She occasionally commutes to the hospital even now and is always carrying some sort of medication.

The mitochondria comes to life in Melissa's body. Eve takes control, her eyes turn from brown to emerald green, and her hair becomes disheveled. The green flames in her eyes combust people into flames showing the true power of Mitochondria. Eve continues to evolve, changing into new shapes, and being capable of control and manipulate the mitochondria in other organisms.
