Part 1 - soul searching

“Engage the Thrusters,” Commander Gordon said to the Peewee sitting at the control console of the G.S.U Big Mama EXCALABER class starcrusier they were travelling to the remains of an old base which had recently been destroyed by the CORE it was situated in a place called Britain which was a country on planet Earth or what was left of it. They would have to make a 3-week journey to Earth the birthplace of mankind.
“If you need me I’ll be in my quarters better set it up as its going to be a long journey I suggest
you lot do the same…engage the Hyperdrive,” He said as he left the bridge as he went into the Turbolift. “Floor 7,” he said, As he was descending he could feel the mass of his body being crushed against the floor signifying that the Hyperdrive was powering up. He had always hated Hyperdrives, as he disliked his body being crushed. Then the artificial breakfast cereal lurched up through his body system signifying that they had made the jump to Hyperspace.
When he got to the grey room which Gordon called ‘his quarters’ the first thing he done was to
log on to his personal computer whilst words flashed across the screen.

“God,” he thought to himself. “We don’t even have first names because of this war.”

The words flashed on the screen.

ACTIVATING]PERSONAL DIARY

The diary that he had kept since he started training to join the ARM came up on the screen he
then wrote.

God I can’t believe it I’m going to be stuck on this moving piece of scrap metal for 3-weeks oh
well better make the most of it see ya later.

Part 2 - soul destroying
 
 
 

Just as he finished writing his entry to the diary some sirens activated and the voice on the speaker said

“ALL PERSONEL REPORT TO BATTLE STATIONS UNIDENTIFYED STARFIGHTER MAKING
FLYBY OF SHIP”

“Bloody hell!” Gordon shouted out aloud  “Are the CORE mad? Attacking us in our own territory !?!”
He then swiftly ran to the turbo lift and went back up to the bridge
“What the hell is going on?” he asked his 2nd in command.
“Don’t know sir but that ship isn’t the CORE’s and it isn’t ours either.”
Just as he finished saying that the Peewee at the controls said
“They are powering up something on the ship some sort of energy weapon sir.”
“Be more specific,” Gordon said to the Peewee.
Just as the Peewee was about to reply a huge fluorescent green beam shot out of the ship and
hit the G.S.U Big Mama there was a colossal shake and then an explosion.
“The ship is blowing up!” screamed the Peewee who then ran out of the bridge followed by a Hammer and a Shooter in a state of panic. As they left the bridge a defensive forcefield that acted as doors to the bridge activated sealing all exits. Just then a control console beside Gordon exploded and a piece of shrapnel from the console hit him on the head knocking him out cold.

When he woke up everything was a blur after a few minutes his eyes focused on a large dark object across the hall from him, It was another Commander! He started to crawl over to him regardless of what side he belonged to ARM or CORE but just as he got near to him a huge surge of electricity surged through his body his vision went blank and all he could hear was a voice saying to him “Don’t bother. You're going to be here a long time.”
He then lost consciousness.

 Part 3 birth of a tyrant

When he regained consciousness the other Commander was standing near to him but not close enough to get a shock from the force field as his eyes focused on him he realised that it was a CORE Commander
“What happened?” He asked the other Commander, the other Commander replied
“I do not know”
He then realised that a CORE Commander was talking to him and he thought that he might be as confused as he was.
“What should I call you” He asked the other Commander who then replied “J4375K”
Gordon then said “Do you mind if I call you J”
“That’s fine” J said. Then the noise of footsteps could be heard coming their way they both looked in the direction the footsteps were coming from and in walked a shadowy figure...an other Commander. Gordon gasped for what little air there was in the room and as the Commander got closer his breath got taken away it was a ARM Commander.

“Why look so surprised Gordon don’t you remember me from the ARM training centre?” The Commander replied
“Yes I do you’re Commander John” Gordon replied
“Oh you remember me then, well I’m just here to tell you two your going to be moved to another planet so we can convert you to our cause” John said.
Gordon then said “What is the cause?”
“To capture both the ARM and CORE technology to eradicate other species in the Galaxy so we gain total control of the system before our adversaries do” John said
“Who are the adversaries” Gordon asked
“Sorry that’s classified information Gordon, now if you two would like to come along” John then pulled out a device, which he shot at both Commanders which, knocked them out cold.

Part 4 ARM+CORE allies

When Gordon woke up he was yet again in a cell across from J. J appeared to be doing something to his laser on his right arm. Gordon said “You OK in there?”
J grunted and said “I’m trying to link the power source in my laser to my D-gun to get us out of here…Gordon”
Gordon looked surprised and said “How do you know my name?”
J grunted again and said “All CORE Commanders have on-board computers with databases you know”
Gordon was surprised he didn’t remember that and was about to explain why he forgot that when he heard footsteps coming towards them. A Krogoth walked into the room and said “You are on the GNS Vortex prison ship I am your guard CamTarn (Sorry couldn’t help myself-WilD DoG) "You are being transported to the Alpha sector and will remain in this ship until we get there here are the rules…..”
He went on for some time but Gordon had stopped listening and had started thinking “Earth is in the Alpha sector”
As soon as CamTarn left he told J whom obviously already knew about Earth and the Alpha sector and then J shouted “DONE!!! I’ve linked up my laser!!!! We can escape!!!”
