Harvest Moon 64 is one of the most innovative titles I have seen in a long time. It is one of the few games that take the path of "semi-realism". By semi-realism, I mean the game tries to be realistic and fictional at the same time. There are many good points about this game. For one, The gameplay is great. Also, the music is quite good, if not repetitive, and the story is good, especially with the nonlinear path you can take. Even with its good points' Harvest Moon fails at several points, however. One of these shortcomings is the graphics. The graphics are very simple for an N64 game. Also, the game gets a tad repetitive after you do everyrthing. Even with all of its shortcomings, the game has a lot of events to keep people busy. Also, the game is refreshingly addictive. I gave this game an 8.9 because, even though is is a great game, it leaves a little more to be desired.
