----- Raven studies the black stone. "Let's search the dead orcs for anything that might help us know why Arliss is ill." Raven then starts to search the dead orcs.
-----Rand nods to Raven and proceeds to help him.
-----Raven kneels down beside the first large orc he killed. From its belt pouch, he draws forth six gold pieces. The humanoid appears to have nothing else than the worn studded leather and ragged fur it wore. Raven then checks the sword it carried. He carefully draws it from its sheath. The sword blade, though showing a few signs of corrosion and being notched, appears not to be covered with anything poisonous.
-----Rand moves toward the bodies of the other four orcs that had emerged from the ruined building's window. First, he sees the body of the humanoid he killed with one of his arrows. Its body lies flat except for the head propped against the building; its neck possibly broken. The orc's sword lies to one side. Rand finds seven gold pieces in the belt pouch.
-----Thalog keeps his staff posed at the four orcs he had earlier enspelled. The larger orc with the skullcap sits leaning forward fuming and lowering its head away from the sun. The one-eyed orc and the skinny humanoid nervously watch the mage not daring to meet his gaze. The smallest orc lies on the ground, perhaps more than just unconscious.
-----Thalog turns slightly to keep an eye on Arliss. The tall body of the paladin lies with an uneasy look on his unconscious face.
-----Thalog then begins to study the orcs. The small one lies sprawled; its bound arms behind its back. Its eyes, halfway open, seem to stare at nothing. The lower half of the orc's face is wet with blood from the nose area. There appears to be no motion around the chest area. The small orc looks dead.
-----Raven moves toward one of the orcs he had killed by the building. Like the orc before it, the humanoid seems unremarkable other than the two gold pieces it carried.
-----Another orc Rand searches has four gold pieces.
-----Raven and Rand finally make their way to the last orc defeated by Arliss. Rand unloads six gold pieces from its pouch and then looks at Raven who is staring at the humanoid's sword. Following Raven's line of sight, Rand sees a syrupy, grainy resin that covers the weapon spotted with the paladin's blood.
-----Rand strides over to Raven and hands him 6 gold pieces, "I found this on the orcs, here's your share". Rand then walks over to Thalog and hands him 6 gold repeating his explanation of where he had come upon it. Rand turns from Thalog and nears where Raven is examining the orcs. He points at the grainy residue on the blade of one of the orc's weapons. "Any idea what this is? Some sort of poison, I imagine".
-----Raven takes the gold. Raven examines the poisoned blade. "It must be poison. Rand, was there anything else on the orc that used this blade?"
-----Raven rubs his chin and looks toward the building where the orcs were living. "We should explore that building for the antidote. I'll ask the orcs if they know anything about the dead orc that used this blade."
Raven walks over to the three orcs and speaks to them.
-----The orc with the eye patch looks nervously about. The orc with the skullcap has its face toward the ground; a fierce growl is heard from its throat. The skinny orc looks up at Raven. After a moment's hesitation, it speaks to him.
-----Raven says to the group, "The orc says we can find the poison in that building. The orc then said they got the poison from some humans that live in some ruins. I'll ask where these ruins are located." Raven
turns back to the orc and asks the question about the other ruins.
-----The skinny orc answers, "Da ey," as it swings its head toward the west.
-----Raven says, "Well, the orc says the humans can found towards the west. Who wants to help me search the orc's house?" Raven takes a moment to check on Arliss.
-----Thalog walks over to Raven and says, "I will help you search the orc house." Thalog glances at the small orc, "I think the small orc is dead because his chest is not moving." Thalog now faces Raven and
says, "Before we go could you ask the orcs if those humans, the ones that gave them the poison, also gave them the black stones?"
-----Raven looks at the small orc. "Not breathing is the leading cause of death in orcs." Raven gives Thalog a slight smile, "I guess I don't know my own strength. I'll ask the breathing orcs if the humans that gave them the poison also gave them the black stones." Raven turns back to the orcs and asks the question.
-----Rand and Thalog hear the skinny orc answer Raven sheepishly as it looks at the other humanoids. The orc wearing the skullcap angrily glares at the skinny orc. The one-eyed orc looks down at the ground.
-----Raven gives the skinny orc an odd look. Raven then turns to the group, "Okay, I'm confused. Now the orc is saying that it was orcs that gave them the poison and the gems not humans. Let's explore their building and see what we can turn up. Rand, give a yell if you need help. Ready Thalog?" Raven keeps a sword drawn and then heads toward the building.
