-----Rand then runs to one side of the tavern and points. The others can see that about one hundred feet to the west of the tavern are a couple of houses. From one of them, a rider on a horse gallops away heading toward the south. The rider appears to be Rand’s brother.
-----Sol runs towards another horse next to the tavern. He bravely vaults onto the horse and takes off after Heiros. Raven puts his bow away and starts looking for his horse. Seeing it yards away, he begins running toward it.
-----Soon Raven climbs into the saddle and rides swiftly away after the two young riders. Sarah calls to her charmed bandit and the man rides the horse over. Sarah gets on her horse and follows Sol and Raven.
-----Sarah and her charmed bandit ride charging out of the small village. Outside the village they pass a hill on the left, which has a strange-looking domed structure atop it. After about a mile, Sarah sees Sol and Raven ahead standing by another structure just off the road in the distance. It appears to be an old tower. They appear to be looking around. Sarah rides up to them and asks if there is any sign of Heiros.
-----Raven looks around, "Where is Zentil? Sure could use his knack of opening locks." Raven asks Sarah, "Did you see where Zentil went to?" The group can hear Raven grumble saying under his breath about elves. Raven then turns to Sol, "Are we sure he's in there? Where's his horse? I say we just take his horse and let him walk back to town. We can always come back for him later."
-----Raven looks up at the tower and yells, "Coward! Where is your dark god now you jackass?!" Raven says, "Bah! He ain't worth it. Let’s get back to seeing who attacked Broacter's keep. Let’s find the rest of party and head out."
-----About that time, Thalog and Rand ride up on their horses. Everything around the tower remains quiet except for the gentle rain. Thalog seems to point his nose toward the tower. "Rand’s brother is in there? Would this be the tower that Andra mentioned?"
-----The mage then turns toward Rand, "Is your brother a mage or priest?"
-----"Raven, we should deal with Rand's brother now, and yes, he entered this tower. That disk he was holding up when he enchanted us was too damn close to the ones the witches had for my liking. Also I reckon Thalog is right, this could very well be the tower we are looking for. Which also means ol' Heiros here could be very much into the problems we are trying to fix."
-----Sol takes a deep breath after his speech, before continuing. "If Zentil's still back at Tru, then we'll have to deal without him. He can look after himself, I'm sure."
-----Raven stops and says, "This is the tower? Damn! I don't like this at all. It just doesn't feel right." Raven looks back to town, "God damn elf..."
-----Raven turns around and rubs his chin as he looks over the tower, "Okay, let’s see if we can break this damn door down." Raven walks up to the door and waits for Sol.
-----Sarah murmurs something about fools rushing in, but seems to be in support of whatever the group wants to do. She gets out her darts. "It may be that your brother is charmed by a magician working in this tower, Rand," she says. Then she strokes her bandit’s cheek, "Not that I know anything about that."
-----Rand stares at the tower intently. Without looking at Thalog he replies in a distant voice, "My brother is a warrior, beyond that... I don't know. He preaches against all magic. Blames it for all the evils in this world. How, or why he now practices, I cannot say."
-----Thalog raises an eyebrow at Sarah’s jest and then turns towards Raven before he can charge the door. "I can understand your frustration," he says to the ranger. Lowering his head, he continues, "Zentil is waiting back at the tavern. He said he was tired of the rain." Looking back at Raven, he says, "I wonder if maybe there is some wisdom in what he did whether he realized it or not."
-----Before he can draw contemptible stares from the others, Thalog explains, speaking in a low voice, "I agree with Sol that Rand’s brother must be dealt with whether the enchantment he is under, is of another or merely his own." Turning to Sol, he says, "You just said our friend inside had a disk similar to the one the witches had. The fact of the matter is, the witches weren’t really witches. They were followers of the Dark Goddess, evil priests! Do we really want to charge in there? If Andra said this was an important stronghold, I’m betting Rand’s brother is not alone in there and I don’t think you and Raven want to wear another of those dark spheres. Of course, that could be the least of our worries." Thalog casts an uneasy eye toward the upper part of the tower. "I’m sure they are aware of us now. The question is, do we run right in giving them easy targets or do we regroup to plan another strategy?"
-----Sarah nods at Thalog’s statement, "Call me a spoil-sport but if we waited a day I could use all my spells. Right now I don't have any that would work in combat."
