STORYLINE

Sagat ("protector"), the former Street Fighter champion. Dishonored as a result of his loss to Ryu, Sagat bears the scar of Ryu's ShoRyuken on his chest. Seeking a rematch with Ryu, Sagat has turned his allegiances to anyone who can give him the opportunity for his revenge.

The Muy Thai champion fighter, disgraced after his loss to Ryu in the first Street Fighter tournament. After his loss, an all-consuming hatred burned within him. He began training with a great ferocity to regain his title from Ryu. But his honor was lost. Consumed by bitterness, he killed a man by the name of Go Hibiki, a name that would torment him for the rest of his life. He blamed Ryu for his all-consuming sense of hatred, and entered the Alpha tournament in search of revenge. He was confronted by the son of Go Hibiki, Dan, who sought revenge for his father's death. Dan was easily dispatched, and Sagat would have killed him if Ryu had not intervened. Ryu again defeated him, and told him that a true warrior fought with skill, not with anger. Enraged, a beaten Sagat swore to Ryu that he would not stop until Ryu was dead. Later, a man known only as Bison asked Sagat to join his organization, called Shadowloo. Sagat declined, and began training again, seeking another shot at Ryu.

In the second Alpha tournament, Sagat came face to face with his pupil, Adon. Sagat, once again blinded by rage, was said to have killed his former student. He went to jail as a result of this crime, but was freed by M. Bison, whom then convinced Sagat to join the Shadowloo. He convinced Sagat that he could get his revenge on Ryu by joining the criminal organization.

And so, Sagat was named one of the Four Lords of the Shadowloo, and was Bison's second in command. Sagat was sent to retrieve Ken as a pawn in Bison's deadly game, and the two fought in a deadly battle. Ken barely survived, however, dispatching Sagat with his Hurricane Kick. Sagat has not been seen since, but rumors persist that he had gone back to Thailand after the second Street Fighter tournament, and is training in secrecy...
