X-com : enemy unknown

Review by : Ursas117

Format : Playstation / PC

Type : Strategy

Players : 1

I had bought this game on a whim while shopping one day and gave it a try. I was extremely impressed with the games initial handling and gameplay. although the control is tough to get used to at first,(you WILL need the manual or alot of patience)once you get the controls down you will have an easy time doing what you need to save the world from ufo attack.

To be successful in a mission, you have to use your jets and shoot the ufo down, and when it crash lands, you have to take your marines in to neutralize the aliens and recover the aliens ship and technology. Once you do that, you can take the technology and corpse(s) back to your base and let your scientists learn how to use the aliens weapons and technology on them!

If you like strategy style games, you'll love X-com ufo defense. The sound quality is pretty good, but the loooooooong loading times are where the game loses alot of its luster. (I once went and got me a cup of coffee with cream and sugar, and when i came back, it was still loading!) The graphics are of good quality also, with the autopsy pics showing the aliens guts splayed out. I did some checking out for this one so you wont have to get frustrated. the only cheat codes for this game are for the playstation gameshark! Sorry! I personally liked the game, but the loading time eventually got on my nerves. Oh well, if you have alot of time and patience, This is the game for you!!!
