JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES Developed and Published by Activision 5/11/01 Activision has just announced its plans on bringing the kung-fu comedy action of the hit Kids WB animated series Jackie Chan Adventures to Nintendo GameCube and Gameboy Advance. May 10, 2001 Giant publisher Activision Entertainment announced today that it has acquired the rights to develop videogames based on the animated series Jackie Chan Adventures for next-generation Nintendo platforms, including GameCube. The anime-style cartoon features superstar Jackie Chan as an amateur archeologist recruited by the government to defeat an evil organization called the Dark Hand. The show, which first aired on Kids' WB in early September 2000, was named as the highest rated program for younger viewers. "Jackie Chan is one of the most popular action personalities in the world," stated Ron Doornink, President and COO for Activision, Inc. "Building on the television series' rich storylines, we will be able to create viscerally thrilling games that will give Jackie's fans a whole new way to experience his elaborate acrobatic feats and comedic antics." No details were offered about the products, except that they would most likely fall into the action-adventure genre.
