The scenario for this campaign is an invasion of Bear Island, a Norwegian territory, by a separatist Russian republic, Karelskaya. NATO forces must first gain control of the sea and airspace in the vicinity of the island and then mount an invasion.

The campaign consists of 45 missions, but can be played through to the end in only 8-11 missions. The Russian Federation is neutral at the beginning of the campaign, but can be brought into the conflict against NATO by the player's actions, mainly by shooting down their aircraft. Additional features of the campaign include:

• Your aircraft kills count; if the player shoots down enough enemy aircraft he or she will face a reduced threat in later missions.
• Mission success often depends on the performance of the flight, not just the player.
• Success can be achieved in some missions by destroying less than 100% of the designated targets.
• The player is penalized for shooting down friendly aircraft.

NB Although the Karelskaya campaign has undergone some testing, it is fairly complex and very probably still contains bugs. If you find any bugs please report them to me so I can fix them in later versions.
