-----"If we enter a room, make sure th' place is devoid o' creatures first before ye look about. If ye see something odd, or some creatures, tell us. After a room has been found safe enough, we'll usually search th' room before moving on. If ye find yerself with something ye can't handle, call out, an' help will be wi' ye shortly. As fer which parts we need t'search first? Well, I'm interested in finding what's running this place, if anything. So if anything seems t'indicate where that might be, we'll head there. Any other questions, feel free t'ask at any time." His speech ended, Sol spins on his heel and walks back through the vines, headed towards the hall with the original group of hobgoblins.
-----As everyone falls somewhat into the formation that Sol suggests, Garrison chuckles and tells Raven, "Sol forgot to tell them that our usual marching order is Sol running ahead of us while the rest of us are trying to catch up!" The woodsman flashes his big smile while occasionally grimacing at the bashes and bruises he carries.
-----The head guardsman Quade identified as Edwin Farrington orders his men to strike up a torch and within a few seconds, one is readied as the assembly enters in through the vines.
-----"Oh no, Sol," Quade says to Sol almost squelching a chance of surprising who knows what, "We're not priests, we study the magical and arcane arts. We do, however, follow the Great Law Giver."
-----Rinda suppresses a laugh as she pushes through the vines after Raven.
-----Ursulena quickly asks Sarah as she approaches the vines, "What kind of spells do you favor in case we encounter more hobgoblins or lizards?"
-----As Sarah enters with the three Trinity Seekers behind her, she steps past the slain bodies of the four lizards.
-----Quade looks down on the dead lizards mouthing thoughts quietly to himself as he steps past the reptilian bodies.
-----"Astounding!" Kantar exclaims as he first sees the dead creatures, "Obviously, this species selected this site as their habitat, . . . but of course, that is purely speculation on my part."
-----Ursulena looks fascinated while also slightly repulsed by the carcasses. She clings a bit to Sarah's arm while her voice seems to raise an octave. "Eeee!" she squeals as softly as she can, "You killed these creatures?"
-----Just as the small troop of guardsmen push through the vines, Sol, Raven, Rinda and Garrison are across the entryway staring into the dark main hall of the ruins. All four are silent and their bodies tense and very alert.
-----"Quiet, dammit!" Garrison snaps out without turning around.
-----Just then, a vicious howl erupts from out of the dark main hall where the first troop of hobgoblins was fought. Those nearest the doors can see two large forms rushing toward them from out of the dark. The forms seem to be about nine feet tall but hunched forward as they lumber along. Even before the light from the outside openings shine on their mottled green hides, the adventurers recognize the awful howls of the trolls!
-----"This...is better! 'Ware th' storm!" Sol calls as he rips his sword from its scabbard and meets the closest troll head on, immediately swinging the blade in as wide arcs as possible. A fervent grin has lit up the Gorian warrior's face, as the rush of battle hits him full tilt.
-----"The hurty kind." Sarah replies to Ursulena, blasting the trolls with her spectral discs. "But if I may give you some advice, the best way to deal with monsters of any kind is to find an unstoppable warrior and put them between you and your enemy."
-----Raven turns to the troop of guards and then says with a snarl-like smile, "Time to dirty your clean swords." Raven draws his swords and moves forward to meet the other troll. The hunter's stance is one of defense.
-----"Dark Encounter number 1!" Quade suddenly yells as the adventurers make their move.
-----"Light two torches and guard the rear!" The lead guardsman yells.
-----Three sparkling multi-colored discs leap forth from Sarah's hands spinning toward the hulking figures in the dark. One immediately strikes the troll on the left in front of Sol. It pierces the monster's mottled hide causing damage. Angered, the beast continues toward the young warrior facing it.
-----The other two magical discs fly toward the two trolls. As each disc reaches its respective target, they split into seven smaller disks that begin to spin around each troll at an incredibly rapid pace. Suddenly it appears as if each troll is blanketed in a rainbow. However, this seems not to slow the creatures as each troll quickly steps through the whirlwind of colors! The column of rainbow colors vanishes behind the monsters.
