-----The three rogues, Dalyor, and the mercenaries walk out of the keep and after a short way into the courtyard, slink back into some shadows. Across the way, they can see the main gate of the keep and the stable building where the horses are kept.
-----The Dread Pirate stops Seth and says, "If'n they have a stable boy have him saddle up Sol's group's horses. And we'd best leave right after we get to the inn and pay Maime."
-----Dread smiles happily, glad to be about some nefarious thieving again, "Alright then, I'll head fer the inn and get everybody ready to go. I'll pay off Maime as well. I still have me share of Zharta's reward gold. We can always sell our 'additional' horses when we get back to Hearthorn. Or give 'em to our mercs as a bonus or as part of their pay. Anyway, I'll meet ye at the inn." Dread then races off for the inn with Brandel and Krord, where he intends to roust the innkeeper out of bed and pay Maime. Dalyor sniffles and follows after them.
-----Kazel says to Seth, "Maybe it's best if you go talk to the stable hand alone if we can't steal the horses outright. That way no one can point us out when asked afterwards. If we can just unhitch the horses and open the doors I can command the horses to come out by themselves. Or make a whole stampede if that works better." Kazel smiles as she flashes her ring of animal control.
-----Seth dons his hat and his image changes into a warrior looking close to the form of the young Gorian. Just as he and Kazel are about to make their move, they see someone come out of the front of the keep and head toward the stables. It is Sol! Sol doesn't appear to see them as they stand across the courtyard.
-----Kazel motions the others to stay out of sight and look from a hidden position. She then puts on her invisibility ring but still goes with stealth as normal towards the stables. She first observes what Sol does and the layout of the stables and exit paths for the horses, and if there is anyone stationed there at this hour before acting on anything.
-----As Kazel walks toward the stables, she sees two guards talking with the stable boy just outside the doors. The stables itself is a building perhaps forty feet in length and fifteen feet wide. Two doors open out from it at opposite ends and both doors face the courtyard. The stables are lit up by carefully placed magical globes, dimly illuminating the interior.
-----As Kazel skirts around the talking people, she quietly enters the stables and looks for Sol. She sees him down by where his large horse is quartered. Sol moves quietly himself as if not to disturb the horses' sleep. He hoists his saddlebags across his shoulders and quietly leaves the stables.
-----Kazel reappears where Seth is and tells him, "Well, there are two guards and the stable boy there. We'll have to wait or get them away somehow, or I can make the horse stampede out, or you can talk to him as Sol." She tickles her chin looking undecided. "We don't have that much time and I think having 'Sol' talk to them would be best. Should we stay here or go with you?"
-----Seth nods at Kazel's suggestion. "You wait here, we only want them to see Sol. No need for us all to get branded as horse thieves, although Kazel should follow, if you stay invisible and near me, just in case."
-----Runik and Marast stay behind as Seth and the invisible Kazel move forward. As they approach the stables, the two guards are still speaking with the stable boy. One of the guards look in Seth's direction and, seeing the form of Sol, speaks up with an "Evening, sir."
-----Seth nods at the guards and then turns to the stable boy. "There is trouble a foot tonight, make ready mine and my friends' four horses, with full tack. Oh, and a pack beast as well."
-----He turns back to the guards and says to them, "Could you help the stable boy? While I was taking my saddle bags back the Templar Zharten asked me to make haste!"
-----Kazel stands by to pacify the horses, or the men, in case anything goes funny, but otherwise follows Seth when he leaves.
-----The boy begins to start quickly toward the stables but then stops and turning looks at 'Sol' with a funny look. "Pack beast, sir?"
-----The two guards look at Seth in his disguise with strange expressions. They seem to closely study his face. Finally one of them says, "Templar Zharten? I don't remember any message coming in from the Holy Temple this night of any urgency." They exchange confused but suspicious glances.
-----Seth looks at the guards, "Well the message was just passed to me and now I am passing it to you. You better head on over to the temple then."
-----Seth turns to the boy, "Just the horses my lad, just a Gorian expression!"
-----The two guards look at each other with unreadable expressions. They both cast a salute and walk towards the gate. The stable boy shrugs and runs into the stable.
-----Seth begins to help the boy, to make things go a little quicker.
