Eliminator 434 Assassin Droids

The Eliminator 434 is an old-model assasin droid, originally designed and built years ago in the Old Republic when such things were still legal. Constructed by the now-defunct company Weapons of War (NASDAQ: WOW), this versatile and durable assasin droid can still be seen owned or employed by galactic powers that "lack certain values."

The Eliminator was designed to be sold to the Trade Federation as elite units for its robot armies. The Federation, however, found the Eliminators ill suited for the droid brain control that they liked due to its unintended independent spirit. The order was canceled, and most of the already-built Eliminators found their way into the underworld, where they were appreciated for their mix of heavy combat durability, lower profile and ability to operate intelligently and independently.

The main selling points of the Eliminator was its relatively small frame and semi-modular design. Unlike many huge, clunky assassin droids of the day, the Eliminator could (and still can) pass as a humanoid, with the aid of large cloaks and disguises. The rather limited armament this small frame allowed was offset by the ability to "change out" the droid's secondary weapon, on its right arm. Eliminators can be seen with extra blaster cannons, stunguns, vibroblades, grenade mortars, flamethrowers and any number of extra weapons (the Eliminator Ramses is equipped with a miniature concussion missile launcher, among other things).

The strongest "feature" of the Eliminator, however, was not any of its weapons or armor- it was its cunning mind and independent spirit. Made to be intelligent enough to improvise and react quickly to changing battlefield situations, many Eliminators began to develop headstrong and independent attitudes more quickly than would otherwise be expected from a droid designed to dish it out and soak it up. Frequent memory wipes managed to contain this in many Eliminators, however, those droids that managed to avoid such treatment developed unique personalities of their own. Combined with heavy armor, weapons and the ability to disguise oneself, Eliminators make a deadly foe.
