Chapter 4

As Cloud brought Aeris back to Cosmo Canyon, where now the gang dwells, everyone was overwhelmed by astonishment. Even the usually emotionless Vincent! Yuffie darted towards her and embraced her, with her hot tears spilling out. Cid laughed heartily as Cait Sith hopped around Aeris merrily, while Aeris patted on Red XIII's nose tenderly. Barret's gun arm was waving wildly in the air, yelling, "ALLELUIA! Its a MIRICLE!" Everyone laughed and cheered loudly. Every single one of them... all except for....

"Tifa, aren't you going to talk to Aeris?"

Tifa's velvety black hair swirled behind her as she turned around. It was Cloud. "What is it, Tifa?"

Tifa fixed her scarlet eyes onto the ground, stammering, "Are... you happy?"

"Huh?"

"I said... are you happy?"

Tifa asked, as she looked questionably at Cloud. Cloud gave her a bizarre look. He nodded his head as he said firmly, "Of course, Tifa!"

"Why?"

Tifa answered in a cold tone as her ebony hair swept across her rosy cheeks when she tilted her face upwards. Cloud gave Tifa a suprised look. He gave a weak grin and said, "What do you mean by... why? Tifa? She's... well... she's..."

"Your beloved?"

Tifa answered bitterly as she closed her eyes. Cloud's vivid blue eyes widened and flushed. "Ehh...." Tifa's heart shattered. Never had she seen Cloud's cheeks flushed for a girl before. "Tifa?" Cloud asked, as he tried to reach for her. Tifa stepped a step back, with tears rolling down.

"Fine... after all the care and concern i've given you... is this all i deserve? Who cared for you when you were in trance in Mideel? Who? WHO?" Tifa screamed, unaware to know that eyes were staring at her. "Tifa... look..." Cloud sputtered. The young martial artist clasped her ears as she began to run away.

As she ran past Aeris, she glared and whispered hoarsely, "Cloud is mine. Forever."

Aeris' eyes grew as her brilliant marine eyes followed her through the door. Then there was silence. Yuffie sprang up and chided at Cloud. "Aw come on, guys! Aeris is BACK, and i mean BACK, so let us celebrate! Right guys?" Yuffie chattered with enthusiasm. Ciat Sith joined in. "Yeah! Stop those gloomy faces, dudes! Erm, lemme read your fortune, Aeris!!" Aeris gave a weak smile as she replied meekly. "Sure."

"Careful, feathered lady! That guy is a QUACK, and everyone knows it." Vincent cut in with a sharp tone. Everyone giggled.

"Ha ha. Very funny, Valentine! AHEM! Gimme your palm, Aeris!" Ciat Sith ignored Vincent. Aeris stretched out her palm. Ciat Sith examined it carefully. Then, he shook his head sadly. "What's it now, Mr. Know It All?" Cid joked. Ciat Sith gave no reply. At this moment, everyone sensed Ciat Sith's seriousness. "Well, what's it?" Barret asked impatiently. "Aeris... you are going through another.... bad omen...." Everyone gasped.

Aeris looked into Ciat Sith's tiny eyes, and nodded. "I know." Cloud frowned. He walked to Aeris and inquired," What is going to happen? You must be revived for a reason, right? Aeris?" Aeris closed her eyes and sighed deeply. "Evil has once again posed a threat to the Planet." "Evil? Who..." Red XIII interrupted. Aeris did not reply and continued. "I'm revived again as an immortal self, as my fate seems to crash deeply with the evil one." Cloud held her by her slender shoulders and asked firmly. "Who is the evil one? Who are we facing with? Aeris? Answer me!" Aeris looked into his piercing blue eyes and continued gravely.

"It seems that I have to destroy Sephiroth all by myself."
