How Do I Catch a Pokemon?
To catch a pokemon, for those who don't know, you must find a pokemon in tall grass areas. (You can also find them in certain buildings, but if you don't know how to catch pokemon yet, you aren't in any of those areas.) You must fight it to weaken its energy. Do not make it faint! After it is weak, throw a pokeball. ***You can't get any pokeballs untill after you give the package you get in the first city to Proffessor Oak. Then you can buy pokeballs. OK. Now you must go to the item menu. Find the pokeball in the menu. Hit A. It will say Ash threw the Pokeball(it will turn into the great ball-ultra ball-master ball as you go on). If you have weakened the pokemon enough, it will catch the pokemon.
How Can I Make It Easier To Catch Pokemon?
There are a few techniques that you can use to make them easier to catch. You can put them to sleep with certain attacks like sleep powder. You can use Ice attacks to freeze them. You can paralize them, also.
Should I Catch The Pokemon As Soon As I See It?
You should. You must weaken it first, though. I've heard that you should catch 3 or 4 and then save your pokeballs for later in the game. That is crap. The point of the game is to collect them all. There are certain pokemon that you don't see many of. You need to catch them. You may not get another chance for a long time. Catch any pokemon you see unless you already have it.
Why Does Proffessor Oak Say "This isn't the time to use that"?
If Proffessor Oak says that, than it means that you can't use that now. You could be in a battle, because then you cant use anything except stuff you buy at a Pokemart. You can only use TM's out of battle. There are things that you get that you must give to someone. You must give the fossil and the Amber to a guy in the building on Cinnibar Island. In turn, he gives you pokemon he "ressurected" from the stuff. Most people give you something in return for items.
Can I Cure Paralized Pokemon?
Yes. You can buy paralyize heal at pokemarts(parylz heal). That will un-paralize your pokemon. A pokecenter will do the same.
Can I Un-Freeze Frozen Pokemon?
Yes. You can use Ice heal from pokemarts. A pokecenter will do the same.
Can I Wake Up Sleeping Pokemon?
Yes. You can use awakening, a pokeflute, or a pokecenter.
Can I Un-Confuse Confused Pokemon?
No. Only time or a pokecenter can do that.
How Can I Catch Pokemon In The Safari Zone?
You catch Pokemon in the safari zone by throwing safari balls, baiting pokemon, or throwing rocks. If the ball isn't good enough to catch the pokemon, then you can throw bait to it. That will distract it. Throwing rocks doesn't have much effect on the pokemon. It only makes them run away. If the ball starts to miss, then give up on the pokemon. You cant catch it again if you miss throwing the safari ball.
Should I Raise My Pokemon Evenly?,/b>
They say to always raise your pokemon evenly, but it is still cool to have a level 43 Blastoise in Pewter City. In the long run it is easier to raise them evenly, though. You can raise one Pokemon to a high level, like 30, and then start in on the others you catch. That will guarantee you a win in battkles
How Can I Win Fights Easier?
You need to use strategy in pokemon. You need to teach it more attacks. The TM’s you find around are good for that. The HM’s also make good attacks, as well as tools. You must also use a strongrer pokemon against a weaker pokemon. A level 5 pikachu will not beat a level 35 anything! You can also use a strateicly better pokemon than your opponent. Consult this chart for details

HM's
1. HM Cut:
In Lavender Town there is a ship called the S.S. Anne. If you have gotten the ticket then use the ticket. Get on board and get to the captains room. You can get the first ability. It is a somewhat good attack, but you can cut down bushes now.
2. HM Flash:
Go through the tunnel called Diglets cave. At the other end you can get Flash from Proffessor Oak if you have 10 or more pokemon. This is used for only lighting up rock tunnel. You will only need this once.
3. HM Surf:
In Fushia City there is place called The Safari Zone. Walk around untill you get to the Treasure House in the . You will get surf. You can now swim.
4. HM Strength
Near the Treasure House, you can the Gold Teeth. Give them to the warden in the house across the road to the left of the Poke Center. He'll give you the strength ability. You can now push the rocks like the one in his house.
5. HM Fly:
Near the ****Kabigon in Tamamushi there is a bush. Cut it down, go through the gate and into the house. There will be a girl. She'll give ya' the 2nd ability.
The Beginning of Pokemon
Everyone knows that Pokemon is staged on an island called Pokemon Isle. This is how it was discovered...
Jonathan Ketchum leaped out of the way of the reaching vines. The frog-plant yelled, "BALB-A-SAUR!" as leaves broke from a tree and flew around it. It blasted the leaf stream at Professor Oak. He dodged it by a millimeter. Agatha and Bruno tried getting the other monster, similar to the other creature, save the bulb had sprouted, and yet another that was even more grown. "VEEAA-NAHHH-SAWWWRR!" the adult thundered. Lorelei waved her coat at the other thing, which yelled, "EYEEEE-VEEEE!"
They finally ran off. Lance caught his breath. "Let's take cover in that cave!" he yelled. They ducked as two bat things flew out, screeching, "ZEWWW-BATTT!" "Arrrghh!" groaned Bruno; "I'm starting to hate these things!" Oak said, "How could you say that! Those creatures are amazing! Especially Bulbasaur." Lance cast a wary eye on his friend. "You refer those things to as 'Bulbasaur'. Clever, calling them what they yell." "No," corrected Oak, "the others were Ivysaur and Venusaur. I think those things... came from Bulbasaur." Jonathan caught on. "Like they evolved..." "Yes!" exclaimed Oak, "That's what we will call those things' future forms- evolutions!" Agatha shook her head. "Heh. That's you, Oak- all about the science."
Oak was already busy checking out cave paintings. "Amazing," he uttered, "These people caught these things with... that!" He pointed at a painting of a strange ball. "It all has to do with laser technology!" Jonathan exclaimed, "Apparently, a person throws the ball. Lasers inside are nulled as ions spill out in the throw. When it detects a monster in the area, it automatically activates its programming. When it hits a monster, it opens and pulls apart its cells, then reassembled, smaller, inside the ball, and is tagged with ID. "Lance whistled. "All that from a tribal race?" Jonathan continued, "Not only that, but it senses DNA and automatically comes back to the capturer's hand. That is too much." Suddenly, a smile crept on Oak's face. He quickly took off his backpack and spread out his gear and supplies. "What are you doing?" Agatha quizzed. "Making sure we can get off this island in one piece!"
He got out metals and lasers, and Jonathan knew what he was doing. "You're making one of those balls? "Oak quickly nodded, as he welded the metals together. Soon, he made thirty balls, and he apologized, "Sorry for the unattractive red-and-white color." He passed out five balls per person, including himself. "We are going to catch those things to protect ourselves."
Lance leaped in front of the creature. It screeched, "PIDG-OTTTTT!" Its long, colorful head plumes bounded. It flew in the sky. Oak simply tapped his foot. He saw another thing come at him. Only, not hostile. It appeared mouse-like. It had yellow fur, black eyes, long ears with black tips, red sacks on his cheeks, a strange, double-curve smile, and was very fat, with brown stripes and a zigzag tail. "Pikachu!" it sweetly introduced itself. Agatha gushed, "Oh! It's so cute!" The creature frowned. "Pee-kahh." Its cheeks glowed. A hundred-watt electric blast leaped at her. She abruptly sat down, crispy, and hair severely out-of-shape. Oak took action and threw the ball. It sailed in the air, leaving the air lightly heated. It bounced off its head and bounced back. It opened, showing its odd innards. The laser shot out, as the monster de-atomized and re-atomized in the ball. A red light blinked on it, and it rolled lazily on the ground. Browow Browow Browow TUNGGG! The ball flew into Oak's hand. He pressed on it, and it grew smaller. He then placed it in his pocket. "Humph," said Jonathan, "A monster that fits in your pocket. A Pocket Monster." "No..." said Oak, growing with realization, "Not a Pocket Monster... a Pokemon!"
Agatha shook her head. Just then, the bird monster flew back at them, claws forward. Bruno dodged it, and he threw a ball at it. It opened, and the monster- 'Pokemon', as Oak called it- was sucked in. In midair, it began swaying, but reopened, releasing the monster. Oak thought quickly, and sent the captured monster out. It yelled, "Pika!" Instinctively, his cheeks started glowing. "PI-KA-CHEWWWWW!" The bird writhed in the blast, trying to blow up a tornado. It sent recoil of electricity at the mouse and Jonathan. They both let out cries of pain, and fell. Bruno threw the ball again. This time, it was successfully caught. Bruno swooped up the ball, shrinking it and hooking it onto his belt. Agatha and Oak quickly went to the Pokemon and Jonathan.
Back at the cave, Jonathan woke up. So did the monster, which Oak dubbed Pikachu. He was checking his miniature CAT scan reader. "The recoil seems to have had a strange effect on the tiny Pikachu. It seems to have absorbed knowledge from Jonathan. It seems to be part Pokemon in the brain... and part human. "Shaking his head, he said, "This Pikachu has something wrong with it."
* * UNITED NATIONS, ENGLAND 10:09 AM***
Every nation was stunned at the discovery of these amazing creatures. It was decided that the island would be populated. Almost immediately, adds in the paper offered vacations, or even options to move, to the island, dubbed Pokemon Isle.
TWO YEARS LATER Jonathan observed the island beyond. He was on a boat with his wife, Andrea, moving to Pokemon Island. Young Ash giggled, looking with wide, wondering eyes at the island. "We're going to live in Pallet Town," Jonathan said, "and I'm going to join the Pokemon league. Agatha, Bruno, Lorelei and Lance are the leaders." Andrea was observing a beautiful creature that was swimming along the side of the ship. It let out a soothing, "Laaaprassss!" Another creature leapt out, like a serpent. It had thick scales, a dragon-like face, and roared, "GYAAARR-AAHH- DOASSS!" The Lapras fired a strong beam of water at the dragon, and it wavered back. It reared back to strike when the Lapras fired an Ice Beam at it. It froze solid, and fell back into the ocean. Just then, a Pokeball sailed at the Lapras, and it was swooped into the ball. The ball daintily flew back into Lorelei's hand, and she plainly said, "Gotcha." Another ball, belonging to Lance, flew at the other thing. It too flew back to his hand, successful in capture. "I dub thee," Lance declared dramatically, "Gyaradose!"
He twirled it and hooked it on to his belt with four others. He declared, "I have quite a collection. A Dratini, two Dragonairs, and now a Gyaradose." After catching some stronger Pokemon, all of the others gave their old Pokemon to Agatha, who was suddenly very interested in Pokemon. Oak kept Lance's Pikachu, but had never let him out of the ball. It was in stasis, staying one year old until it was released.
Oak walked up to Jonathan and Andrea, saying, "Good morning! Lovely weather, isn't it?" Jonathan nodded, saying, "Did you know that Bill, Jeremy and Adam came here too?" Oak nodded, saying, "Let's check on them!" Duplika sat in her room, annoyed and lonely. Her father was meeting with Prof. Oak and Jonathan Ketchum to discus Pokemon.
She pleaded to herself, "I wish there was someone here to play with." A creaking noise, followed by the sound of what sounded like a nuclear engine powering up was heard, and someone said, "Hell-itto!" She turned around and saw what was a small, pink pillow turn into her. Except that her face was just two dimpled, dot like eyes and a strange smile. She reeled. Then, a similar sound came about and it became the small pillow again, only that the strange face was there now. It squeaked "Ditto!" She walked to it and said, "Hello... Ditto!" It smiled. She picked it up. It was nice and squishy. She said, "Ditto, I think we are going to have a looong friendship!"
"C'mon James, we don't wanna miss out on that giant buffet!" Thirteen-year-old Jessie dragged an unwilling James after her. She had heard that there was a fairly large buffet in the main hall. "But Jessie," James whined, "I don't wanna goooo!" She growled, "What do you want- food... or a broken nose?" He quickly complied. They stalked around until they found a porthole. "Jessie," pointed James, "How are we going to get in there?" Jessie proclaimed, "Easy! Go... Ekans!" A young Ekans leaped out of his Pokeball and into the porthole. Slithering down, he began to flick out his tongue to help find the buffet. Unlike other snake species, Ekans could hear. He followed the smells and noises that signified adults around food. He found a vent down the metal porthole that seemed to lead strait to the source of the smells and noises. He beat his rattle against the porthole's sides.
"Hear that?" said Jessie, giddy, "Ekans found the buffet! Let's go!" Before James could argue, she grabbed him and they both slid down the porthole. As his side hit the wall, James's belt-mounted Pokeball activated and out came young Koffing. The banging, bumping, and added smoke made the bumpy ride even bumpier. Finally, Ekans ensnared the threesome in his coils, straitening the ride out. They slid down the vent, and then, James complained, "Where's the food?" The answer came as the bottom dropped from them. The next thing they knew, Ekans was in the middle of a platter of spaghetti, James was in the punch, Jessie was drowning in the patented Giganto-Soup-Platter, and Koffing was spewing smoke in the middle of a platter of enchiladas. Their parents looked upon them with peering eyes. "I think we're in trouble..." uttered James.
“Why should I get this Game if I already have pokemon?” You ask? I’l tell ya why. Its better. This is why.
First, you go into the tall grass like before, and professor Oak stops you. He then runs into a Pikachu, and Captures it.
When you, Prof. Oak, and Gary meet, there is only one Pokeball. Gary Gets it. Prof. Oak gives you his Pikachu
Gary Gets an Eevee
Pikachu can’t stand being in the pokeball, so he follows you around. Like the show
Pikachu is always with you
Pikachu can’t turn into a Raichu, but any other Pikachu’s can evolve
I'm guessing that Pikachu won't have terrible defense anymore
All of the Pokemon Pokedex pictures look a lot better
Pikachu isn’t a “pregnant hamster” as I have heard him described
Brock, Misty, and the other gym leaders are wearing the same clothes as in the TV show
All of the pokemon are there. You don’t have to trade to get them all
The Pokemon are found in diferent areas than in the other versions
The moves learned by the Pokemon occur at different levels and they learn different moves
The Rockets (the black guys with with whips) are replaced by Jesse and James
Jessie and James have Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing at their disposal, and they later evolve.
You can “talk” to Pikachu and see his face, which relects how happy he is
"Should I shell out another $30 for a game I already have?" you ask. You can decide for yourself whether you will. Or let me decide, and get it. It will be neat to see how diferent the Pokemon are. Im getting it when it comes out I the US.

Ahnd... here comes pokemon gold and silver
Everyone figured that the Pokemon game series wouldn’t stop here. And it won’t. There are three new games coming out. There are Pokemon Gold, Silver and Platinum versions coming out. Japan is making them. They are all Pokemon 2.
They are going to be games staged a century before the Red, Blue and Green (Japan only) versions. They are prequils like Zelda V and the Star Wars new movies. Now this is good. 250 Pokemon, ***each having there own species. That makes 500 different Pokemon you’ve got to get in order to “catch ‘em all.”*** I am not exactly sure what this means. I copied this from the page. Maybe it means that there will be a male and a female of each type like the Nidorans had in the first games.
There is a day and a night (I think) and there are some Pokemon that can only be caught in the day or in the night. A bunch of the Pokemon in this Game became extinct between the time of the Pokemon games out now. I am not sure if it happens in the same place. It may have the same cities and layout, or it may be somewhere completely different. It will probably be different because they want it to be as good as a hit as the first games. The only thing they will keep the same is the first 150 pokemon. Or… it may be about 140 or something because they would need to change certain pokemon because there Pokedex description, or their means of capture wouldn’t fit the time line.

Though, it may be that you find it and don’t tell anyone. | Mew | Mew was, again, recently discovered in the Jungles of South America, and 100 years isn’t recent. | Mewtwo | Mewtwo was born from Mew, and Mew was just found. OR… Mewtwo was created by Generic Enginering and there was not generic engineering then. This depends on what you read from. The Pokedex says generic engineering and the papers in the Pokemon lab say Mew gave birth to Mewtwo. |
This means that the Pokemon above will probably be replaced by new ones, so there will be over 100 new pokemon. Hey, Magicarp may be stronger, because the Pokedex says his precessors were stronger…
