Well, there is some really cool strategy with trains. It is called RoRo:
Roll on - Roll off.
RoRo is based on the principal that more than one train drives on one track. The trains can only drive in one direction on that one track. Your trains will drive first to all the stations at the producing industry, then to the accepting industry. From ther they will move back on a singular track to the fist station at the producing industry.
The most difficult are the stations There are many ways to put a station. First, I will tell you how the easiest RoRo works.
1.1 RoRo easy. Build just a station of 5 by 2. It looks like this
The train will come from the right bottom corner, load at the station and then move on to the left top corner. Two trains can load at one time. You can put more than one of these stations after each other, if there are for example three coalmines somehow in a row, and then move on to one Power station and let the trains unload there. It wil look like this at the ends:
