-----Seth smiles at the trio. "I have heard that there are many strange and diverse terrors out in the wilderness at the moment. We are simple town folk and do not go outside the walls much. Did you see any strange things in your travels here?" He watches Gimplefwick put his new sword away and then smiles at Kazel brandishing her new knife. He whispers so only Kazel and Gimplefwick can hear, "I don’t like these three..."
-----Kazel's thin ponytail whips about as she stops short and looks sharply at the sudden appearance of the creepy threesome. She then rolls her eyes a bit at Gimplefwick's comment. "Species isn't one of your criteria, is it?" she says in a low voice. Her attention however is still focused on the trio, as she idly taps her crossbow against her leg.
-----The older woman glares at the Dread Pirate with her green eyes and puts her hand on the girl’s shoulder encouraging her to move on. The young girl turns up her nose and disgustedly emits a "yyyuuucccckkkk!" As they begin to walk off down the street, their dwarven companion spits on the ground in front of the Halfling Pirate’s feet, and after staring at the three, trudges off behind his female companions.
-----"Looks like the rumours have really spread," Kazel watches the three go. "Let's go, we've enough to deal with already."
-----Seth nods at Kazel. "Yes mistress," and follows after her.
-----The thieves now move down the side street in front of the weaponsmith’s shop. They move in front of a couple of small homes and round the corner in front of a butcher’s shop. Kazel pauses for a few moments to peer in the darkened shop. Seeing nothing there, she then continues.
-----As they round the block, they see that at the end of the next block is the huge West Gate. A few guards stand milling about as two wagons make their way into the town. As the thieves move in the direction of the gate, it seems like the perfect night for mischief. The clouds cover any chance of the moon betraying the trio’s position in the shadows. Likewise the wind hides any sound of movement.
-----The thieves stick to the far side of the street and see up ahead on the opposite corner, the lights of the inn. They quietly make their way to the end of the street and stand looking across at the entrance to the West Gate Inn. Two men enter the front door and the lights in the tavern room are low. Most of the rooms on the second story of the inn are dark.
-----Seth nods at the window. "If you want, I can climb up and remove any traps and then unlock the windows and then lower a rope for you two to climb up."
-----Somewhat forlorn from his failure to improve human-halfling relations, Gimplefwick replies to Seth's idea, "Arrr, maybe we'd best try for going in both the door and the window. If'n ye both want to clamber up there, I'll go through the inn and try the door to their room. When ye hear me get inside, then ye burst in through the window, surprising 'em from behind. What do ye think?"
-----"Don't we need to know which room is number 5 first? I'll go in as well..." Kazel removes the leather cord on her ponytail and lets her hair down. "... separately. I don't think we should be seen together too much."
-----Seth nods, "That is a good idea Kazel. If they are on the look out for us, it is for two half-elves and a halfling. Although I guess that parrot might be a give away if Gimplefwick is on his own." Seth stares at the parrot, "Umm do you think you might be able to disguise the parrot as well or maybe let him wait outside?"
-----Seth makes sure everything is secure on his body and slips over to the wall and attempt to climb up to the window.
-----Gimplefwick looks askance as Seth begins his climb. He then glances at Kazel and says, "Arrr, I be havin' a dreadful suspicion about our enemies. It probably just be wild imaginings, but I been askin meself these questions. What sort o' creature travels about at night, comes back from the dead, has ancient eyes, can overpower two mercenaries and escape, and would be the perfect assassin? I notice that ye brought along a mirror. Might ye be havin the same idea that I am?" Gimplefwick narrows his eyes speculatively.
-----The Dread Pirate then continues, "Maybe it'd be fer the best if'n we just scouted this place out right now. If we find that they be here, then I have a pretty good plan fer dealin' with 'em on our own terms. I don't much care fer the idea o' breakin into their room and tryin to take 'em on their own turf. Who knows what traps they might be havin in there. Let's be steppin' over here in the shadows, out of sight. As soon as Seth comes back, I'll tell ye my plan." Gimplefwick then steps over into the shadows, out of view of the inn's windows. He then waits for Seth to finish peeking in the windows and join him.
