-----"The hills might even give some of us cover to fire arrows at them," Rinda adds.
-----Suddenly, from across the way, one of the mounted men waves a lance in the air. This man appears to wear plate mail and could be a leader for this troop. His demeanor seems friendly although grumbles and growls are heard from the hobgoblin ranks.
-----Garrison grimly huffs at the invitation. "That's right, we're going to be the best of friends," he grumbles in a low tone.
-----Sol cranes his neck to eye Raven, and the Gorian's eyebrow raises as he questions the hunter, "Well, shall we have a chat t'them? Perhaps th' rest o' ye should be prepared t'ride fer th' hills at my signal."
-----As the group talks, Raven pulls a potion from his pack and drinks it. Raven smiles a bit and says under his breath, "That's better."
-----Raven says to Sol, "Chat? Only if that would give Sarah a chance to take out the leader with a spell like she did with the orc leader at the keep. I like Sarah's idea to draw the leaders away and kill them."
-----Raven motions to the hill, "We could pepper them with arrows from the hill at first. We could then withdraw and lure them away from the main force." Raven motions with his eyes towards the direction they just came from, "We know the area we are going to use, so we'll have the advantage."
-----"As ye prefer." Sol replies softly, looking faintly uncomfortable. He nudges Thunder, and the stallion starts forward at a light canter. "I'll signal when t'begin th' attack, but wait until then."
-----"We cannot assume that simply due to circumstances that this group is evil." Sarah says cautiously. "We should wait to see what their leader has to say before we attack. We would not want to find innocent blood on our hands because we were too hasty."
-----Despite her speech, Sarah is ready to fight them should they prove evil. An almost vehement nod can be seen from Sol ahead, as he rides towards the opposing group.
-----Garrison's expression darkens as he says, "Leading a troop of hobgoblins! There's no doubt in my mind that they're evil."
-----Even though he is still injured, Raven looks more healed after quaffing the potion. As the young warrior rides off, Raven's wolf looks up at its master as if it is anxious to meet the enemy. For a moment, everything seems quiet as Sol rides toward the army.
-----Lovan's eyes narrow as he looks over the front line of riders in front of the hobgoblins. Leaning over, he addresses Sarah as he keeps his attention focused on one of them. "If you need to blast one of them, girl, I see where you need to aim your spell." He then points out a man wearing dark plate armor with a horned helm. The attire looks familiar to foes found in a ruin not far from where the party first met Lovan. The rider the Storm priest points out is a priest of Helator!
-----"If this army rushes, they will feel the fear of the Rager!" Lovan says as he keeps his voice low.
-----Rinda suddenly gasps and it can be told that she fears for Sol as he advances. Looking at Raven, she quickly says, "Do not forget your Hunter's Bow, my love!"
-----"We shouldn't have let him go!" Caranip says quivering, close to tears as she peeps out from behind Sarah.
-----Pil's sword blade hisses loudly as it leaves its scabbard. Pil's face is burning with anger.
-----"Easy, dammit!" Strolum says as his face turns almost as red as his hair. Leaning toward the big bronze man, he adds, "Don' be stirrin' trouble up yet!"
-----Dilton just stares wide-eyed after the Gorian.
-----Strangely, Garrison seems to relax. Looking around at his companions, he says, "Watch for Sol's signal. If we all do what we do best, I think we'll survive this. Take cover if you see those hobgoblins grab their bows."
-----By this time, Sol and Thunder have reached the leaders of the humanoid army and stand before them. Sol raises his arm to the riders in greeting. Immediately, the leader raises his lance so that it is pointing toward the sky. Even though snarls are heard among the humanoids, it is apparent Sol is speaking with the riders.
-----Raven says to Rinda, "I'll have it at the ready. May my aim be true."
