Alhabi
The Alhabi
are a bat-like race that inhabit a small planet in the Mid-Rim.
They are wiry, with thin but fully functional arms and legs, and
a bony chest. They have four-fingered hands, with the fifth folding
back to make the wings. Their wings have become mostly vestigal,
and are often out of sight, folded under their arms. However,
they can extend them to a span that can turn a jump into a full-fledge
glide. The Alhabi have enlongated faces with bat-like features
and small, sharp teeth. Their eyes are almost always a solid color;
the most common colors are yellow, a teal-blue, and red. They
occasionally have small areas of bristly fur, which can range
from a creamish color to brown or black.
The Alhabi
one of the many races discovered by the Old Republic. Early in
history, a fledgling Sith lord whose name is lost to antiquity
tried to seduce the Alhabi into becoming Sith servants, but the
Alhabi refused and kept him at bay until the Jedi were able to
step in. It is from this incident that the Alhabi have gained
their legendary integrity; an Alhabi will almost always do what
he or she feels is right, and they rarely compromise themselves.
Alhabi (D20 Stats)
Species Traits:
- +2 Strength, -2 Constitution.
Alhabi are wiry and strong, but their thin frame can't take much
damage.
- Limited Flight: The Alhabi's
bat ancestry allows them limited flight. By extending the membranes
under their arms (a free action), an Alhabi can increase his
Jump distance to +2 meters per number of points over 10 instead
of 1/3 (see the chart for the Jump skill in the Core Rulebook).
In addition, there is no maximum distance.
- +2 species bonus to Climb
and Jump checks. The Alhabi's ancestry of flight allows these
actions to come naturally.
- Darkvision. The Alhabi are
naturally nocturnal, and have eyesight adapted to this.
- Automatic languages: Basic
and Alhabian.
Favored Class: Scout
Adventurers: Alhabi, while not naturally adventurous,
sometimes venture offworld. Those who do rarely return to the
sedate life of their homeworld. Their sense of honor will often
turn them against the injustices of the Empire if they encouter
it, though not nessecarily enough to join the Rebellion (though
there are many involved with it). Some adventuring Alhabi are
criminals, exiled from their world according to ancient law. These
exiles are never welcome back to their homeworld. The most notable
of this group is the Black Sun agent / psychotic murderer Vicious.
