Depending on the wedding package
you choose, you and possibly others in your
wedding party will be entitled to alterations
included in the cost of the wedding. The
purpose of these items is to make your
wedding as special as possible and to give
you a lasting memento of your special
day. While you are free to wear these items
after the wedding, they have been created
for the express purpose of making your
wedding day memorable. They are not
created for resale nor to be given as gifts.
Weddings are offered to give you the
opportunity to celebrate your union with your
life-mate, not to give you a chance
to purchase alterations en masse. This is the policy
pertaining to wedding alterations:
Alteration Guidelines
Depending on your wedding package, you
may be entitled to have a certain number of
alterations. Please check to see what
you are entitled to for your specific package.
Items created by GMs will be CLOTHING
OR JEWELRY ONLY; no weapons, armor or
containers (backpacks, sacks) will be
available, with one exception (see Pende plan
weddings). As a rule of thumb, the appearance
description (when you TAP it) should
be no longer than 12 words and the look
description (when you EXAMine it) should be
no longer than 25 words in length [but
remember, sometimes less is more :)]. Such
alterations should be in good taste
and suitable for a wedding ceremony.
Pockets
If your wedding package includes a pocketed
item, such a pocket will reflect the
common-sense size of a pocket found
commonly on your item (i.e., you can't fit a chest
in a shirt pocket). Pockets will only
be made in clothing, not jewelry, and only in those
articles of clothing that would be reasonably
found to have a pocket (not ribbons, for
example). All pockets will be locked
in an open position regardless of button, clasp or
hook on the item. Items considered clothing
include cloaks, capes, boots, hats,
dresses, vests, sandals, pants, shirts,
skirts, robes and any other item that can
reasonably be considered clothing.
Resources for Alterations
The wedding couple MUST supply any and
all gems, furs and animal parts. If you wish,
you may supply an item that contains
these add-ons, but that item will be destroyed in
the process of salvaging the add-on.
For example, if you wish to add a diamond to
your wedding band, you may either buy
a diamond from a gemshop or, if you have a
teardrop diamond pendant, you may offer
the pendant to salvage the diamond,
knowing that the pendant and anything
associated with it will be destroyed and
unsalvageable. This also goes for special
materials such as silk, satin and velvet, etc.
Torn scraps of these materials can be
bundled and offered for alteration purposes, the
amount of each to be set by the wedding
coordinator.
You can also offer any clothing item
you already own to be altered, including auction
items, as long as they are not changed
from their original purpose (i.e. you can't alter a
scripted sack into a cloak). Your coordinator
will supply the actual wedding bands,
rings, armbands, etc, in your choice
of metal as long as that metal exists in-game (i.e.
no platinum) as a wedding present to
you and will add whatever gems you supply, as
well as an inscription if you wish.
Furs, pelts, and animal parts can be dyed to
reasonable colors (no neon green), but
unless precious metals are offered in the
correct quantity, any color denoting
them will be adjusted accordingly (silvery, golden).
Additional Perks for Fancy
Weddings
If you choose either the Tessera or
the Pende plans, you will have the option of adding
additional wedding party members.
For the Tessera plan, you may add members
for 250 dinars each which includes, for
the ladies, a gown/dress and flowers.
For the gentlemen, a shirt/tunic and a
boutonniere.
For Pende plan weddings, for 500 dinars
each, the ladies receive a gown/dress,
flowers, a headpiece and shoes. The
gentlemen get a shirt/tunic, pants, shoes and a
boutonniere. All items bought in this
manner must be identical. If two additional
bridesmaid places are purchased, for
example, they will both receive identical
dresses, flowers, etc. Pende plan weddings
can buy down to the 250 dinar plan if they
wish.
In addition, those Premium members who
choose the Pende plan are entitled to an
altered container as one of their alterations
for use during the wedding. The container
should be appropriate for a wedding
and will be "small sack" sized in your choice of
container. The container can be closeable
as long as the base container used is
normally closeable. This is in addition
to your pocketed clothing item. Limit is one
container per premium bride or groom,
maximum of two.
Let's Work Together!
While you are free to ask for any alteration
you wish, the ULTIMATE DECISION
whether you receive the alteration in
its exact form rests with the WEDDING
COORDINATOR and his/her support team.
If the coordinator cannot make your
alteration exactly as you want it, every
effort will be taken to get it as close to your
original idea as possible. If you are
unhappy with the alteration, tell your coordinator
what part of it is displeasing to you,
and be specific. Often what you want and what is
possible to get is just the matter of
a word or two, and the coordinators are willing to
work with you to get what you want,
but compromise is often the case. We will do our
best to make you happy, but if the item
isn't exactly what you want, please keep an
open mind and know that the coordinator
is also bound by policy and cannot cross
over the line. Although you have every
right to speak up if you are unable to get what
you want, THE DECISION OF YOUR WEDDING
COORDINATOR IS FINAL. Your
coordinator will make every attempt
to be in touch with you about these alterations (as
long as you're available) to discuss
changes. Remember that these items are for a
wedding ceremony, not for battle. So
if your bloodstained shirt with the words, "Deth to
All!" is rejected, you'll know why.
