Ariel’s vacation

Ariel Lynn Chyld is the character from Darkchylde

Ariel Lynn Chylde sat on the warm sand of San Diego beach. The sun was rising and casting a golden glow over the water. It was so calm, so peaceful, the only sound was the whisper of the waves. There was no one else around for miles. The beach seemed so huge and yet there was not even one soul. Ariel started to wonder why? Was this some kind of personal property? Should she get her ass up and leave? But even though those questions haunted her mind she couldn’t force herself to stand up and go. Truly she didn’t even know how she got here, but this was the vacation she wanted since this whole mess began. Where exactly did she get the neon blue bikini she was wearing? So many questions. Ariel didn’t bother to wonder. Things have been weird enough in her life. She should just enjoy this moment.

Ariel sat on the quite shore of San Diego for god knows how long. It seemed like hours but the sun wasn’t even fully out when she snapped to her senses. She finally forced herself to get up. Her long golden hair waved in the breeze. She kept expecting someone to yell at her, tell her to get off the beach. Or the police to come to arrest her. But nothing happened. She walked over to the water and stuck her foot in. The water was warm. And it sure had been a long since she just went to the beach to hang out and swim. Longer then she could remember. She wished for a moment that Perry was here and that none of the hectic weird crap had happened. That she had made friends and actually gone to her Prom and now was enjoying the summer as any normal teenager would. And with that thought Ariel wandered into the forward, took a deep breath and dived into the water. She could forget everything now and worry about her troubles and her questions later. She thought as she swam under the waves. She resurfaced far from shore and took a deep breath of air. Her hair was pasted to her head and the back straps of her bikini whirled around like a snake. She turned around to face the shore and yelped, she was startled at how far she swam. She didn’t even have a chance to yell out when she felt something wrap around her ankle and pull her under in a flash. It was all so fast she didn’t even know what happened. She was surrounded by water and whatever had pulled her under had already let go. She didn’t feel it around her ankle anymore. She started to run out of breath, she whirled her head around but didn’t know which was up and which was down. It was all dark, even though her eyes were open. She couldn’t believe this was happening. She was kicking the water and suddenly felt her foot slam against something. She felt a sharp pain. Maybe kicking madly wasn’t such a good idea. A rocky wall, that’s what it was. She saw something above her. It was flash but it was a chance. She swam up frantically. And then she felt her head rise up out of the water. She took a deep breath of air and coughed up some water.

As Ariel’s eyes focused on her surroundings she noticed she was no longer out at sea, with the sun above her. She was inside some cavern, it seemed huge and had some old rusted metal parts stuck in between the rocky walls. Ariel swam up to the side of the cavern and pulled herself out of the water. "What the hell?" she mumbled wondering who or what brought her here and if they were still somewhere around. Ariel stood on a rocky surface and watched the water for a moment. But nothing came up to grab her as she thought. She decided it’s better to look for an exit rather then something that could’ve just been a fish. She hopped over to the next rock carefully. She peeked over the corner of the cavern only to find herself staring into another even bigger one. Well it’s either this or diving blindly into the dark waters to look for the exit. She noted a huge metal rusted platform in the center of the cavern. She hopped over the rocks, still sorta afraid to go into the water, and onto the platform. From here she could examine where exactly to go. This damn place was like a maze. As she looked it over she noted about four different ways to go, not to mention heading back through that earlier cavern and looking there. After a moment or so Ariel made her choice and jumped straight and onto a slanted rock. She made her way up over the rocks hoping that would lead her onto one of the cliffs she noted earlier near the beach. As she crossed the rocks she found herself staring into a narrow passage. This was all defiantly weird, but not the kind of weird she was used to. It was too dark to see so she just hopped there wouldn’t be any sharp drop off. As she wandered forward, she noted a light. She paused and watched it as it appeared to come closer. "Freeze now or I shoot!" cried out a voice. Ariel yelped and did what she was told. As the light came closer Ariel saw that before her stood a woman. She was about in her early twenties and had curly blond hair over her shoulders and clear blue eyes. She held a flashlight and a 30mm, which was pointed at Ariel, and she wore a white skin tight swimsuit with rolled up navy blue shorts and black boots, a gold pendant hung around her neck. With her she dragged a black book bag. "Don’t shoot" was the only thing Ariel could think of saying. As the woman approached she lowered the gun and gave a sigh of relief, so did Ariel, getting shot wasn’t something she was looking forward to. The woman seemed a bit embarrassed now. "Who are you? And what in the world are you doing here?!" she exclaimed boldly, "I could’ve shot you goddamit!" she put her gun behind her back and flashed the light at Ariel again, getting a look at her. "Sorry.. but you shouldn’t be pulling things out like that! I could’ve been a little kid or something" "yeah right, little kid in a place like this. If I wasn’t so curious as to get a good look at whatever the hell it was that attacked me earlier you would’ve been full of holes....... but I guess I’m sorry to. Name’s Nikki, Nikki Sabara European archeologist" she explain, before Ariel could say a word "so what in the world are you doing here?" she added sharply. "I’m Ariel Chylde... and frankly I don’t have a clue. I guess I got lost." Ariel said and brushed a few strands of hair off her face. "Wait! You said you’re an archeologist, that means you have a crew here right? And an exit" Ariel exclaimed, Nikki hesitated. "Sorta" "what’s sorta mean?" "I was exploring this mountain all alone, that’s what sorta means" Nikki said and walked past Ariel not wanting to waste more time chatting. "You coming?" Nikki glanced back at Ariel "Why you going there? What’s that way?" "dead end... trust me" Nikki said in a voice that made Ariel suspicious.

It seemed a couple of hours had passed. How huge could a stupid underwater cave be anyway? That seemed the only thing Nikki would say. That they were in some sort of underwater cave. She wouldn’t mention how she got there and when Ariel asked if they could just go back the way Nikki came? Nikki would change the subject. But she didn’t want to be stuck down here all alone, so Ariel silently tagged along. They reached another one of those huge caverns except this one had a part of a rusted ship in it and was by far the largest of all. Ariel was sure she would soon be the hell out of this place but the moment Nikki lay eyes on the room she jumped back. "Shit" she mumbled underbreath. "Comeon, we’ll take the other right" she said in a bit above a whisper though she definatly wanted to shout. "Why?" Ariel didn’t move, she turned to face Nikki. A huge shadow passed by behind Ariel but she didn’t see it. "Now" Nikki mouthed and stepped back, her hand reached behind her for the gun. But before she could clentch it in her hand she was grabbed by her arm and tossed forward, she landed right into the dark water surrounding the ship front. Ariel gasped, her eyes moved to whatever it was that threw Nikki. "YOU!" she screamed. "Shit my gun" Nikki screamed as she resurfaced, she was about to dive under to look for when she looked up. She realised that she’s in really deep trouble "damn" she mumbled, not even sure what she was looking at. "Pennance! You just keep comming after me don’t you!!! Can’t you just fukin leave me alone!" Ariel screamed more angry then surprised to seem him. This was just rediculous. But he seemed just as surprised to see Ariel. "what are you doing here little girl?". Nikki just watched the scene in amazment. "Uhm.. old time buddy of your’s Ariel? I’ll just leave you to make up on old times" Nikki climbed out of the water and backed away silently. Pennance turned to her his eyes red, he definatly hated the girl. "Oh, you can stay Ariel won’t mind, besides we still have to make up for those bullets you put in me last time. And you still got my pendant I see" he said. Nikki defiantly seemed nervous without her gun to back her up. "Leave her alone Pennace! And you did bring me here! You pulled me under!" Ariel yelled. "You know you’re acting Really stupid right now little girl! I’m not looking for a fight with you! I didn’t pull you under anywhere, It’s that little bitch that stole from me!" he yelled back at Ariel. He was about to lunge at Nikki "NO PENNANCE!" Ariel yelled to get his attention. Her eyes started to glow, she clentched her teeth together as they turned into fangs. She grew in size and huge claws extended. Pennance turned around to Ariel just in time, she slammed him right accross the face. This came rather unexpected. Nikki stood there rather frozen. She finally shook her head to snap out of it and dived back under the water to search for her gun. Pennace leapt to his feet. Huge scratch marks from Ariel’s claws on his face. He jumped at Ariel but she moved away enough so that he only scratched her arm. Ariel growled and lunged at him but he ducked and she slammed into the wall. He was about to act again when Nikki resurfaced from the water and pointed her loaded gun at Pennance. She let the bullets come, one after another. Her growled and moved back. It was hard to think with all this noice. The gun was making to many sparks blinding everyone and Ariel was getting up. "Don’t you DARE run!" Ariel growled. Nikki wouldn’t stop firing, though she now had her eyes shut and couldn’t see exactly what she was firing at. The sparks were blinding Ariel aswell. She closed her eyes for what seemed just a second to shake of the headache she was getting but when she looked up again she couldn’t see him. Nikki’s gun finally ran out of bullets. After a few empty clicks and silence Nikki opened her eyes. "Did I kill it?" she asked sounding really stupid and childish compared to the way she acted earlier. Ariel knew neither she nor Nikki did shit to Pennace but she couldn’t think of anything else to say. She shifted back into human form, one of the straps to her blue bikini now ripped. She looked up to Nikki as if waiting for her to run away or something. "Yeah Nikki, you.. uhm.. killed it, it turned to dust" she said said in a serious tone that made it actually sound almost beliavable.

It wasn’t long till they got out of caves. It was as Ariel suspected, they resurfaced on a rocky beach underneath one of the cliffs. And Nikki had a jeep stashed right near there. Ariel kept waiting for Nikki to ask about what the hell happened. But Nikki never did, maybe it was because she was afraid to know. Which trully wasn’t one of Nikki qualities or maybe it was bacause she was afraid to give answears on her own. Ariel didn’t know. But she didn’t ask Nikki either about what she had to do with Pennance. Hey people are intitled to secrets right? And Nikki would probebly lie anyway. No point in hearing more lies. Ariel stood on the rocky shore and watched Nikki in the Jeep dissapear.
