Here is a list of enemies in the game, and strategies for defeating them. This list does not include the bosses.

The List

Stalchild: Kind of like a baby Stalfos, the Stalchild is a relatively harmless enemy. They appear in Hyrule Field when Link is a child. A simple hack and slash technique works best.

Deku Baba: Kind of like the Pirahna Plants from Mario Bros., the Deku Babas are best defeated by aiming at their stems. Keep your shield up as you move in, then whack them.

Deku Scrub: The Deku Scrub hides in the ground when you get close, and spits seeds at you from a distance. Target it, then use your shield to deflect it's seeds back at it. Once it pops out of it's hold, whack it.

Skullwalltula: These spiders are everywhere, and are usually clinging to surfaces that you can climb on. They are easily defeated, however, with a well placed arrow or Deku Seed.

Big Skulltula: The hard covering on these large spiders is penetrable by arrows or the hookshot. As younger Link, wait for them to expose their underside, them attack.

Gohma Larva: These small versions of Gohma like to hop around a lot. Keep your shield up, and retaliate after they bounce off it.

Peahat: These plants are scattered about Hyrule Field in Link's childhood years. Watch out for their spinning blade-like appendages, and target their roots underneath.

Keese: These bats are not strong, but can be bothersome, especially later in the game. Watch for dive bomb attacks from above.

Fire Keese: These flaming bats will set you on fire if they touch you, burning up your Deku Shield. Block them with the Hylian Shield to put out their flames, then attack them.

Ice Keese: These icy counterparts to the Fire Keese will put you in a deep-freeze if they touch you. Do as before, and block with your shield, then attack.

Octorok: These fresh-water octopi shoot rocks at you from the water. Send them flying back with your shield, or attack with arrows or your slingshot.

Biri: Electrified jellyfish will shock you if you attack them with your sword. Stun them with a Deku Nut first, or use the boomerang.

Bari: Treat these large jellyfish as they were Biri. When defeated, 3 Biri will pop out of them.

Red Tektite: Watch for the irregular hopping of these spindly legged creatures. Block with your shield, but be careful, sometimes they jump higher then you can block. Retaliate after they bounce off.

Blue Tektite: These water-striding Tektites are quick on the water, so lure them onto the land, or take them down with your bow before they get to you.

Beamos: Defeat it with a well placed bomb, but be careful not to get too close. The laser beam they shoot from their eye can be blocked with the mirror shield, and you can momentarily stun them with a shot to the eye part of their body.

Baby Dodongo: One slash will take out these baby lizards, but once dead, clear the area! They explode when defeated, so be careful.

Dodongo: A few well placed bombs will do in this lizard. Watch for it's fire breath, however. Your sword will not hurt them.

Lizalfos: These lizard counterparts to the Stalfos are not too much trouble. Block their attacks, and then launch an offensive. They like to jump, so be prepared!

Dinofos: Tougher than your normal Lizalfos, the Dinofos loves to jump around a lot, so keep on your toes. Use the same tactics to defeat them as you would the Lizalfos.

Stalfos: These skeleton knights are armed with sword and shield. Block their attacks, then quickly slash them. They also jump around, so be ready. The Stalfos are fun to fight, so have a good time with them.

Ironknuckle: The knight from Zelda II returns, and this time he brought a big axe. Whatever you do, don't try and block it...you will not succeed. Target him, then sidestep or backflip when he swings. Quickly attack, then back off and repeat. Their attacks are devastating, so be very careful.

ReDead: These zombies are everywhere in the future. Some of them can freeze you with their horrid screams, so approach with caution! They will leap at you and suck your life away if you get too close. However, if you play the Sun's Song, you can stun them for a little while. Long enough to kill them or escape, anyhow.

Gibdo: Mummies! Watch out for these guys, then will stun you with their screams. Treat them like ReDeads.

Razorshell: These clams may seem tough, but they're not. Aim for their soft insides with your hookshot and nail them. If you miss, block them with your shield then try again!
