Heavy Zergling Offensive

Protoss Strategy

Start the game with mining with your drones and scouting with an overlord. I recommend the 8th drone to scout the map and find your opponent. The ninth drone should be used to morph in a spawning pool. Build an extractor and overlord, then start pumping in more drones and build a second hatchery and if you can, push the hatchery to three all in one base. Rally point the three in the same point. Continue pumping drones, overlords, sunken colonies and zerglings. This strategy is not effective in an aerial strategy.

  • Build an evolution chamber and upgrade the melee weapons all the way to level 3.
  • Upgrade both speed and attack upgrades in the spawning pool. To upgrade this, hurry to attain Hive structure.
  • Mutalisks can greatly support this war machine of zerglings.
  • With the adrenal glands and +3 damage, the zerglings get a whooping 24 damage per 2 seconds.
  • Combined with the dark swarm of the defiler, your zerglings are greatly shielded from the long range and air attacks.
  • Do not bother wasting resources on zerg armor because the zerglings are very weak in health and armor almost doesn't matter. Use the resources instead for mutas and defilers.
  • Queens can serve great purpose in the zergling offensive with their ensnare and spawn broodling abilities.
  • This offense takes its power upon sheer numbers to confuse and surround the enemies. Psi storms and lots of bunkers can devastate attack from the zerglings.
