The Vault
last updated: September 20, 1998
The Vault consist of a listing of 72 different items available in the Forgotten Realms Play-by-Mail Scenarios. Out of which only 23 items are craftable by communities, the rest must be found and acquired by befriending wandering bands of mercernaries and monsters; or a more direct approach is to capture the bounty through warfare and treasure hunting in ruins, lairs and dungeons.
The details provided are mostly in percentage values to allow easy comparison between items as to which items are more powerful or useful. I believe there will be choices for all to make. Some players will stick to a select number of items because they feel it is the best value for their gold or some believe the item is the strongest item they can craft or acquire. I believe there are those who will believe that they will craft whatever items they can afford in the current situation. Whatever it is representations in percentage format will allow the player to make the best choice.
The values represented by the legend below:
IT# | Item type Number |
Name | Description of the item |
Comm | The smallest community that can craft the item |
Gold | The intrinsic value of the item, these values are used to calculate the entity value the player owns |
HitB | Hit Bonus, extra hits to the stack; which makes these items with this attribute the most sort after. This is a rare attribute, and some players believe that this attribute is so powerful that the game designers have removed items containing Hit Bonuses from the new and current games |
MvB | Movement Bonus, this is an absolute number and is not a percentage, just add the value to your slowest unit in the stack. Remember this value is cumulative. |
MaB, MiB, MeB, MRB, DefB | Are in percentages and represent, Magic, Missile, Melee, Magic Resistance and Defense Bonuses respectively. |
IR | Is Information Radius. This is a useful item and quite common but unfortunately it is not craftable, not to worry though we have cheap characters that have this attribute > bandits |
