Song: The Flaming Lips - A Spoonful Weighs a Ton
I haven't been doing much these past few days. Went to one last Christmas thing at my step-uncle's/aunt's and got last CD (The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium) I asked for. I've also been working on a CD database thingy. Take a look here for the info on the CDs I have purchased and here for the full collection on my computer. It took a while to make them with the program but I do like how they came out. My room is a huge mess, good bye.

Song: BT - Circles
My break is getting screwed up... Karl's LAN is Wednesday starting as soon as possible till Thurs. I'm supposed to work till about 4:30 tomorrow, but hopefully I can get off early. Then I won't be getting any sleep and have to work the next day starting around 8 probably. After being at work for a while I've got a dentist appt at 11, and once that's over with I'm supposed to go back to work. Thursday night there is a movie night, so if I were to go to that I'd probably fall asleep, but as it turns out I may not be able to even go. We are having a family Christmas thing in Coffeyville that night. Leaving around 4 (when I get off work) lasting till probabaly 10 (then the 30-40min drive back) making me even more tired if I were to go afterwards to watch movies. One decent thing though is no work on Friday. Next week I'm supposed to work too, yippee :-(. I hope I can leave work early and show up late the night/day of Karl's LAN.

Song: Asia - Without You
I started working again today at the hospital. I'm getting paid pretty well, but it's a different job, instead of working on the computer putting in orders I have to file the orders and reports meaning lots of tedious work.
Last night I think I fixed my dad's computer, ran everything I could think of to try and fix it and installed a few other programs that should help.
Update on grades:- Intro - A
- UNIX - A
- Calc 2 - B
- Phys - B
- Anc World - B
- Hist - D (I'm truly happy I passed)
2.7 overall GPA.

Song: Trans Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon
Today has been fun. I should really get away from my computer more often. I say this sorta often and never get around to it. It was also nice to hang out with friends I haven't in a while. I also went to Ashley Grace for the second time in my life. Didn't really do whole lot, it was just fun.
I've been listening to Trans Siberain Orchestra today, sorta getting ready for Christmas since I haven't heard any Christmas music this year. Tommorow I'll be listening to other stuff, probably Mars Volta.
Something else to note, there is a new version of Trillian out. It's updated with a lot of new options. Still no HTML profile/info and still not file transfers, but seeing when people are typing and direct connections work now.

Song: The Cheiftans - Here's a Health to the Compnay
My history final went alright, all that's left is UNIX and it should be a breeze. So far only 2 grades are known, Physics (B) and Ancient World (B), both of which are what I expected. But I know my Intro class is an A and UNIX will end up as an A, leaving only my history grade left. I need to shave.

Song: Transatlantic - Mystery Train
I just finished with my psuedo-essay. In it I wrote how it won't be an essay, but it will answer the questions asked, I just gave up on writing it in essay form. In it I included a passage of why I'm doing it like I am and why, I was brutally honest, and an happy I did so. Now I just have to study for the final I ahve in 8 hours. Oh and that thing called sleep would be nice.
Don't forget about the LAN, link at top in header.

Song: The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Part 1)
MAKE NOTE OF ABOVE THERE IS INDEED A LAN PARTY OVER THE BREAK.
Now to my update. Yesterday I went out and bought a new CD, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips. I really like some of the songs on it, but others aren't as impressive to me.
Finals are going well so far, tomorrow is my Calc 2 which is the one I'm worried about. I also finished reading my last book of the semseter; I'm glad to be done with reading.

Song: Neal Morse - It's All I Can Do
It's official, I'm a loner. I'd rather be here in a room alone all the time than out with people all the time. Yes I enjoy social interactions and all, but more often I'd rather just be alone. This weekend I've been alone most of the time, and I got some things close to done. I guess I just like being self-sufficient in the loose sense that I am in now. I just go and do what I need to do, no worries about others. I've eaten alone, so many times this semester it seems normal, I've had such litte interatction with people it seems normal, and I'm happy enough as I am. Other people just tend to bother me.

Song: Joe Satriani - Slow Down Blues
While reading tonight Mushroom Hunting got stuck in my head.
Africa Mexico Sicily Tiajuana
India Osaka Indonesia
Anyway today I finally got around to formatting that jacked up 40gig HDD I got over the summer and am using it as a backup drive for my mp3s and other files I may want around if my other hard drives die or get jacked enough to require a format. Also listened to some of At The Drive-In as per Kyle Ary's suggestion after listening to The Mars Volta. I must say I enjoy The Mars Volta more, I think I mostly just expected At The Drive-In to sound more like them. I'm wearing my Half-Life 2 shirt.

Song: Tom Waits - Drunk on the Moon
Been messing with the layout a little, I found this really cool pic, but it doesn't look too good with text all over it so I put the table background color over it. Also the Happy Festivus picture at the top was added. You can click it to learn more about the tradition of Festivus (for those that have never heard of it it is from Seinfeld). I also had lots of trouble finding a color that looked decent for links so I settled for green, oh well not many people use them anyway.
12/10/04, 12:00AM
Song: Pink Floyd - Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Today was a Pink Floyd marathon except for about an hour when I took a nap while I played Loreena McKinnett. I didn't really do a whole lot today, just chilled in the room like always. It's also about time for a new look around here (meaning my blog). Tomorrow look for a new one. I should pick up guitar again *sigh*.
12/8/04, 1:30AM
Song: Aerosmith - Livin' on the Edge
Next semseter I don't think I'll have to do any essays, can't wait until then.
12/7/04, 12:30AM
Song: The Mars Volta - Televators
So this weekend I failed to meet any of my goals. I didn't watch either movie, I didn't listen to any full Ayreon CD, nor did I read much. Guess that means I've got to do it this weekend. I would do it throughout the week but I've got an essay due Wed and another due next week so that's out of the picture mostly.
Today has been pretty good other than the raining. Took a nap between Calc and Ancient World, it felt quite nice. After Moser and the Chrises left to go to the concert I started reading Coming of Age in Mississippi and read about 100 pages spread out over the night. Also got to listen to Graveyard Mountain Home and Ghost Book by Chroma Key and I now know I made a good descisions putting GHM on my Christmas list. That's about it for today, lots of reading.
Oh, and here's a plug for Mega64.

Song: The Pixies - Where is my Mind
OOOOOhhhhh! was said by everyone as we heard the crash of the cars 100ft in front of us. No, this isn't a stroy, it's true. Walking back from parking we heard a car crash. At first there were tire screeching noises then a loud crash. It sounded a lot worse than it ended up being, though no crash is ever good. That was the excitment of the day.
Now for the opinion part of my blog over music today. This isn't a "my music is better than your music" thing either, it's about having people try new genres/artists. How many people have told you that you should listen to a certain band? probably too many to remember. Of those bands mentioned how many have you made an effort to listen to? probably not many. Personally when someone tells me I should listen to a band, I usually don't. They don't give me a good reason to most of the time. Here's and example: You should listen to the band Kansas they are this really awesome band. Me saying that doesn't make you interesed probably. Now let me say: You should listen to Kansas, they are a really awesome band from the 70's that play progressive rock music, they are all really talented and if you like Styx you will probably like them. That lets you know more about the band and maybe raise intrest if you like either prog rock, music from the 70's, or Styx. Now if I were to say all that again and have you listen to a few samples of their music, you'd probably be more apt to try them on your own if you liked what you heard, or vice versa. So next time you want to introduce a band to someone think about what you would do if someone was trying to convince you to listen to one you hadn't heard of. The End.

Song: Nightwish - The Phantom of the Opera (Cover)
Ate Subway, watched Jakob the Liar, attempted (and failed) to finish my UNIX, and now I'm chatting with Jayme. I've done almost none of the goals I set out for myself.
12/4/04, 12:30AM; Jenny's Birthday
Song: Rush - Red Sector A
Quick little entry before bed. Tonight I worked on my UNIX program for about 3 hours, and I only got mildly frustrated. If it had been calc for 3 hours I wouldn't have been able to do it, but I throughly enjoy programming. I'm guessing it'll take about another hour to finish up since I don't really know how to get the desired results I want.
12/3/04, 1:00AM
Song: The Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun
Today was much more boring than yesterday. Classes were really boring, no fun conversations, no gameing, and it contained homework. This weekend I have two fun goals; listen to all my Ayreon music and to watch the Princess Bride. Both should be pretty fun, even if I'm alone. Then I've got school related stuff to do, that won't be fun though.
12/1/04, 11:30PM
Song: Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Today seemed really long, but not in a bad way by any means. There were many fun and/or interesting things. First of which is "Preacher Bob." For those that may not know he's a crazy fanatical preacher that trys to offend people so they hit and he can sue the school; I've heard he has suits pending against 3 as of now. The stuff he says is just stupid, and I quote, "You aren't going to Hell because you are a cheerleader, you are a cheerleader because you are going to Hell," there no logic in that. He also says all frat and sororiety girls are going to Hell. He even has songs about it, good for a laugh.
The second thing is an IM conversation. This girl was talking to me trying to make me guess who she was. She kept giving me hints as to who she was, but they didn't help. She finally caved in and said who she was, come to find out the joke was on her-- she was talking to the wrong person! It was hard to contain myself. It ended with me warning her and then blocking, what fun!
The final thing is beating Half-Life 2. That made today a very sad day, the adventure is now over. But not for long, I'm going to play through again on hard difficulty. The end playing sequence was really fun, but the scipted, "cinematic" part kidna sucked, they just left it hanging. After beating it I downloaded the recently released HL2: Deathmatch. Now that is fun multi-player. The gravity gun is really fun to use.
I should have studied for my calc test tonight and I should have read, oh well, tomorrow is another day. Bye.
