Street Fighter: The Story

Part IV: Street Fighter Alpha 2

The Search for Ryu

She watched in the crowds as he fought in her hometown. Ever since that day, she wanted to be like him, like Ryu. Sakura trained hard and fought at school so often, she was suspended several times. She managed to tap her chi without any formal instruction, and believed she was ready. She entered the second Street Fighter Alpha tournament to find her idol.

Bison was defeated, but not dead, he marvelled at the power of his prey. Now after he was defeated, he wanted to capture that power, the power of Ryu.
Ken was disappointed that he did not get a chance to fight with his old friend, in a real fight. He entered the second Alpha tournament in search of Ryu and settle the old score.

Sagat was back, and still vengeful as ever. He had trained hard to defeat his true nemesis, to fulfill his promise and kill Ryu. Before he could find his foe, like, the first Alpha tournament, he was challenged by someone from his past....

Adon

The Muy Thai fighter had entered the first Alpha tournament in search of his former master, only to find that Sagat was defeated and had fled. Still wanting to prove himself to the world, Adon entered the second Alpha tournament to finish what he began.

This time, Adon found Sagat and told him that he was now Muy Thai champion. Sagat laughed at his former pupil and said that Adon will never compare to his strength and skill. Adon taunted Sagat and stated that his skill has surpassed his former master long ago. He said that if Sagat has lost to a weakling like Ryu than Sagat truly was weak himself. This pushed Sagat over he edge and the battle began.
In the rage of his reminded loss, he attacked relentlessly and Adon realized why Sagat was number one. Sagat ignored his former student's pleas and continued to attack his felled opponant. Sagat finally came to his senses but it seemed to be too late. He had killed Adon in his blind rage...

Bison

After being defeated in the first Alpha tournament, Charlie was back, and this time, it was not just under orders, it was personal. Again, he found the drug lord and confronted him. This time, Bison was busy planning other things and the fight was fairly even. Charlie eventully won out but during the fight, a Shadowloo soldier showed up without him noticing. After the fight, the soldier shot him the back and watched the body fall down a waterfall. Bison left leaving behind evidence of the battle: Charlie's ID tag....

Bison was rather weakened with his fight with Charlie and was still preoccupied. Again, he was confronted by Chun Li, but this time, she wasn't alone. Rose identified herself and stated that she was here to prevent Bison from abusing his powers. She was the warning of the ancients come to life and Bison knew it. The fight began and as Chun Li kept him busy, Rose weaved her magic. As the magic sealed away Bison's power, he managed to gain the upper hand on Chun Li and escaped. Rose faded away into the secret that she came from, and Chun Li could only wait until next time.

Akuma and Ryu

Sakura finally found her idol and faced him. Ryu was surprised that someone wanted to have him as a teacher. When Sakura showed off her abilities, Ryu was even more amazed to see her able to use her chi and fire Hadoukens herself. The two fought and although Ryu held back, he easily defeated her. She still wanted a him to train her, but he refused, saying that he was still learning himself and that he could teach anyone until he found the true meaning of the fight. Sakura had lost and settled for an autographed picture. She returned to Japan and continued to train. She pondered his words and thought that maybe someday...

Gen now knew the identity of his hunter and decided to turn the tables. He discovered Akuma was at the Alpha tournament. He entered the second Alpha tournament to hunt down the killer of his old friend himself. They met and the two fought in a huge battle but only came to a draw. Gen knew he could not defeat the demon and surrendered. Surprisingly, Akuma let him live under the oath that he would not reveal the secret of Messatsu...

Rolento and Sodom met for the first time since the fall of Mad Gear. Sodom admitted that he was defeated by the traitor, Guy, but he would succeed this time. Rolento thought so too, because this time, there was two of them.
Guy was confronted by the old members of Mad Gear. They blamed him for the fall of the crime organization and Guy said he heard this all before. They said that this time he would die for his betrayal and the fight began. Guy could not take on two at a time and was getting the worse in the battle, until his friend showed up. Ryu told the two attackers that there was no honour in fighting with unfair odds, so he was here to even it. Ryu took on Rolento and easily defeated the former Mad Gear member, leaving Guy to face off against Sodom. Guy easily defeated Sodom after Rolento was out of the picture and Sodom fled to America.

Ryu found the home of Akuma on an island not far from Japan. He faced the killer of his master and said that maybe this time, Akuma would able the one to fall. The two fought, and with the previous battle with Gen, Akuma was weakened enough not to be able to defeat Ryu. They fought to a draw and Akuma told Ryu that he had the potential to awaken the same great powers he possessed. With that as a final message, he destroyed his lair, in order to protect his secret once more.

After the battle, Ken finally met up with Ryu, and for the first time since the first Street Fighter tournament, they had a real fight. Ryu was still feeling the effects of the battle with Akuma and his thoughts wandered to his rival, Sagat. Ken eventually won out but knew Ryu wasn't at top form. With a few words of advice to his old friend, he gave Ryu his red hair tie and told him to forget Sagat and worry about the fight. Ryu thanked Ken and the two parted once more....
