FileProgramCommentOSSize
scrmt321.zipScream Tracker v3.21An excellent program, good for newbs(My first tracker!) Specially good for creating s3m and Mod files. One of the easiest to learn.Compatible with s3m,mod and stm.DOS/WIN9x177KB
it214.zipImpulse Tracker v2.14This program is much like ST3, but a bit more advanced. It features limited mouse support and instrument options. It is compatible with It, s3m, mod, xm, mtm, and 669 files, but it can only save in It and s3m formats. It is an excellent program for people with a little experience(I use it!) The only flaw I know, is a certain crash problem on some computers when used under windows.DOS/WIN9x722KB
ft208.zipFast Tracker v2.08I haven't really messed with this program too much. My friends tell me its a great program though! It is supposed to be very easy to use and, as the name says, "fast". What I do know is that this program specializes in XM files, so if you're into XM modules, this program is for you!DOS/WIN9x281KB
mptrack.zipModPlug Tracker v1.00 beta2Here we have a really great program! A good windows based tracker?! Its about time! This program has a point-and-click-user-friendly-interface! It is also one of the most compatible programs I've seen. It lets you open mod,nst,s3m,stm,xm,it,mtm,okt,mdl,669,far,wav, and even midi files!! And lets you save in the most popular formats(s3m,mod,xm, and it) You can also convert midi songs to It format! This program has it all!WIN9x372KB
ptmid.zipPTMIDThis simple program allows you to convert midi files to mod or mtm modules. This program works very quickly and easily. The problem with this program, is that it makes modules with a maximum of only 8 channels. This means that if the midi file has more, they will be squished together into 8 and a lot of information will be lost or messed up! It also has some trouble controlling the speed and tempo of the songs. I personally don't like to use these programs because I think it is much easier and faster to start the song from scratch than to fix all the problems these converted files have!DOS/WIN9x147KB
midimod.zipMidiModWith this program you can convert MOD files to MIDI. It has a simple menu that allows you to choose the source mod file, the destination midi file and it lets you assign midi instrument patches to each mod sample before you convert it. As always, the results of the conversions are somewhat messy.DOS/WIN9x63.4KB
m4w230sw.zipMOD4WIN v2.30This is the best windows based module player I know! It has a nice interface, and great playback quality (up to 16bit stereo audio at 44Khz) It also plays a wide variety of modules like Mod, s3m, xm, mtm, far, stm, and even zipped files! It has easy access to sample information, module effects, song playtime and volume mixer. There are only 2 problems with this program; for some reason it does not support IT modules and, that it's not freeware like the others! You have to register the shareware ver. or else you will get an annoying countdown everytime you start it up! The program does not have to be registered online or via email, it can be done by obtaining the reg# and simply writing it down on the setup menu.(because of space limitations, I am linking this file to be downloaded from its official page)WIN9x1.22MB
mid2xm14.zipMidi to Xm file converter v1.4 From what I've seen of this program, it looks profecional and worthwhile. It lets you load the midi file of choise and set it up before the convertion. It lets you choose quantity of channels(up to 32) Events such as pan, tempo pitch and volume, and load and create XI intrument files. I have not yet learned to use it, but it does look promising! The only problem I have seen up to now is that it is not freeware! It has to be registered within a 21 day trial period.WIN9x510KB
