Chapter 2

"Aeris... wake up..." Aeris' eyes fluttered. She rubbed her eyes and opened. "Wh..?" She gasped. She was beside the lake in the Forgotten City! She looked at her hands. The chipped Holy materia was fixed with a brown grip on her left hand. She ran towards the lake. She was alive! She touched her reflection on the smooth planed mirror. Then, she noticed something. Her silky brown hair was let down instead of being tied neatly into braids, and her dressing was different. To her astonishment, there was a pair of wings behind her!

"What... what happened?" Aeris whispered, as she looked around. Suddenly, a burst of white light blinded her for a while. When she opened her eyes, a lovely, golden haired lady with her great wings fanned out. Her beauty stunned Aeris. "Who are you?"

"My name is Ira. I'm a messenger from The Planet." Aeris' aquamarine eyes grew. "Mess...enger...? The Planet?" She placed her hands towards her mouth. "Don't tell me... Cloud lost to Sephiroth...?" She fell onto the floor, with strands of hair floating in the cool breeze. Ira smiled warmly. "No. Sephiroth had been beaten. Cloud was victorious." Aeris heaved a sign of relive. But she sensed something was wrong. "Then, why did the Planet called for me? Why am i dressed in this manner?" She asked, as she stood up. Ira's warm smile was replaced by a solemn expression. "The Planet is facing dangers again." Aeris squinted her eyes.

"I don't quite get you."

"The point is, you are destined to save the Planet by yourself, Aeris. Since you are dead, you are an angel now. Obviously, both your magic and powers have increased tremendously." Ira explained as she walked with her back facing her. "But.. who am i fighting with, Ira?" Aeris enquired, as she touched her wings gingerly. Ira spun her head around. "This villain, is now an archangel, with much evil powers within him. The forbidden orb had fallen onto evil hands. With this, the beast had revived. "

Aeris' heart stopped for a second. "Evil powers? The black materia? Revived?" Ira looked up as she crossed her arms.

"Sephiroth is back."
