You've all been asking for it, so here I finally give it to you, this isn't actually a news section, it's more of a fact page about FF. Anyway, enough of my yakking, lets get to the news!

FF7 becomes most popular game EVER after 1.5 million sales in 3 days at its Japanese debut, currently 6 million units have been sold internationally.

FF8 already out! Don't get your hopes too high, unless you got a MOD chip, fluent Japanese, and means of importing a game, you'll have to wait a while until FF8 comes out in the states, but there are plenty of reviews out there, I suggest you stick with the big name reviews(GamePro, EGM, PSM, etc...).

The Final Fantasy movie(yep, you heard me right) is scheduled to hit theatres sometime soon!! The movie will be completely computer animated, very much like Toy Story. If anybody remembers the superb graphics at the end of the game, when Cloud travels to Sephiroth, that is how the movie will look like the entire time, perhaps better. I expect it to be a big hit and I can't wait, but stop right there. Check your local video stores for the Final Fantasy cartoon movie. I have never heard of it before until I saw something on it at Videogames.com.

This has nothing to do with FF, but I found it interesting that another Metal Gear is coming out. Details are few and far apart, but there is an entire VR Training disk! Let's all hope that this is longer than MGS(took me about 6 hours on EZ).

There is already an FF movie out. It is a four part movie based loosely on the Japanese FF5. It takes place 100 years later, dealing with the descendants of the characters. It has chocobo, airship, and the 4 elements in it(Earth,Wind,Water,Fire) for you old school FF players. I suggest you look at some sort of Japanese video rental place, I doubt you'll find it anywhere else, or you could probably order it directly from Square.

Did you love the FF7 soundtrack? I did, it was compelling and suiting. Doesn't it make sense to make a soundtrack? Squaresoft is way ahead of you. There is a 5 disc set of the entire Nobuo Euomatso FF7 soundtrack. You could find it at a corner CD place(probably not a big name like Sam Goody or Music land), a Japanese rental place again, or directly from Squaresoft. I have no idea of the price.
September 7th is the big day, we have waited several years for this moment. Reserve your copies today is my advice, I already have, this is certain to make an even larger splash than Final Fantasy 7, and expect Final Fantasy anthology to be big too. We finally get a chance to play Final Fantasy 5. I'm there.

That's about all right now, and if anyone can give me any tidbits of info., I would be very happy, remember, this news section is off the top of my head, so something might be wrong.
