-----Sol frowns fretfully at the mention of the first four horses, but at the hearing of the rest, the Gorian looks at the stable boy in disbelief, "Are...are th' horses still there or not? What of ours?" Sol indicates his party with the last question.
-----Raven looks at Sarah with concern, "It does sound like one of their schemes. Since our last meeting went so badly, they might want to embarrass us by pulling a stunt like this. Damn! The more I think about it the more I think you're right!"
-----Raven frowns, "The problem is that we have no proof. If we had proof, they would pay for this."
-----Raven shoots Sol a worried glance, but otherwise says nothing. Raven then leans over and talks softly to Rinda.
-----"Destine showed me all the proof I need last night." Sarah says. Sarah digs into her pouch and pulls out an owl feather, one that Chessie had shed the night before, and pats her other pouch to make sure the small horn she had the foresight to purchase from Elandrin is there. "I will scout ahead and see if I can find those miserable thieves." She says angrily. "You guys find horses and prepare to depart. I will meet you in three quarters of an hour at a point we designate along the trail towards Redmarsh. You name it, I'll meet you there." Sarah pauses for the place to be decided.
-----Raven brings his hands up and then says, "Whoa, Seth and the rest should still be at the inn. Sol hasn't spoken with them yet about our plans right? If they are at the inn, Sir Greene's men should be able to pick them up for questioning. Attacking two of Sir Greene's guards is a very serious charge to say the least."
-----Raven then steps closer to Sarah, "You said you had a dream last night? What did the dream show you?"
-----"Okay, let's check there first then." Sarah says, annoyed. "The dream showed Seth riding on my horse. If he even touched Marlexana I'll rip his tongue out!"
-----"What are we waiting for! Let's go!"
-----Before everyone can rush off, Sir Greene explains, "There were three of your steeds that were taken. The fourth horse belonged to one in the company of our guard patrol. The guards at the gate were also put to sleep by some fiendish magic. As the horses were driven off, the guards in the towers saw three individuals riding them although they could not make out who they were. The guards at the town gates have been alerted although I fear it is too late. There was a company of people who left by the south gate early this morning."
-----Raven turns to Sarah, "Let's get after them then. I guess we'll head south. I should be able to track my own horse with ease."
-----Raven then says to Sir Greene, "Sir Greene, do you have some good horses you could loan us? We are going to have to take after them with all haste."
-----"Yes," the Knight of Oakwood responds to Raven, "we will supply you with horses if you can return them at a later time. We will also send the four guards with you that you requested."
-----As if on cue, Romney, Abram, Shema and Bradley step forward.
-----"Right," Sarah growls. "I'll fly ahead like I said earlier and see if I can find them. Those no good thieves! They can't stop talking about how virtuous they are until we decide to call them out on their overgrown egos and they respond by stealing our damn horses!" Sarah shudders. "If Marlexana is missing a single hair I really will perform the Soul Harvest. Bring a horse for me, Raven."
-----"Whose horse is left, Sir Greene?" Sol asks quickly, "If they've taken Thunder then whoever ends up riding him may be in for a shock. Warhorses tend not t'like more'n one rider."
-----"The horse that is left," Sir Greene explains to Sol, "is the white horse with the golden mane." Turning to the young mage, he indicates, "I believe the horse is yours, MiLady Night."
-----"They took Thunder?" Sol asks in disbelief. "They..." The warrior struggles to get the next part out, "...betrayed us?" A face devoid of emotion quickly masks the prior shocked one.
-----Like his visage, his voice also is remote of any feeling, "Sir Greene, I apologize for bringing this on yer home." Sol then looks to Raven, Rinda and the four guards, "Let's go. Raven, like ye said, ye'll have no trouble tracking th' amount o' horses they have."
-----Raven places a hand on Sol's shoulder, "Don't worry we'll find them and get Thunder back. By the Hunter these thieves will pay for their crimes."
-----"Those type consider it the duty of every other person to kiss their asses. Their egos know no limits. Let's take them down a few pegs." Sarah wonders why they didn't take Marlexana. She knew her father had enchanted the horse somewhat but she wasn't really aware of the extent of the magic. Maybe that had helped. "Raven, please make sure you bring Marlexana for me." Sarah says, and then departs.
-----Raven turns to Sir Greene, "How many hours have passed since the crime?"
-----"It has been at least five hours," Sir Greene answers.
