Joanne Elizabeth Ezra, "Jeez" in high school and Jo by choice, is a mystery buff whose favorite forms of stress reduction involve running and the nearby shooting range. She's a friendly girl, not the smartest to be sure, but quick and bright.
Jo likes taking things apart and putting them back together and has a knack for repair. A person who works with her hands, she has always been the one to skip reading the instruction manual and dive right in. She'd rather disassemble a broken appliance and try to find out what's wrong than call in an expert. Sometimes this results in having to get a new radio, but more often than not she'll notice the loose wire, broken connection, snapped belt or what-have-you and cheerfully fix it.
She got her job right out of high school; building maintenance is not a particularly glamorous field, but it suits her. Her home is tiny, just enough space for her. The rent is reasonable, so she has the money to spend on her favorite luxuries. She owns a couple of handguns that she uses at the range and a large library of mystery novels.
Normally seen in sweats or a T-shirt and loose jeans, she rarely wears make-up. Her smile is pretty, but her face is strictly average. She keeps her hair braided tight against her scalp and out of her way.
