Places
Sumberton, Small City This human dominated city is the capitol of this region. It is walled, and sits on a river. The regular military of the Baroness resides here, some 400 soldiers. There are another 50 or so "Chaos Guards" loyal to the Baroness. The City Guard is another 30 law enforcement personnel. There is a Temple to Pelor which is made of wood and can seat perhaps 200 worshipers at once. There is a Temple to Heironeous which is made of stone and built like a fortress which can seat 1000 worshipers at once. There is a Temple to Nerull which is made of black stone, but no one you know has been inside of it. There is large tower dedicated to Wee Jas in the city's main cemetary, but you don't know any followers. |
Goblin Lair This area appears to be a cave complex, but is actually well-built inside, constructed of a strange green stone with horrific demonic architecture. About 20 goblins and hobgoblins were calling this area home until our heroes arrived and put them to the sword. |
Caer Van Kemp The ancestral home of the Van Kemp clan, completed a mere 30 years ago by Mitric himself. This keep has 4 towers and a gatehouse, with a central fortified keep inside. There is also a stables and barracks outside. There are between 30 and 50 guards here. |
Shining Citdadel This fortress houses the Luminous Order, a Knightly order dedicated to protecting the world from extra-planar threats. They have extensive libraries, training grounds and barracks. The fortress could definately house several times more then the 100 or so now in residence. |
Surrinak Hunting Lodge This rectangular wooden hunting lodge is normally bereft of supplies and furniture. It appears seldom-used. Closer examination, however, reveals a hidden staircase under a millstone. The staircase leads underground to a strange area made of an odd green stone and with several demonic visaged arches, some of which breath fire, all of which glow and emit magical auras. A nest of drow and other baddies has taken up residence here. |
Three Home Village No one knows how many people live here, or what its actual name is. The "heroes" came across this place while travelling to the Surrinak Hunting Lodge. They kicked in the door to a home, and then drew weapons and began fighting each other. Eventually, they left some money and departed before killing any unarmed commoners. |
Dondurran This human village is famous for its quality orchards. A recent band of maruading gnolls has pillaged the town and caused severe damage. A cavalry force from Sumberton saved the town from complete destruction. Ganbor has "Purchased" a hovel in this village and has hired a local landlord to manage it for him. |
Redbark Grove This forest is home to many sylvan creatures, however, some of them have gone "Mad" and are quite dangerous to travellers. Additionally, the Surrinak's claim the forest belongs to them, and they are known to have killed travellers who lack a "pass". |
