Adventure
1: An Ill-Starred Start, or Haggis
is good for the liver!
Characters
involved: All
Overview: Kit, arriving on the M4 in search
of her "uncle" Zolar to get away from her father, meets
Graeme, Ido and Boaz in the bar, thanks to the magic that is Umino.
Zolar has recently left on one of his random unannounced hiatuses,
however, and so Kit is forced to wait. Before the introductions
can be completed, however, there's a call for a repair on a ship
in the docking bay. Boaz goes to investigate, and finds the VT2
strangely silent. He soon finds, with the help of Seenine, a group
of hijackers in the engine, trying to steal it! Despite Seenine's
willingness to fight, Boaz balks and they are discovered. Boaz
calls for security, and Graeme rushes to the docking bay, tailed
closely by an outraged and confused Kit and Ido, who can never
pass up a chance for excitement. Unfortunately, due to some in-party
discoordination and bad luck, the hijackers seal themselves up
in the VT2 and turn the ship's weapons on the group. Despite some
beserker-style boarding action by Kit, the hijackers manage to
blast their way out of the M4 and away. Afterwards, Kit, having
lost her father's ship and now really destitute, accepts the offer
to work aboard the M4. The saga begins...
Interesting
Moments: Kit, being firey as usual, charges
the boarding ramp of the M4.... at the same time Graeme throws
a grenade. Kit manages to duck behind cover, but it gives the
'jackers time to close the ramp and seal themselves in. Afterwards,
Kit climbs up on top and tries to arcweld through the hatch and
gun port. She's so desparate to get her ship back that Ido must
drag her onto a repulsorsled and out of the hangar just before
the air shield goes down.
Graeme tries to launch an ion missile at the ship, but is stopped by Ido, who is protecting Kit. The point becomes moot when the hijackers open up with the main gun, bringing flaming wreckage down on the pair that they barely escape.
