Oro (loosely translated means "Come on!") is a 140 year old Japanese hermit who lives with his pets in a cave in the Amazon jungle. Free from greed or ambition, he has opened his soul to the power of the Earth and lives in harmony with nature. The power of the Earth has allowed him to live for many years, and he has been able to reach his full fighting potential, beyond the skills of any ordinary man. As a result, he sealed his arm (some say by magic) to provide a more fair fight against his opponents. He now roams the earth in search of the perfect student to pass on his teachings to before his time comes...

Oro entered the third Street Fighter tournament in search of a student. He encountered many students, but none with the lack of greed and ambition that he felt were needed to reach their full potential. None that is, until he witnessed the battle of Ryu vs. Gill. In that fight, he sensed but a fraction of the power of the chi of Ryu as he used his powerful Shin ShoRyuKen to defeat Gill. He realized that Ryu was the only one on Earth capable of casting aside his human limitations and reaching his full potential fighting capacity. After the fight, Oro began his quest to search for Ryu...
