Wecome To My Mario 64 Tips
And Tricks Page
If you go to "Snowman's Land", you can use your hat as a weapon!!! First of all,
go to the top ledge were the snowman is. Next, go forward and get your hat
blown off. Next, go to the left were there is a tree and stand next to it. You'll
be teleported to another tree! Then, Go away from the tree and come back to
it and you'll be teleported back again! Finally, there should be two hats there!!!!
Go and pick them both up and then you'll be holding your hat!!!!!! The bad thing is
that if you get hit, you'll take 2\3 more damage than before!!!!

For those of you who think getting all the stars in Bob-Omb battle field is
impossible without the wing cap, you're wrong! To get all five hidden places
without the wing cap follow these directions carefully, it won't work if you
don't. First get the cannons. The reach the island in the sky. Then aim for the
center of the first wing circle, You should get three secret spots right away!
Then line up with the top center coin and point the cannon as high as it will
go and fire. If you followed all directions above you should fly through the
last two spots and into the star!!! For the hundred coins get every red coin,
run around the logs defeat every enemy and collect every spare coin, you
should get about 72 give or take a few. Then look to the sky, literally. Go
to the island in the sky and collect the remaining 18 coins. (Give or take
a few.) Congratulations you just finished Bob-Omb Battlefield without
the wing cap.

In Tall, Tall Mountain (located up the spiral stairs and in the tiny
painting with Mushrooms and a mountain on it). First, fly up the
mountain by going to the ledge to the left where the free man is
and jumping off at the very edge! This will take you to the place
with the three bob-bombs in a row and the Big Guy who reminds
you of the Big Bob-bomb in the first level. Take him by the back
and launch him off the cliff. Now go to the wooden bridge and
jump off so that you are in the lake at the bottom. Now go fly
up the mountain again. If you happened to do it EXACTLY right
you will see him falling! If not, you will hear a grunt and
sometimes see coins.
* * * * *
In Course 12 after passing the wind making cloud there are five
coins. Stand by the coins, turn left and walk to the wall. The wall
will move and you can jump in it to find a slide of coins.
* * * * *
When playing the last Bowser run over by one of the spiked
balls and get in back flip position. Then when Bowser charges
double back flip over him and when he's off balance grab his
tail, he will be inches away from the spiked ball for an easy kill.

On Princess Secret Slide there is a short cut when come
out off the tunnel swerve towards the left and jump try
to land on the track below.
* * * * *
When you are big in Level 13, Tiny-Huge Island, distract some
butterflies and hit them. They will turn into bombs that will chase
you for free guys. But the bombs are the shape of cannonballs and
float in the air to chase you.
* * * * *
In the princesses secret slide an easier way to get the second star
(if you haven't already gotten it), is to dive onto (run press B),
the track. If you don't fall off then you should cross the finish in
less than 21 seconds.
* * * * *
In the Tiny Huge Island course, you can collect over 160 coins.
Step on each of the small mushrooms to get a coin. But in the Huge
Island, jump and stomp on the large mushroom and you will get a blue coin.
* * * * *
Course 12 (Tall Tall Mountain) Here's an easier way to
get the sixth star. (Blast Mario to the Lonely Mushroom)
Go to where the monkey is and jump on the fly guy and
spin your way to the lonely mushroom.
* * * * *
When you are in the level were you have to make the sunken ship rise
to the surface of the water you first have to make the ell come out
what you do then is swim towards it and then swim away from it, then
swim towards the ship and swim inside the hole that the ell was in
then you have to open the chests but be careful if you got towards
them the wrong way they will shock you and when you open them the
ship will rise then go to the part were the steps are and get to the
top and get the star their.
* * * * *
In Course 4, (look for the door with the lone star), look down a
little, you will see a door with a 3 on it. Go inside, after you've
jumped in the picture, pick up the little penguin and, before you
crash into the fence whilst sliding on the slope after the first red
coin, jump off for a quick shortcut!!
Real penguins can't fly either!! Mario will safely land in the soft snow!
Give the baby penguin back to it's mother, who will throw a star to
her left. Instead of picking up the star, pick up the baby again, and
the mother will get mad and chase you!

1. In the desert stage near the grey thing with all the goombas under
it you can get up there by doing a U-turn flip and use the turtle
shell to get onto the four pillars.
2. You can get a one up in the secret slide room by getting to the
end of it in 21seconds, but it's hard to do so you can try jumping
off the first rail you see to the left.
3. In the first world of the game if you want a short cut to beat
that stupid turtle you can find a warp by standing in a certain spot
in the hole where the big black balls fly from.
4. To get the caged star in the twomp stage the first tree you see
in the stage has a owl in it which you can grab it and fly to the
star.
5. To get that snow man's head a body first get the snow man's body
to chase you then stand right beside the snow man's head when the
body is still chasing you.
6. If you can't catch the bunny in the basement you can try a dive
jump to get him. And you can also destroy the ghost in the haunted
house by just doing a stomp jump when they get to close.
* * * * *
In the first Ice World. Go down the slide in the chimney and hold
right as you go by the wall. There is a secret wall that you can go
through.
* * * * *
In Rainbow Ride, at the very beginning turn around. You should
see a pole. Do a long-jump, and grab on to the pole. This isn't a
really major secret or anything, but it helps to get the 6 stars
quicker.
* * * * *
In the clock stage, to get the star where you have to jump on the
thwomp, the clock does NOT have to be moving. Go to the platform
under the where the Thwomp is. Do a triple jump to the back wall,
then jump off the wall and grab on to the platform that the Thwomp
is on.
* * * * *
To get the Metal Cap, you must go to the basement then go to the door
with a star on it then go inside there, then go to the chrome pool.
Then go to the left side in to the door. Go up and follow the path.
Don't go in that door! Keep following the path then go up where the
boulders come from. Then go in the door, then swim to the water
serpent. And go on its back then do jump and press Z to make the
serpent to put its head down. Then move Mario to the serpents head
then wait till the serpent goes to a red cage platform and a door.
Go to the inside the chrome pool. And there you are!!!
* * * * *
Every Level contains 8 red coins and at least 100 gold coins. Collect
either one for a star and both for two stars.
For those of you who have trouble beating the first two Bowsers,
here's a helpful tip. Grab him by the tail and line him up with a
bomb. Release him, then pick him up again. Repeat this process until
you blow him away.
* * * * *
In the Hot Lava level, jump in the volcano, (make sure your on star
number 5 or 6) then go over to the lava waterfall and face it. Then
jump into the lava then pull back on the control stick and you'll end
up on the second elevator. Your butt will burn and you'll lose a little
energy but it's a pretty good shortcut and it will save some time!
* * * * *
In Womp's Fortress theres a free man at the bottom of the tower.
You'll see it because it's glowing.
* * * * *
In the Basement, if you catch the rabbit he gives you a star. If you
catch him again when you have 50 stars he gives you another one.
* * * * *
When you get 120 Stars go to the bottom of the lake outside and go
into the cannon, when you shoot to the top of the castle you will
meet Yoshi, he will give you 100 one-up mushrooms and a new special
move. When you triple jump you'll do a cool invincible roll!
* * * * *
To get the special ending, get all 120 stars and pass it without
saving it. This may sound impossible, but it took me 4 hours to do
it, and it works. At the end they all have a party with everyone
in it
* * * * *
You can get into the two black 'windows' in the water-level entry
room by doing a back flip. One contains an extra life, the other a
secret star.

A Ride on the Penguin's Head
In Course 10, Snowman's Land, another cool trick for Mario is his new
way to cross the ice bridge. Use the cannon to launch up to the tree,
then get to the face of the giant snowman. Before crossing the ice
bridge by using the penguin's help (walking at his side), try jumping
on his head instead.
What will happen is that Mario will end up sitting on the penguin's
head, and will avoid the strong gust of wind that normally pushes him off.
Secret of the Blockmen
In Course 2, Chip off Whomp's Block (found in door 1 on the right side
of the castle), there is a cool trick Mario can pull off, but only if
you're really good.
Take Mario up to the mid-section of the castle, where you can find
the two giant guard blocks.
The trick is cool because it looks like a developing mistake, but we
have been assured by Nintendo that it isn't. See those bandages on
the blocks' backs? There's a reason for that. The normal way to beat
these angry blocks is to stand in front of one, wait until he's about
to collapse on Mario, then quickly avoid him, and perform a butt-stomp
on his back. By doing this, gamers will get three coins (also by just
jumping on these guys' backs, Mario gets one coin per jump).
But instead of avoiding the block, aim directly into the center of
the block's face and jump into it (it has to be exact). What will
happen is that Mario will jump straight through the block's face, and
appear unharmed on the other side. This makes collecting coins from
these blockheads a little easier (once you get the hang of it).
Hat Trick
This is probably one of the coolest (if not entirely innocuous) Mario
tricks we've found so far. Go to Snowman's Land (Course 10), which is
located on the second story, up one story, and in the side door with
the red carpet in front of it.
Once you're there, get to the snowman's head, as if you were about to
cross the ice bridge with the big penguin's help. Now, go ahead and
let the snowman's breath blow you off the bridge. You're hat will
fall off. Don't go pick it up -- leave it there!
Lead your hatless Mario past the gray star spot, the small, pop-up
snowman, and toward two pine trees. The second tree of the two is in
the corner, and it's a teleport. Teleport through it. Now step back
and teleport yet again, in fact, do this at least three times.
Once you've teleported a few times, go back to your hat and look at it
carefully. Examine it from all sides. What you'll see is a bunch of
hats stacked up on each other. Slowly approach the hats. Pick up the
one hat and Mario will put it on his head and the other hats will
stay there on the ground! Now, pick up the other hat(s), and Mario
will put the hat in his hand and carry it around with him! He can
whack baddies with it, and he won't put it back on until you either
teleport with him, get a star, or leave the level.
Like we said, it's innocuous, but fun, and it works on both the
Japanese and U.S. versions. One warning: When Mario has his hat in
hand, he will take double damage.
Staircase Weirdness
This one is surely a glitch. Take Mario to the second story (up from
the foyer in the main part of the castle). Enter the door with the
big pudgy star on it. Take about three or four steps, and face the
wall on the left. Face the wall and jump two times. The second time
Mario will slip through the underside of the staircase and appear on
the stairs above.
Big Penguin Race
One of the cool things to do after achieving 120 stars in Super Mario
64 is to go back and look at certain differences in the game. There
aren't many, but we have found a couple.
Go back to Course 4: Cool, Cool Mountain, and before entering, move
the selection cursor over the stars until you reach Big Penguin Race.
Enter into the game, jump into the chimney in the house at the level's
beginning, and you'll meet up with the fattest penguin known to man
(uh, Mario, that is).
It looks like the designers simply took a 3D tool and stretched the
penguin out as far as they could, though it probably took more work
than that.
This trick is good for a laugh, and the race is a little more
difficult as well because when the Penguin gets in front of Mario,
you're more vulnerable to fall off than before.
Mario the Airhead
There are various courses throughout Super Mario 64 in which polygon
glitching occurs. Of them, this one struck us as the best of the
bunch, because we were able to find out Mario's "IQ."
Find any door in the castle and open it. Immediately turn around
and try and go through, and then stop ASAP. Occasionally, the Latiku
Bros. cameraman won't come through with you, or it will come only
partially through. If you do the trick right, and it'll take a few
tries, you'll get an "x-ray" of Matio's skull.
Finally, we were able to see into the mind of the greatest plumber
of all time, which is to say we found very little at all. Mario has
finally been seen for what he truly is, an airhead who's just hot for
the princess. (Just a joke.)
Partial thanks go to David Wonn of Gahanna, OH who's Rabbit Test trick
enabled us to find this glitch.
Rabbit Test
Go to the Basement. Find a door which you can easily go in and out of.
After going through the door, quickly execute a jump kick back at the
door. Usually you'll go through the door completely without opening
it. However, if you time it right, you can "merge" Mario with the
door, i.e. half of Mario will be on one side and the other half will
be on the other side. (This takes a little practice.)
There is a situation in which you can actually do something weird
with this trick. If you manage to find the rabbit in the basement and
catch him, don't collect his star. Instead, carry him to a door and
set him down just in front of it. Now go through the door and try the
jump kick trick until you get Mario "merged" with the door (don't be
surprised if it takes a while to get the timing right). Now pick the
rabbit back up and set him down on the other side of the door. Go
through the door and now you can carry the rabbit though the front
room in the Basement. This trick may be just "for kicks," but it is
kind of fun to do.
Secret Room
After attaining all 120 stars, here's a cool glitchy thing to do just
for kicks. Drop into the cannon and blast onto the roof where Yoshi
is. Grab the winged hat (from the red switch box) and rush back into
the cannon on the ground. Aim toward the middle tower and then aim
the cannon really high at the top of the cloud above it, and blast
toward it. Land on it and walk around to the left side, and Mario
should fall through the wall behind the front door.
Except for one thing, it's black and weird, and it seems he can't get
out. Go through the door first. He will then appear as if he's in the
front lobby. Now, if Mario is facing the door, scoot him over to his
right, and he should be able to walk right through the wall beside the
door. Ah, glitchy madness!
Mario-beque
Did Nintendo actually mean for gamers to have Mario walking around
up here? If so, it sure seems strange that Mario can walk straight
through this pole.
Find this glitch at the end of the game when Mario has earned all
120 stars. Use the cannon to get him here by shooting him nearly
straight up in the air after grabbing the flying hat on the rooftop
near Yoshi. Can you perform a perfect swan dive from the roof into
the pool at the front of the castle?
* * * * *
Eliminate the Piranha Plants by sneaking up on them while there
sleeping and bop them or throwing a wood block at them.
* * * * *
In the begining of the game in which you find the three pictures
of the princess on the wall, go inside the one to the far right to get
either a secret star or a one-up.
To prevent yourself from getting hurt when falling from a cliff,
do a butt-stomp. this will prevent serious damage done to you.
* * * * *
Level 5, half way in lower left corner, hold down for 25 seconds
and you will go to a bonus level and get 67 lives.
* * * * *
On the Big, Big mountain stage, on the second level of the castle, go
to the hidden slide on the side of the mountain. Jump on the slide an
proceed till you come to the first turn...a left. Fall off the edge
to the inside of the turn. Then, Mario will plunge a mile to the
slide below. I don't know if this is a cheat or not, but it is fun
to do.
* * * * *
1) When you get enough stars a light will shine on the sun on the floor
in the main hall, look up and you will be at the red square button
stage.
2) When you get the first key from Bowser go downstairs and open the
door, then go to the room with two pillars and stomp them down,
letting the water level down. Then go outside and go to the hole in
the bricks and stomp on the blue brick button in the stage you find.
3) The green stomp block is in the oil pool level in the basement of
the castle. Use the beast in the cavern to find it.
4) One more, okay, when you get enough stars a rabbit will appear,
catch him and you'll get a secret star. Also, remember to always
talk to the mushroom guys, even more than once.
* * * * *
When first entering the castle walk Mario to the middle of the sun
shaped tile in the middle of the floor. The sun will be shining down
on him from a hole in the ceiling. Push the up yellow button once
or twice to get into the view around mode. Then simply make Mario
look up into the sun for a cool secret.
When in the main picture room with of the sunk ship world look around
there in the view mode too. You should find two square black entrances
at the top of two walls on the opposite sides of the room, try both
of them for some freebies.
* * * * *
Enter the princess slide, get under 21 seconds and get a star.
After 120 stars there is a cannon outside of the castle shoot to the
top of the roof yoshie will meet you there and he gives you 100 men.
Then take the wings and explore.
After 120 stars go back to stage 3 and give the lil' pengiun back to
the mom and get the blue star, then re-enter the level and fall down
the chimney, and re-race the new pegiun.
* * * * *
1) To get red switch go into the castle stand on the sun. Press up,
up on the C button and look for a sun.
2) To get the blue switch go to the right of the 6th level go down the
stairs and stomp on the two pillars. The water will drain, go out of
the door and go right to a hole. Go down the hole.
3) In course 3 there is a slide go don it until you reach what looks
like a half pike. Follow the coins that go diagonal into a "secret
slide". You will get 3 1-ups.
4) To get 120 stars you have to get 6 stars in the 15 courses, 100
coins in the levels and 10 or more secret stars.
5) In Bower #3 there is a 1-up behind one of the pillars.
* * * * *
When fighting Bowser for the second time, instead of waiting for him
to charge, just keep running around him until he stops and breathes
fire. But the best time to grab him is when he breathes fire 3 times.
That will give you plenty of time to throw him.
* * * * *
When you get 120 starts after seeing Yoshi, grab your wings and get
in the cannon and blast yourself into the second highest plank. Then
run to the wall and you will fall through it, you will be in a weird
room, CAN YOU GET OUT?
* * * * *
In Stage 1-first star (Big Bob-Omb on the Summat), grab a wing cap
and shoot yourself with cannons to meet the big bomb. DO NOT LET
YOUR WING CAP RUN OUT!! Talk to him and then run away and go
through the warp. Now your wing cap will wear off but the wing
cap music won't go away until you warp again.
* * * * *
In Coarse 10 do a double jump on the puinguins head for a easy
way across the bridge. If you want to hit your enemies with your
hat in Coarse 8 or 10 just lose your cap, go to the telepots and
teleport back a forth. Go Back to your cap, you'll see there is
many just get one and get the rest you will now hit your enemies
with the cap. The teleports are under trees.
* * * * *
I'm missing the 120th Star! Where is it?
While standing anywhere in the Castle, pause your game, then press Up
or Down on the Control Stick to scroll between the courses you've
completed. Each course you've visited will be displayed with six
Stars and the maximum amount of coins you've located in that course.
A white Star indicates that you've found the Star, but a clear Star
indicates you haven't. If you see any clear Stars, go to that course
and complete the necessary Star objective. If a Star doesn't appear
next to the coin total, then you either haven't collected 100 coins
in that course or you forgot to collect the seventh Star when you did.
The pause screen will also indicate how many Castle Secret Stars
you've located. There's a total of 15 Secret Stars. The most commonly
missed one is in the Princess's Secret Slide. Don't be fooled if you
only found one Star in this course, because there's actually two.
What do I do in the room that has two short pillars in the water?
The sign on the wall reads, "It is decreed that one shall pound the
pillars." If you Stomp on each pillar, you will drain the water out
of the room, which reveals a door that leads to the moat that
surrounds the Castle. Go through the door, then follow the path to
the right and jump in the hole to locate the Vanish Cap Course.
In the basement, there's a solid transparent blue wall with a
door behind it. How do I get to that door?
This door is more of an exit than an entrance. To get to the other
side of this door, turn around and explore the cellars until you
locate a door that leads you to a room with two pillars surrounded by
water. Enter the door near the two pillars to come out of the door
next to the transparent blue wall.
Note: If you run under the wall, then jump in the air, you can Dive to
the door behind the blue wall. This may take some practice.
How do I get up the endless stairs?
In order to reach the top of the endless stairs, you will need 70
Stars. The sign next to the Big Star Door reads, "To open the door
that leads to the 'endless' stairs, you need 70 Stars. Bwa ha ha!"
This sign is somewhat misleading, because you can open the Big Star
Door if you have less than 70 Stars, but the stairs will never
end--hence the name, "endless stairs."
Is there anything special to do in the courtyard behind the Castle?
At the beginning of the game, there's not much you can do, except read
all the signs for some good hints. After you collect at least 14 Stars,
the courtyard will fill up with Boo-Buddies. Defeat the Big Boo-Buddy
to locate the entrance to Course 5: Big Boo's Haunt.
How can I go through the door that's in the moat that surrounds the Castle?
You cannot enter the door if there's still water in the moat. In
order to drain the moat, you need to have found the Big Key. Use the
key to unlock the door to the Castle's basement, then explore the
sewers for a room that is filled with water and has two pillars in it.
If you Stomp on each pillar, you will drain the water out of the room,
which reveals a door that leads to the moat that surrounds the Castle.
Once the water has been drained from the moat, go through the door,
then follow the path to the right and jump in the hole to locate the
Vanish Cap Course.
How do I enter the small square grate that is underwater near the
waterfall?
You cannot enter the grate if there's still water in the moat. In
order to drain the moat, you need to have found the Big Key. Use the
key to unlock the door to the Castle's basement, then explore the
sewers for a room that is filled with water and has two pillars in it.
If you Stomp on each pillar, you will drain the water out of the room,
which reveals a door that leads to the moat that surrounds the Castle.
Once the water has been drained from the moat, go through the door,
then follow the path to the right and jump in the hole to locate the
Vanish Cap Course.
I lost my cap! How do I get it back?
There are only three places that you can lose your cap. Fortunately,
you can always re-enter the course you lost the cap in and get it back.
Course 8: Shifting Sand Land
If the Big Bird gets too close, it will take Mario's cap. In order to
get it back, you must jump into the bird as it flies by. If you exit
the course without the cap, you can always re-enter later and get it
back from the bird.
Course 10: Snowman's Land
If the giant Snowman on the top of the mountain blows you off the
side, you'll lose your cap. Search the area around the ice building
to get it back. If you can't find it, re-enter the course, then walk
around until you see a Spinning Snowman wearing it. Slowly walk
around the Snowman until it falls over, then grab your cap.
Course 12: Tall Tall Mountain
If you get too close to the small cloud on the mountain, it will blow
you and your cap of the side. To get your cap back, climb back up the
mountain and take it from the monkey.†
Note: When Mario is not wearing his cap, he takes more damage than usual.
The Princess's Secret Slide
Requires at least 1 Star to enter.
From the entrance of the Castle, climb up the stairs in the center of
the room, then go to the right and enter the door that has picture of
a star with the number one on it. You'll appear in a small room with
stained-glass windows that have pictures of the Princess on them.
Jump into the far right window to enter the course.
You can earn two Stars in this course. If you make it to the bottom
of the slide, you will automatically earn one Star. If you make it to
the bottom of the slide in 20.9 seconds or less, you'll receive a
second Star. In order to achieve a faster time, you will need to jump
head first onto the slide, then hold forward on the Control Stick the
whole way down. Also, try not to bump into any of the walls, because
they can slow you down.
The Secret Aquarium
Requires at least 3 Stars to locate.
Jump into the black opening that is to the right of the Course 3
entrance (the picture of the sunken ship). Swim around the room and
collect all eight Red Coins. There are four Red Coins on the floor
of the aquarium and four Red Coins floating near the top of the
aquarium. After you collect all eight Red Coins, the Star will
appear at the bottom center of the room.
Wing Mario over the Rainbow
Requires at least 50 Stars to locate.
On the far-left side of the Castle's third floor. Go to the left of
the giant clock and enter the large square opening in the wall, then
drop down into the hole. There are eight Red Coins scattered
throughout the course. Seven of the Red Coins can be obtained by
flying from cloud to cloud. One Red Coin can be obtained by shooting
yourself out of a Cannon, then dropping down onto it. After obtaining
all eight Red Coins, the Star will appear on the cloud where you
began the course. Because it's nearly impossible to give directions
through this course, you'll have to explore on your own. The key to
success is skilled flying techniques and a lot of practice. If you
fall out of this course, you will not lose a life, but you will end
up outside in front of the Castle.
This shows you how many of each item you can get at each level.

In Course 11, you can raise or lower the starting water level in
this course by how high you jump into the picture. There are 3
distinct levels. If you jump into the picture very low, the water
level will start almost on the ground. If you jump in around the
center of the picture, the water level will start at mid level. If
you jump in above the center of the picture, the water level will
start higher than you can actually set it in the level... This makes
getting to the pink bomb guy a piece of cake!! The easiest way to
jump into the picture above the center is to stand two checkerboard
floor tiles away from the picture and do a backflip into it... (double
jump, triple jump, and turnaround flip also work)
To change the obstacle speed on Course 14, try this. For slower
obstacles, enter when the minute hand is on 3. To stop them
completely, enter when the minute hand is on 12. For the more
ambitious, enter when the minute hand is on 6 for a greater
challenge, or 9 for the ride of your life!
To find some extra lives on the Ice stage:
1. On the first Ice stage, begin your slide.
2. On the first left turn, head for the row of Coins.
3. You'll slide into a tunnel that holds 2 extra lives.
When you get 120 stars return to Cool Mountain for a
rematch with the penguin. If you thought he was big then you'll
be in for a surprise.
To improve your time on the Red Sliding level:
1. Enter the Red Sliding level.
2. Jump to the left as soon as you exit the tunnel.
3. With a little practice you can land on the later part of the
course, saving you valuable time. Complete the course in under
21 seconds to receive a Star.
This shortcut works in the ice/blue sliding level.
1. Pass the first two turns
2. Do not turn at the third turn
3. Let yourself fall slightly to the left
When fighting bowser for the third time, if you get killed
you can keep getting a 1-Up by walking behind the top left pillar.
Warps
Warps are areas that if you stand still in them, you will be transported
to another location in the level. If you want to reuse the same warp, all
you need to do is jump, or walk off the warp spot and then walk back.
Warp 1a will take you to warp 1b, warp 1b will take you to warp 1a,
warp 2a will take you to warp 2b, warp 2b will take you to warp 2a, etc...
Course 1
Warp 1a: From where you start, as soon as you cross the brown
bridge, jump over the fence to the right. The warp is in the center
of the yellow flower bed.
Warp 1b: When you cross the bridge that tilts, climb up the stairs,
and keep going straight and to the left of the black bomb guys. The
warp is in the center of the yellow flower bed near the red ! box.
Warp 2a and 2b: As you are climbing up the mountain, you will
notice that the black rolling balls come out of the holes in the side
of the mountain. There is a warp in the center of both holes... one
takes you to the other, and vice-versa.
Course 2
Warp 1a: In the corner next to the only green ! block on the level.
(near the big blue puffy stomping guys)
Warp 1b: (Click here for pictures) In the corner of the platform
with the flagpole that extends up into the sky.
Course 4
Warp 1a: When you start the level, go around to the right, the
warp is on the edge of the broken bridge.
Warp 1b: At the bottom of the level from the pool with the large
penguin in it, go right. The warp is at the edge of the broken
bridge under the mountain.
Course 7
Warp 1a: From the start of the level, there is an island behind
you across the fire. It has a red ! block on it... The warp is in
the center of that island.
Warp 1b: There is a platform near where you start with an
eyeball on it. Underneath him is a hole in the grating. The
warp is in the hole.
Course 8
Warp 1a: There is a palm tree next to a pool of water near
where the vulture is flying. The warp is at the bottom of the
tree in the tree's shadow.
Warp 1b: In the corner of the entire level where the cannon is,
(on the section with the large cubes), the ground is divided into
squares. The warp is in the center of the 4th square down from
the cannon. (Stand at the cannon, and face the pyramid, then
turn left, then go down 4 squares and stand in the center)
Course 10
Warp 1a: In the shadow of the tree in the corner of the entire
level.
Warp 1b: In the shadow of the tree just before the island with the
moving triangles on it.
Course 11
Warp 1a: The water level must be all the way down in order to use
this warp... On the ground there is a white structure made up of
3 steps. On the second step, there is a spinning black ball that will
shock you if you touch it. On the third step there is a diamond
that will raise the water level. The warp is on the ground (you
will be standing in the water) in the corner of the smallest step
and the largest step.
Warp 1b: In the corner on the platform with the cannon. If you are
standing on the ramp up to the cannon facing the cannon, the warp
is in the farthest corner on the left.
Course 12
Warp 1a: In the chasm with the mushroom platforms with the red
coins on them, there are 2 very small platforms with no coin on them
next to each other. The warp is on the small platform closest to the
center of the chasm.
Warp 1b: At the other end of the path with the cannon on this
level, there is a square area with a sign on it. The warp is in the
corner against the two mountain walls.
Course 13
Warp 1a: When you are Big Mario, there is a flat ! switch on
the ground that will make a temporary bridge appear that will
lead out to a square island in the air. In the corner of the island
with the gold coin is the warp.
Warp 1b: Unfortunately, this is only a one-way warp... when you
take warp 1a, you will appear next to the pipe near the flat !
switch mentioned in warp 1a. (So there is really no warp 1b)
Course 15
Warp 1a: Outside on the edge of the platform leading into the
castle up in the sky. (Directly across from the fireplace)
Warp 1b: (Click here for pictures) In the center on top of the
rectangular building with all the red coins and the pink bomb guy.
Bowser in the Dark World
After earning at least eight Stars, enter the Big Star Door on the
first floor of the Castle, then walk forward until the floor opens
up. Drop into the pit to enter the course. If you follow the one-way
path to the end of the course, you will locate a green pipe. Jump into
the pipe, then defeat Bowser to obtain the Big Key.
Collect the eight Red Coins to earn a Star (this is the recommended
order to collect the coins).
One is suspended in mid-air to the right of where you begin the
course. To obtain the coin, you will need to follow the path forward
to the Purple Exclamation Switch, then jump on the switch to create
some wooden crates under the Red Coin. Quickly return to the entrance
of the course and collect the Red Coin before the wooden crates disappear.
One is suspended in mid-air to the right of the first flame thrower.
To obtain the coin, jump on the Purple Exclamation Switch, then walk
on the wooden crate and collect the Red Coin.
One is located next to the crystal on the path with the electric
spheres.
One is located behind the concrete block with the moving yellow platform.
One is located next to the four moving platforms.
One is located on the octagon-shaped platform. One is located on the
ledge next to the two unstable wooden platforms. One is located on top
of the stone structure above the two wooden platforms. The Star will
appear behind the green pipe at the end of the course.
Bowser in the Fire Sea
After earning at least 30 Stars, enter the Big Star Door in the
basement of the Castle, then walk forward and enter the water wall to
discover Course 9. If you locate the first Star in Course 9, the water
wall will move back and reveal the entrance to Bowser in the Fire Sea.
If you follow the one-way path to the end of the course, you will
locate a group of light blue rings with a clear yellow star in the
center. Jump into the rings, then defeat Bowser to obtain the Big Key.
One Red Coin is located above the wire net near the entrance of the
course. From where you begin this course, ride the wire net cage to
the end of the lava path, then continue past the sinking platforms
until you reach the Bully. Follow the wire net path to the left until
you reach the Red Coin.
Another Red Coin is located on the first unstable stone platform.
There's no trick to obtaining this Red Coin. You'll see it as soon as
you reach the two unstable stone platforms that spin around.
Another Red Coin is located inside the cage next to the elevator lift.
Just after the two unstable stone platforms, there is a pole that you
can climb to reach a small enclosed cage with an elevator lift. The
Red Coin is in the upper corner of the cage.
Another Red Coin is located below the elevator lift that takes you up
the wire net shaft. Just after the two unstable stone platforms,
there is a elevator lift that will take you up to the second level of
the course. If you walk onto the elevator left, then immediately walk
off of it, you will see the Red Coin. Jump out to the coin to obtain it.
Another Red Coin is located on the octagon-shaped platform with the
Bully on it. After riding the elevator lift up to the second level,
follow that path to the first incline, then go to the right and walk
up the yellow path with the traction pads on it. Once at the top of
the octagon-shaped platform, avoid the Bully and collect the Red Coin.
Another Red Coin is located on the path above the two Bullies. On the
second level of this course, there's a group of platforms that slowly
rises up, then sinks down like an accordion. The Red Coin is located
on the third platform, but you will have to wait for the platform to
rise to its highest position before you can grab it.
Another Red Coin is located next to the flame thrower on the lava
covered path. Just after you pass the accordion-like platforms, you'll
reach a lava area that has six convex-shaped platforms that
temporarily sink under the lava. When it's safe, run in front of the
second flame thrower to obtain the Red Coin.
Another Red Coin is located above the pole at the end of the course.
There's no trick to finding this Red Coin. Just before you reach the
end of the course, the coin will be suspended in the air above the
very last pole. Jump onto the pole, then wait for it to move you up to
the coin. The Star will appear on top of the brick structure near the
end of the course. To reach the Star, return to the second pole near
the beginning of the brick structure, then use the Wall-Jump
technique to reach the upper area.
Bowser in the Sky
After earning at least 70 Stars, enter the Big Star Door on the third
floor of the Castle, then walk up the "never-ending" stairs and jump
into the hole to enter the course. If you follow the one-way path to
the end of the course, you will locate a green pipe. Jump into the
pipe, then defeat Bowser to obtain the win the game.
Collect the eight Red Coins to earn a Star
One is located above the box near the entrance of the course.
From where you begin this course, go forward until you reach a large
box. Push the box towards to entrance of the course, then jump up on
the box and collect the coin.
One is located near the Piranha Plant on the stone path. There's no
trick to getting this Red Coin. It's located on the stone path that
is just after the first spinning octagon-shaped platform. Be careful
not to get toasted by the Piranha Plant.
One is located on a tiny ledge underneath the unstable wooden platform.
When you reach the unstable wooden platform, drop down to the lower
level, then collect the Red Coin that is on the tiny ledge. The ledge
is just barely hanging off the side of the lower level.
One is located at the top of the light-blue/green traction path.
There's no trick to obtaining this Red Coin. As soon as you reach the
top of the large traction path with dots on it, you'll see the Red
Coin. Jump up and get it.
One is located above the wooden platform near the red and white
platform. Near the top of the course, you'll find a white and red
platform with an arrow on it. If you jump on the platform, it will
move you to the other side of the gap. As you move across the gap,
you'll see the Red Coin above a wooden platform. When the moving
platform is passing under the wooden platform, jump up and grab the
Red Coin, then safely slide back onto the moving platform.
One is located on the first spinning octagon-shaped platform. There's
no trick to obtaining this Red Coin. As soon as you pass the red and
white moving platform, you'll see the Red Coin on the center of
spinning octagon-shaped platform. Walk to the center of the platform
and collect the Red Coin.
One is located above a pole in-between two moving platforms. There's
no trick to obtaining this Red Coin. Just after passing the two
spinning octagon-shaped platforms, you'll climb a pole up to a wire
net. Once at the top of the net, follow the path to the two moving
platforms, then jump on the pole that's in-between them. Climb to the
top of the pole to collect the Red Coin.
One is located underneath the stairs at the very end of the course.
Once at the very top of the course, you'll have to climb some stairs
to reach the pipe that takes you to Bowser. If you look under these
stairs, you'll notice a platform. Jump on the platform, then walk
under the stairs and collect the Red Coin.
The Star will appear at the very end of the course.
Tricks
Here is a glitch that makes fighting bowser easier. In any of the bowser levels
grab bowser by the tail, and without throwing him, release him. The next thing
you should do is run right in front of him. At the instant that he is about to
attack press B. Bowser's tail will now be in your hands.

This isn't really a code, tip or a password, but it's actually weird. When you
have 120 stars, Go to level 3 (Jolly Roger Bay). Select star 1 (Plunder into
the Sunken Ship) and swim towards the ship. Enter it and open the chests in
the right order to drain the water. DO NOT COLLECT THE STAR IN THE BOX!
Stand right in front of the steps to the star in the box. Turn around 90
degrees to face the chests. Then run around all the 4 chests (not around EACH)
clockwise once, then counterclockwise the other way once. (This is then part
that's WEIRD) Pound (butt-slam) the chest nearest you. Then stand in front of
the steps as before. If this works, you'll see a little "o" cloud floating in the
air. It seems to be rising up or moving. If it disappears, or you don't see it,
turn to the right slowly and there it is! Once again, I got it accidentally. It's
weird as the black room weirdness.
* * * * *
I found a way to get underneath the cannon. All you have to do is stand really
close to the edge of any cannon without falling in. Then punch and you can walk
around underneath a cannon.

"THE DANCE ON AIR"
1. Go to Rainbow Road.
2. Get 99 coins.
3. Make the 100th coin that you get have no ground underneath it. For example,
a coin on one of the carpet rides.
4. The star that appears shouldn't have anything except air all the way down.
5. Jump at the star.
6. Just before you fall out of the level, Mario will suddenly rocket back up and
do his dance. After the dance you can here Mario screaming in the background,
and you fall out of the level!

Enter the castle. Enter one of the two wooden doors that lead to the back yard.
Notice that Boo is floating there. Chase him in to the garden then turn around
and re-enter the castle. Turn around again and standing the right corner facing
the wall that the door is on. use "Mario's View" ( C Up until you can control the
view with the analog stick.), and turn the view until you can see around the
wall. You should see nothing but blackness. Enter the basement. Turn around
and re enter the castle( first floor). Go into the room with Whomp's Castle
picture and slowly walk along the left hand wall until you hear Boo chatter.
Go back in the wooden door toward the back yard BUT DO NOT ENTER THE BACK
YARD. stand in the same corner as before( the right side corner facing the wall
with the door on it.) use "Mario's View" and look around the wall again and Boo
will be there. By punching different walls on the first floor you can make him
move and turn. To re-set this trick leave the first floor and re-enter.
* * * * *
Ok start a new game, do not touch the grey bridge leading you too the
front door of the castle. Instead go way over to the right side of the
castle and do what's necessary to get on top of the castle. Then go to
the front center of the castle, remember this is up on the roof. Then
get to the edge as much as possible. then slowly jump off then do a
kick back before you reach the ground, but close enough so you land
on the red carpet. Then wants you do that you will see Lakita just
sitting there. you can walk right through him too.
* * * * *
Get on top of the steeple and do a triple jump (make sure you have
the wing cap) if you do it right you will land on the little ledge
then wait until the wing cap goes away then jump and dive into
the wall if you do it right you will land in a black room go through
the door and then walk through the wall at the left of the door you
will get out of the room.
* * * * *
After reading the tip on torturing Mario, I found another place in
the game where it works even better. Go to shifting sands level.
Go to where the cannon is and get the wing cap, then go into the
cannon and point it all the way to the left and all the way up. You'll
take damage and land in the cannon again. Do it again so that you have
no life. Now you can shoot out of the cannon and fly around even though
your dead. As long as you don't land your ok. Collecting coins won't
give you any life and you can't get any stars. If you go in the pyramid
you'll die when you touch the ground.
Another really good trick is to go to the second snow level, the one
with the giant snowman. Get blown off the ledge by the snowman.
This will make your hat fly off. Don't pick your hat up just yet,
instead, go to the tree with the warp under it. It warps you to
another tree. Now warp back to the first tree. Go pick up your hat
now. There should be 2 hats on top of each other. After you put the
first one on you can pick up the second one BUT he won't put it on
his head. He will just hold it in his hand. As long as you don't leave
the level, get a star, warp under the tree, or go into the igloo you'll
keep holding the your hat. There won't be a hat on your head anymore
so you'll take more damage. You can shoot out of the cannon while
holding your hat. Every time you warp, after your hats blown off,
one more hat will appear on top of the others so you can pick up 20
hats if you wanted. This trick also works on shifting sands. Let
the bird take your hat. Hit the bird so that he drops the hat but
don't pick it up yet. Go under the palm tree and warp, then warp
back again. Get the hat, have fun. I'm trying to get this to work on the
Tall, Tall Mountain level but the cloud blows the cap off the mountain
and the trick won't work if the monkey has it on his head.
Another trick is to get your hat blown off by the big snowman.
Don't pick your hat up at all. Get a star instead and exit the level.
Turn the N64 off and back on. Go back to that level and one of the
little snowmen that pops of the ground will be wearing your hat.
I had lost my hat this way one time and it took me a week
to find where it was.
One last thing. This is a modified version of another trick. Go to
Bob-Omb Battlefield level and choose Footrace with Koopa the
Quick. Get the wing cap and get Koopa in your sight The trick is,
Koopa talks to you if you get to close to him, so do the triple jump
BUT make sure your last jump, before you take off, is right next
to him. Now fly into the cannon right by where you start. It helps
if you hit the Z button when your right on top of the cannon hole.
Now take off and head for the top of the mountain where the flag
is at. If you did the trick right, Koopa will start talking to you even
though your on the mountain. Start the race and you'll finish it in
0'00"0 seconds. That's quick. Koopa will never finish the race,
he'll just disappear and for the rest of the time your on the level
it will play the racing music unless you get the wing cap. If you
have trouble getting all the way to the top of the mountain from
the first cannon you can fly into the cannon on the floating island
for another boost.
* * * * *
After getting 120 stars shoot yourself to the top of the castle.
Get the flying cap and quickly fly back into the cannon. Aim to
the tip top off the castle and shoot. If done right you will land
on the center tower. Slowly walk through the wall and if done
right you will fall through the tower landing behind the front door.
you will be inside the castle and only see outside. If you walk
through the door you will be outside and only see inside. To get
out of this weird place walk around the door to get to the outside
of the castle. This trick takes some practice and it does not always
work but after a while of practicing you will be able to do it every time.

Heres how you sky surf.
1) Go to little big world (or what ever its called).
2) Go to the small version.
3) Get the turtle shell on the beach.
4) Surf across the water to the cannon.
5) Keep going and when you reach the edge JUMP! on the small island.
6) When you get to the edge of the island in the sky jump again. You
will be sky surfing.
* * * * *
Shoot yourself to the top of the castle, and go to the back right
corner and slowly walk off the edge. Mario should fall off but
still hang on to the edge of the castle. Pull yourself up and
Mario's hat should disappear and you will die.
* * * * *
In Level 1, Second Star, get the Wing Cap, then race Koopa to the top,
but use the warp. Continue racing until he comes and gives you the star.
The Wing Cap music will be on even if you don't have the Wing Cap
(don't warp)!
* * * * *
At the last fight with Bowser, go to the spinning things after the
teeter-toter. Do a back flip when you go up and you are halfway there!
* * * * *
In Jolly Roger Bay, walk to the sand right in the water. If your lucky,
when you jump, the fish will jump also.
The easiest way to get to get to Wigglers Basemen (Tiny Huge Island),
go to tiny mode and go to the long barge of sand. Get the turtle shell
and go up the hill to the basement.
In Bomb-Omb Battle Field, when racing Koopa the Quick, get the Wing
Cap and go the cannon behind Koopa. Don't go into the cannon, just
stand next to it. Run towards Koopa and right before you reach him,
fly and land a little way's away from him. When you land you'll see
the box of letters and hear the music but Koopa will be gone!
* * * * *
Go into the castle and up the stairs. Now go inside the door that
is right in front of you. Run toward the spiral staircase but stop
a few feet from it. There should be a gray pole type thing on the
left. Get against the wall on your left a few feet from it. Now jump
2 times. You should go through the top and be on a higher part of
the staircase.

Here's a trick on the one with the Mama Penguin. Bring the baby
penguin to her and she'll give you a star. Instead of taking the star,
grab the penguin. When mama chases you, throw the baby penguin
off the cliff. Mama will follow the kid of the cliff.

In the clock stage right before you go in, wait for the minute hand
to be on 12, and go in the clock. If you do this correctly all the
gears will have stopped. Also, if you wait for the minute hand to be
on 6 and go in, the gears will go really fast in different directions.

You have probably found all 120 stars by now, right? Are you looking
for something really fun and new to do, instead of all the cool levels
over and over again? Try this. Mario is really great at diving into
the water!!! In the intro "level", find the 3 meter board (the wooden
bridge). Can you do the following dives?
Far Jump - run towards the water, then press Z, then A.
Simple Dive - run towards the water, as soon as you run off, press B.
High Dive - go to opposite end of the bridge, turn around, jump
once straight towards the water, but don't fall down. Now do the
second, higher jump, off the bridge, and at the height of this jump,
press B.
High Long Dive - go to opposite end of the bridge, turn around,
jump once straight up, the second time, with the higher jump
towards the water, but don't fall off. Now, on your third, really
high jump, press B & A at the same time.
Single Forward Flip Smash - Jump over the water and press Z.
Single Forward Flip Dive - Before talking to Yoshi, go to
opposite end of the bridge, turn around, jump once straight
up, the second time, with the higher jump towards the water,
but don't fall off. Now, do your third, high jump, off the bridge,
let Mario do one flip, then press B.
Double Forward Flip Smash - Follow the above steps, but instead
of pressing B, press Z.
Double Forward Flip Dive - Follow the above steps, but let Mario
flip twice before pressing B.
Triple Forward Flip Smash - Follow the above steps, and let Mario
flip twice, then press Z.
Single Backward, Forward Flip Smash - Go to the end of the bridge
over the water, with your back facing the water. Now, hold Z, then
press A. Press in the direction of the water, and let Mario do one
single backflip. Now press Z for the forward flip.
Double Backward, Single Forward Flip Smash - Follow the above
steps, but let Mario do two backflips before pressing Z.
Butt Bomb - run towards the water, and press Z, then B.
180* Dive - run away from the water, quickly press back towards
the water, and press B & A at the same time.
Belly Flop - works best with the 180o Dive...run away from the
water, back towards the water, and press A. When you are about
1 meter above the water, press B.
Multi-Forward Flip Dive - after talking to Yoshi, follow the steps
for the Double Forward Flip Dive, but press B after as many flips
as you want.
The 20 meter board is harder. Shoot yourself onto the castle with
the cannon. Now, running towards the water, you'll see a tower in
your way. This is the famous 20 meter board. It'll take practice,
but try these jumps...
Far Cliff Jump - run up the tower. Before falling off, press Z, then A.
Cliff Dive - run towards the tower. Do the three jumps, make sure
the second jump is right before the tower, and on your third jump,
press B and A at the same time.
Single Forward Flip Cliff Dive - Follow the above steps, but only
press A instead of B & A. After one flip, press B.
Double Forward Flip Cliff Dive - Follow the above steps, but let
Mario do two flips before pressing B.
Multi-Forward Flip Cliff Dive - Follow the above steps, but talk to
Yoshi first, and press B after the number of flips you want.
Double Forward Flip Stunt Cliff Dive - Follow the steps for the
Double Forward Flip Cliff Dive, but aim for under the bridge.
Right when you get below it, press B.
Multi Forward Flip Stunt Cliff Dive - Above steps, but talk to Yoshi first.
Sky Dive - On the top of the tower, make sure you are looking right
between the tree nearest to the water (the one on the very left), and
the wooden bridge. You may have to play around with the camera
in order to do this, but DO IT. Now, run straight ahead (towards
where you are looking) for approximately 1 second. Press A, and
a half a second later, B, press forward, and start praying!!! If you
do it right, and after a little practice, Mario will dive, and fall for
about 4-5 seconds, and dive right into the pool.
Suicide Jump/Dive - Follow the above steps, but don't aim for the water.
Far Jump - Follow the above steps, but instead of pressing A, press Z
and then A.
Heaven's Dive - Follow the above steps to get to the top of the world,
but make sure you still have the red cap on. Now jump three times
(only works if you're looking downhill), fly above the pond, and after
the cap wears out (it wears out after exactly 60 seconds of use), press B.
Heaven's Crash - Fly above the pond, like said above, but after the
cap wears out, press Z.

Here's another cool dive. Do a back flip ( Press Z and jump)
off the board (bridge) and as soon as you have flipped, press
Z before you hit the water and you will have done it! this
trick is best done when there is water in the moat.

This is a tip to get to the top of the castle and perform the
ultimate dive.
First, after you have gotten 120 stars, and talked to Yoshi, grab the
winged cap and hop in the cannon.
Second, Then aim, so all you have in the view is the brown top of the
castle, and fire.
Third, Hold down to put yourself at the peak of your flight. then push
up on the stick and then down leveling yourself and landing on the
deck before the top peak, immediately push A.
Fourth, you should be directly above the stained window of peach.
That is the first side, one of them, you can walk up, taking you to
the very top. Now do run just after you go over the peak jump and
press B aiming yourself to the water.
* * * * *
After you get 120 stars blast on the roof and go to the end
of the castle (opposite of the cannon and pond) you will run
into a invisible wall, press the "up" C button and ,on the
joystick, turn it to your left or right and press B. You
will see the front yard, except you're looking inside the
castle.
* * * * *
Okay first you have to have 120 stars (no big deal
right?!) then blast to the top of the castle (ka blewy)
then walk to the front of the castle and go to the area
where the castle juts out, the area above the picture of
Peach. Now look down a little and you should be really
BIGGGGGG
Okay first you need all the caps accessible then go to any
stage and jump on the cap box (kinda hard at first) the look
SLIGHTLY down and you should be (a little) bigger!!!
PART 1-This is WEIRD, first you need nothing then
to go almost all the way next to the tree but
take a FEW steps away (4-6) then look up! GOSH
is that tree BIG or what?
PART 2-This is WEIRD too. Go next to a tree in Likutu
camera mode and press C left or C right and keep pressing it.
Isn't it kinda spooky the way it always looks at you?
* * * * *
Go on top of the castle and go to the back of the castle. Change
the view so you can see Mario's face. Go to the back so you can't
go any further. You should now be able to see through the castle
and you should see the door, the hole where you get the blue switch
and more.
In any level with a hill, slide off the hill and press back for about half
of the way down and when you reach flat land, let go and you'll float
backwards.

This trick isn't much, but it's very funny. Have Mario go to
Lethal Lava Land. Go to stars 5 or 6 (Cause you need the super
Shell) After getting the shell, go to the log that rolls when
you jump on it. Instead of jumping on it, go under it
And Mario will Make a weird sound. (And die!!!!!)
* * * * *
Go to left side of castle . Do triple jump and land on Boo.
You end up on top of castle. Yoshi is not up there but you
get a good view (stars do not mater).
* * * * *
In the first level go to the first bridge which
is like a ramp. Go under it and jump to hang on it,
it's like hanging on wire or vines. Now swing to the
bottom part of the bridge until you hit the dirt and
cant swing any further. Let go and you should go right
through the bridge.

In the first snow stage, there are TWO penguins. One in
the very beginning, and one on the roof of the house.
(Located behind the Mother Penguin. Bring both babies
to the Mother one, then run, jump, and dive next to the
little pond the penguins are in. The babies imitate you!!!!

Performing this trick will let you torture Mario!
1. Jump into the Wet/Dry World painting at the highest
level. The water will now be up as high as it will go.
2. Get in the cannon. Aim directly at the sun, then nudge
it down a tiny bit (note: only a VERY tiny bit, or it
will not work).
3. Fire the cannon. While in the air, hold back on the
control stick. If you aimed correctly, you will hit
the "invisible" wall, fall back to the cannon platform,
take damage, and bounce back into the cannon.
4. Here's the best part: You can still shoot him after
he's dead! When you have finished torturing the little
guy, shoot him into the water, where he will instantly
drown with his head above the water!

Course 1 (Bomb Guy World)
Location: The door to the far left as you enter the first floor of the
castle.
#1 The Boss at the top of the mountain holds the first star.
#2 Race the koopa to the top of the mountain and you'll receive
the second star.
#3 After you talk to the Bomb-omb and have access to the cannons,
you can reach the third star on the island floating alongside
the mountain.
#4 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#5 Use the cannon on the floating island to blast through the
five gold coin rings. If you collect all five gold coins from
the center of the rings you'll receive the fifth star. Note: It is
easier to accomplish this task if you have enabled the Red ! Switch.
#6 Smash in the post holding the Chomp Chomp and he'll crash
through the gate behind him and give you access to the sixth star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 2 (Castle World)
Location: Second door from the right as you enter the first floor of the
castle.
#1 Topple the monolith Boss at the top of the level to get the
first star.
#2 The Boss has been replaced by a tower at the top of the level.
Climb it and you'll get another star.
#3 Use the cannon to the left of the pool of water to blast to
the platform below the large flagpole. Bingo! Another Star.
#4 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#5 At the beginning of the level climb the tree and an owl will
appear. Grab onto the owl and he will fly you to the top of the
level. Maneuver yourself over the caged Star and drop down
to nab another Star.
#6 Use the cannon to blast Mario into the corner of the wall on
the far side of the rotating platform.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 3 (Underwater World)
Location: First door from the right as you enter the first floor of the
castle.
#1 To enter the sunken ship you must lure the eel out of his
hole. Once inside, open the boxes in order, (top, right, bottom,
left) and then climb the barnacles to the Star.
#2 The giant eel has moved to the inside of the large underwater
valley. Pass by him and he will leave his roost and the second
star will be dangling from his tail.
#3 The third star is hidden in the chests in the back aqueduct.
(The correct order is the top, left, right, and bottom.)
#4 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#5 Now if you talk to the pink Bomb-omb, he will open the cannon
trapdoor so you can blast to the inside stalagmite and jump to
the third star.
#6 To get the sixth star you must go back into the aqueduct and
get the power from the green box.
Run back into the water and you can jump to the final star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 4 (Ice World)
Location: Second door from the left as you enter the first floor of the
castle.
#1 Enter the chimney of the house at the top of the hill and
successfully slide to the bottom of the mountain. Note: There
is a hidden passage at the first banked turn. Follow the row
of coins leading into the wall and you'll be rewarded with 1-ups.
#2 For the second Star, simply, bring the baby penguin from the
top of the mountain to his mother at the bottom.
#3 Go back into the house and beat the penguin down the slide and
you'll receive another Star. Note: Short-cuts won't help.
#4 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#5 After you have completed the first four Stars a snowball will
appear at the top at the mountain. Race him down to the snowball
face and stand in front of it to create a giant snowman. Talk to him
and he'll give you a Star.
#6 Use the rope trolley to get to the pink Bomb-omb so he'll open
the cannon door. Now use the cannon to blast to the level just
beneath the top of the rope trolley. Work your way up the path and
use a jumping wall kick to reach the top level and get the Star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 5 (Ghost World)
Location: Butt stomp the big ghost in the courtyard. To get to the
courtyard simply enter the brown doors on
either side of the center staircase on the first floor and then go down
the hall.
#1 Kill all the small ghosts on the first level (a la Butt Stomp)
and a large ghost will appear in the main hall. Destroy him and
the Star is yours. This also creates a staircase to level 2.
#2 Now go to the carousel at the bottom of the small house. Kill
the all the ghosts, big and small, and you'll receive another Star.
#3 Go to the library on the left side of the second floor and go
to the end of the hallway. To unlock the Star behind the wall you
must press the three switches in this order: center, right, left.
#4 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#5 This one's tricky! Go to small library on the right side of
the second floor. Jump up onto the raised portion of the floor
and look up. You'll see a ledge above that you must use the
jump kick off the wall to reach. Go up and defeat the Ghost
and prepare to scream. To get the Star you must jump
to the flat portion of the roof to your left or right and then
super jump back to the middle. Very difficult!
#6 For the final Star, you must go back to the small library, but
this time you must grab the Blue! Box before you go up the wall.
Once up, go through the picture of the Ghost and then defeat the eye
ball (oncehe shoots at you, run around him until he disappears).
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 6 (Girder World)
Location: Go to the basement and follow the hallway to the right.
Course 6 is the door just to the right of the Fire World (Course 7).
#1 Go to Nessy's Swamp (via the rolling rock area) and you'll
find a star sitting in the middle. Hop on Nessy's back (don't
worry it's a harmless procedure) to reach it.
#2 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#3 Head back to Nessy's Swamp, but this time hit the Green !
Switch and turn into Chromario. Follow the path underwater
to the blue floor switch and then enter the door behind the
newly opened gates. The star is just two short super jumps away!
#4 To find the fourth star, run through the acid trenches until
you find a single mole. Use the Mario Cane to find a ledge and then
use a super back flip to get up top. Run through the door, grasp the
girder above you and follow the coins to the star.
#5 Head back to the acid trenches and get back to the single
mole. To the right of the passage you just jumped up to you'll
see a wall with green slime marks. Above them is another secret passage.
Back flip up and head down the passage and you'll find the fifth Star.
#6 Finally, head back to the rolling rocks and go to the left
side of the cavern. Turn towards the door and look up and you'll
see the Star. Use the wall jump technique to reach it!
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 7 (Fire World)
Location: Go to the basement and follow the hallway to the right. Course
7 is the picture of the fire creature.
#1 Follow the path until you get to a large Viking Bomb. Knock
him into the lava and you'll receive a star. (Hint: Lure them to
the edge and then Butt Slash'em.)
#2 At the far right side there is a group of three small Viking
Bombs. Knock them into the lava and a large one will appear.
Knock him in and the Star is yours.
#3 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#4 As you enter the level there is a wall of grating that is
hiding a Star. Work your way across the platforms and then
use the rolling log to reach your prize.
#5 Jump into the volcano (when it isn't erupting) and you'll be
transported to the center. Work your way up the side path, make
a couple of jumps, and the pointed, shiny thing is yours.
#6 Head back to the Volcano, but this time take the moving
platform that spirals upward. Reach the top and your job here
is done.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 8 (Desert World)
Location: Go to the basement and follow the hallway to the right. Take a
left at the picture of the fire creature and follow the path until you reach
a dead-end. Now, jump into the false wall (tricky!).
#1 Grab the star from the vulture flying by the oasis next to the
pyramid. (Note: You can run up the sides of the checkered columns.)
#2 Climb the outside of the Pyramid to the top and you'll find
the idols you seek.
#3 Enter the pyramid and go all the way to the top. Easy!
#4 Make your way up the inside of the pyramid so that you can
fall onto the top of the checkered box in the middle of the structure.
Go to the edge with of the wall with the hole in the side. Walk off
the edge and immediately press back towards the structure and
Mario will grab onto the ledge. Go down and battle the hands boss
for the Star. Hint: Hit the eye when it's open.
#5 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#6 To get the sixth Star you must collect five specific gold
coins inside the pyramid. Starting at the highest platform in the
pyramid is a river of sand. There are two coins out in the river
and three that can reached by falling onto the three platforms to
the left and right as it flows from the top.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 9 (Water Level 2)
Location: Go to the basement and go to the Star door directly to
your left as you enter. (Note: You must have thirty Stars to
enter.) Jump into the shimmering water at the end of the hall.
#1 The first Star is on top of the submarine. Use the floor !
switch to create a bridge to your prize.
#2 At the beginning of the level swim all the way to the bottom
and then open all five chests in order. Start with the chest
next to the clam and work your way around the bottom
counter-clockwise until you get to the final chest next to the vortex.
#3 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#4 In the back cavern there is a water jet sending up rings of
water. Go through five rings in a row and a Star will appear.
To get the Star simply hit the Green ! Box and use Chromario to fetch it.
#5 The Manta Ray in the front cove also sends out rings of water.
Swim through five in a row and a Star will appear.
#6 In the back cavern there is a Star behind a wall of coral. Use
the Blue! Box to turn into Molecular Mario and then walk through
the wall and nab the Star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 10 (Ice World 2)
Location: On the second floor (which can only be accessed by
the Key from Bowser #2) you'll find a door surrounded by
brick that leads to a hall of mirrors. Take a left as you
enter the hall and look in the mirror. You'll see a snow
level that is only in the reflection. Jump into the corresponding wall.
#1 Head to the top of the mountain, via the ridge just past
the snow wave machine, and talk to the penguin. Now you must
match his moves to make it across the icy bridge without
being blow off. The Star is just around the corner.
#2 Simply knock the Viking ice ball into the water to rack up
another Star.
#3 Solve the 3D puzzle maze right at the beginning of the level.
#4 Just to the left of the snow wave machine is a helicopter
snowman in the water. Jump off his head and you can fly over
the ridge directly behind him. The box on the left is a Star
and the right box is a turtle shell (which is necessary to get
the Red Coins beneath the Viking ice ball).
#5 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#6 Use the Turtle shell next to Star #4, but this time go to the
ramp with coins leading up the mountain (just to the left of
the snow wave machine). Enter the igloo and use the Blue ! Box in the
corner to pass through walls and get the Star. Hint: One wall
around the Blue ! Box is shorter than the others.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 11 (Water Skimmer World)
Location: The picture of the water spider that you see as you enter the
second floor (where levels 10-13 are located).
#1 Raise the water to the third highest level and then travel out
to the small platforms with direction arrows on them. Ride
them across to the Yellow ! Box that contains a Star.
#2 Work your way up to the spinning platform and then jump
to the orange platform with a Yellow! Box. Bust it for the Star.
#3 To collect the third Star you must touch the five secret
spots. The first is the Yellow ! Box on the column to the right
of the floor ! switch. The second is the Yellow! Box above Star
#4. Now you must drain the water to the lowest level. The third
spot is behind the push box just below Star #1. The fourth is the
Yellow! Box to the right of the push box and the final spot is
the push box at the base of the structure.
#4 The grate cage just above the Blue ! Switch holds the fourth
Star. To get it you must first drain the water to its lowest level
so you can break the box at the bottom of the cage. Now, without
raising the water, get back to the floor ! switch. Flip it, and
climb to the top. Here's where it gets tricky. You must ride the
elevator down, hop off, and then get back on inside the cage before the
elevator heads back up. We found that a back flip works best.
#5 Collect all eight Red Coins (which are found in the same area
as the Star #6).
#6 To get the sixth Star you must travel to the second area in
this level. To get there you must raise the water to its highest
level (the button just up and to the right of the long grate cage
in the corner). Now go to the floating plank just to the right of
the platform with the Pink Bomb-omb. You MUST triple jump on
this tiny platform to get up to the Bomb-omb. After you make
this jump, talk to him and he'll open the cannon. Blast through
the sky into the lone grating in the corner. Swim down and around
and you'll find the hidden area. Swim down to the button in the
corner and drain the water. Look around and you'll see a floor
switch. Remember that! Go to the Blue! Switch and become
Molecular Mario! Now run and flip the floor switch and then run
to the long grate with the Star inside. If the switch runs out,
you can also use a wall-jump to get up to the Star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 12 (Mushroom World)
Location: The small picture of mushrooms on the third floor.
#1 The first Star is at the very top of the mountain.
#2 Catch the monkey at the very top of the mountain and follow
him. He will open the cage to the second Star.
#3 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#4 As you make your way up the mountain there is a long
jump right next to a 1-up. After you make the jump, walk
up to the next corner (where five coins are located) and
look at the side of the mountain. Jump into the odd colored
area and you'll be transported to a slide that, when finished,
will take you to a Star.
#5 Towards the top of the mountain you'll encounter a floor!
switch. Enable the switch and run up to the top of the waterfall.
The secret brick will allow you to jump down to the Star.
#6 To get the sixth Star you must use the Cannon to shoot out to
the Star on the Mushroom. The Pink Bomb-omb that you must
talk too is just below the first monkey and the cannon is located
just below the single mushroom by the gophers. To get to it
you must super jump out to the large mushroom and then super
jump again to the landing below.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 13 (Big and Small World)
Location: Enter the door to the right of the water spider level.
The picture to the left makes Mario big, the picture to the
right makes Mario small, and the picture in the middle does
nothing. Note: You can also change Mario's size on the level
by jumping into green pipes.
#1 At the green pipe, located next to the floor ! switch, destroy
all the plants as small Mario and you'll get a Star.
#2 Go to the top of the mountain as small Mario and break open
the Yellow ! Box and you'll get a shiny Star.
#3 As small Mario you'll find a Koopa Troopa waiting just beyond
where the balls come out of the mountain next to a small pen.
Beat him to the flag and he'll squeeze off a Star.
#4 To get the fourth Star you must find five secret Spots as big
Mario. They are located at the top of the mountain...next to the
cannon...by the origin of the rolling cannon balls...the cave that
leads to the eight Red Coins...and the tunnel right at the beginning of
the level.
#5 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#6 For the sixth Star you must go to the top of the mountain as
big Mario and butt smash into the center of the pool of water
so that all the water will drain and reveal a hidden passage. Turn
back into small Mario and jump in. Beat the caterpillar inside and
you'll get the sixth Star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 14 (Clock World)
Location: As you enter the third floor, it is the clock face directly in
front of you. Jump in right on the hour and the clockworks inside
will stop; however, for some Stars the clock must be working.
#1 Head up the clockworks and you'll come across a cage with a
Star in it. What are you waiting for? Go get it!
#2 Head back up the clockworks, but this time go further than you
did before until you reach an enemy that looks like a mix between
a vacuum and a spatula. Just past him there is a chasm that you
must jump across. Go to the other side and nab the Star.
#3 As you climb up the level you'll notice a clock hand moving in
the middle. Hop on the hand and swing around to the third Star.
(Note: The Clock must be moving to get this Star.)
#4 Climb all the way to the top of the level and jump onto the
clock hand and swing over to the conveyor belt. Jump onto the
blue stomping stone and then jump out to the Star. (Note: The
Clock must be moving to get this Star.)
#5 This star is directly above Star #2. To get there you must
jump out onto the top of the yellow cage that you'll see just
past the heart refill. (Note: The Clock must be moving to get
this Star.)
#6 Collect all eight Red Coins.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
Course 15 (Rainbow Road)
Location: Just to the right of the clock on the third floor.
#1 The first star is on top of the flying ship. To get there you
must take the carpet on the left when you reach a fork in the
rainbow road.
#2 The second Star is on top of the castle in the sky. To get
there you must take the carpet on the right when you reach
a fork in the rainbow road. (Hint: Use the back flip to make
the more difficult jumps.)
#3 Collect all eight Red Coins.
#4 Take the route to the left of the Red Coin area and follow the
path. After going across numerous swings you'll come to a split
in the road. Go forward toward the small pyramids. Make it up the
pyramid path and you'll be rewarded with a Star.
#5 Follow the same route as Star #4, but this time head up the
large incline and then follow the path to the next Star.
#6 The sixth Star can only be reached by the cannon at the back
of the flying ship (where you found Star #1). To enable the
cannon you must talk to the Pink Bomb-omb in a secret area
of the Red Coin maze. To get there you must go to the spot with
the heart refill. Now, a la Metroid, you must jump kick back and
forth off the walls until you reach the top of the structure.
Walk to the end and talk to Pinky. Now go back to the ship and
launch out of the cannon through the rainbow hoop at the flagpole
on the small island. There you will find a yellow ! box with the Star.
Bonus Star: Collect 100 Gold Coins.
