Divine Powers Of The Realm

The realm in AAW has a life of its own. There are bad times and good times. Sometimes wars wipe over the land and sometimes common well-being dominates. There are six different epochs, each of which lasts a random amount of time depending on its nature. The next epoch which comes depends on the current one (it's Markov process if we get in to the theory). Below is a simple picture of epochs and how they are linked to each other. Other interesting phenomena in our realm are the gods, that the epochs are closely related with. The worshippers of a certain god benefit in their favourable era, but also have extra trouble when the wind starts to blow from different direction!

Epochs Of Nature

Here is a short description of epochs

Gods

In our realm there are many different kinds of gods, some of them strong and some of them weak. The strong gods that have a visible effect on the everyday life of their servants are known as:

You start your journey without faith in any of them. During your adventure you can choose your god once. After you have made your choice there is no way back, so it is wise to learn more before making up your mind.

As a follower, you get certain benefits. When sacrificing corpses and other things that pleases your god, the amount of your faith increases. When your faith is strong enough, you can plead your god in need, and he answers to you. Also, if you are a PK player and get continuously attacked your god takes you under his protection.

Each god has his/her own temple where you can carry out services and obtain further strength for your faith! Only true true worshippers may enter, so you don't have to be worried of misbelievers and infidels polluting your meditation!

Bel the Sun God

Great BEL is the sun god, creator of all life to our world. He travels through the vault of heaven in a blazing chariot, every day until the end of our lives, yielding warmth and light to the good and the bad alike.

BEL is worshipped widely among those who live in Brimlan, and belianity is the established religion in the Hyldonian Kingdom. Priests of BEL are also civil servants of the realm, taking care of census, administration, historiography and declaring marriages.

Cernunnos the Horned One

CERNUNNOS the Horned One, often depicted with stag's antlers and carrying a purse full of coins. CERNUNNOS is god of animals, forest and welfare. He also guards the Gate to the Underworld, a place where mortal souls go after death, to wait for rebirth and reincarnation.

The cult of CERNUNNOS has spread widely in our realm and the worshippers of CERNUNNOS are known to sacrifice beasts for their god in order to maintain the wild creatures and the cycles of nature with blood, the holy element of life.

Sometimes a ram-horned serpent Ahaguta is mentioned in the same context with CERNUNNOS. It is believed to be a herald of CERNUNNOS, sent among the living to protect the true believers.

Gaea the Mother Earth

GAEA The Mother Earth, appears in legends as a mature, buxom woman wielding a golden sickle. GAEA is protector of life. Her followers respect nature which, in turn offers its boundies to them. The primary duties of her priesthood are protecting wildlands from the growth of civilization ad ridding the world of such unnatural abominations as the undead and vampires, to name but few. Enormous demi-god beings called titans are often seen as GAEA's allies.

Sadhakas the Morning Star

SADHAKAS The Morning Star is the Ancient Goddess of Evilness. As light casts shadow, so does good and evil go hand in hand. Long time ago She was turned into exile from our Realm, by conspiracy of the other gods. The priesthood of SADHAKAS believe that She returns one day to our World to rule over everything.

To Her worshipper SADHAKAS gives powers and protection over the enemies, but demands absolute obedience. Devoting one's life to SADHAKAS calls for pure malignance and once a pact has been made, you belong to Her, now and forever.

Thorkell the God of War

THORKELL, God of War and Thunder, is often seen as heavily built, bearded fighting lord. The legends tell that He herited the powers of Serpent God Seth before killing him.

THORKELL does not listen to prayers and cannot be pleased with litanies learned by heart. THORKELL gives power to fight and his breavest followers will have a place at his dining table afterlife, when they have been killed in the battlefield.
