-----"Well, he's not the only freak I hang out with now," Kazel says with a weary look on her face. "And no I didn't see a thing. If you don't trust me, you can go ask Raven. Ta." With that, Kazel strides out the room and proceeds downstairs.
-----Sol reaches out a hand to Kazel's shoulder as she walks by. Not to impede, just to attract attention. "I don't think Sarah was questioning her trust of you. Hmph. We're going to all have to have a little talk if daybreak ever actually occurs." Sol says dryly, "We need to get whatever problems people have with each other sorted out. Sarah, I'm gonna check to see what's happening downstairs..." He goes downstairs and out the inn.
-----Sarah closes and latches the window and follows Sol. All the time she looks over her shoulder expecting the skeletons to come after her again.
-----By the time, Kazel, Sol and Sarah emerge out on the street, more men have assembled before Adames. They see Raven walking towards Seth. He asks him, "Seth, what is going on here? What’s this about undead being seen?"
-----Seth turns to Raven and smiles. "I have no idea Old Chap, just trying to get the village back home in bed out of the way so we can get to the bottom of what is really happening."
-----Rinda walks from the side of the inn shaking her head. She tells Raven, "I saw no tracks beneath the window other than those belonging to Dread."
-----She then looks at Sol and Kazel, "Did you find anything inside?"
-----Kazel replies to Rinda, "Nothing upstairs, either."
-----Rinda then turns to Sarah and asks, "Are you hurt, Sarah?"
-----"You men," Adames says to a group of six men, "patrol ‘round the homes n’ shops south o’ the trail road! You others take to the ones north o’ the trail! Three o’ ye stay with me and we follow the trail road westward to the edge o’ the village! Ye find somethin’, ye give a yell! Keep a’trollin’ till first light! Off with ye!"
-----Just as the villagers start out, Adames turns to Raven and Sol. "Looks like ye came to us on a night when the trouble couldn’t stay ‘way any longer!" he says with a hint of humor. "Jest hope it ain’ trouble with the wood elves headin’ this a’way!"
-----Seeing Sarah, Adames asks, "Ah, this be the littl’ lassie ‘at saw whats we be lookin’ fer? What ‘xactly we lookin’ fer?"
-----"Something....undead." Sarah says darkly. "I don't know for sure what it was. I don't think it’s a normal zombie or skeleton because it was looking in my window...on the second story. I've never seen a skeleton coordinated enough to climb walls before. Then again I don't hang around the walking dead that much, know what I'm saying?" Sarah is slowly regaining her composure from being scared out of her wits by a skeleton looking through her window.
-----A puzzled Raven says, "Did the peeping skeleton say or do anything Sarah?" Raven pauses. "Let me take a look at your room." He then starts towards the inn.
-----"No...but Gimplefwick recognized it...I think." Sarah says looking around. "I'm sorry I just panicked."
-----Just as Adames leads his men down the trail road, Sarah follows Raven inside. Rinda kneels down beside the wolf gently stroking its head. Suddenly, she looks at Kazel with an alarmed look. "Earlier in the woods," she says, "that feeling of being watched, you don’t think . . . ?" She lets the question hang in the air. She then asks Kazel, "Did you see anything when you had left the camp before Raven and I entered the woods?"
-----Kazel shakes her head. "Nah. Besides, if it was undead, wolf here surely would've smelled it. Right?"
-----Seth is still undecided about what is going on, but noticing the Dread Pirate has slipped up to bed, he decides that is sign enough the Dread Pirate is up to his usual antics.
-----"Well I think we should all get some sleep. Adames and the patrol should be able to deal with everything. Ta ta."
-----"There was something else this night." Sol speaks up suddenly, "A fair while before this skeleton appeared in front of Sarah's window, I caught sight of a figure who disappeared on me. The peculiar thing about it was that it had a dull white face. The rest of the figure was dark. It seemed like a man...I think I would've recognized a skeleton. When I followed it around a corner, I came across a closed off alley with no sight of him."
-----Kazel says, "Let's go see this alley again. Maybe it got through some passageway or window. Which way?"
-----Sol leads Kazel and Rinda down the trail road that runs through the village to one of the homes. Sol indicates that the figure he saw had slipped around the corner of the home.
