Not much is known about the girl named Saria. She is of the Kokiri or the Forever Children. She was one of Link's childhood friends (romances?), but ultimately helped Link in his quest when she became the Sage of the Forest Temple and helped to seal Gannon in the Dark World. Maybe we'll learn more of her at another time.
