPG for a low price, Breath of Fire fits the bill. This game is great. The graphics are clean, the colors are rich, and the sound is surprisingly good for a Super NES game. The storyline is just awesome, and the ability to change into different types of dragon adds strategy and fun to the game. The game IS kind of linear, however, and some of the battles take longer than they should. Also, some of the scenarios are just plain weird... in BOTH ways ^_^ . Even so, the puzzles and characters are well thought out. The character development is great, as well, because each character(except Bo, for some reason) has a small story leading to the character's joining the group. An interesting fact is that this game was made by Capcom and not Squaresoft. Influences of this can be seen throughout the game(like the Chun Li cameo in Bleak). All in all, this is a great game that has a great story. I give this game an 8.4 and highly recommend it to true RPG fans. |
