Saiya-Jin Story
A Brief Overview
The Saiya-jin are a primitive, brutal and powerful race. The aspire to bring chaos, competition, death and violence into the universe instinctively. Their political structure is a monarchy, at the top is the king of planet Vegeta, the king is always named Vegeta. The Saiya-jins are known as "a warrior race" and "planet brokers." The Saiya-jin are paid by other races to go to new planets and kill of all of the intelligent life, making the planet a perfectly habitable spot for another race. Baby Saiya-jins are sufficient to kill all the intelligent life of a weak race, while stronger adult Saiya-jin are used for planets with tougher inhabitants. Freeza was the ruler of the Saiya-jin's he is of a race which is much more powerful than any of the Saiya-jins. The Saiya-jins also have tails. These tails allow them to transform into giant were-monkeys when they see a full moon. When they are transformed, Saiya-jin's are approximately 10 times as powerful as they are in their normal form.
Annihilation
Freeza enjoyed being the ruler of the Saiya-jins (because he was proving his power over them, and they were a powerful people themselves), but eventually they began to get too strong. Freeza noticed that whenever a Saiya-jin lost a battle, then recovered from it, the Saiya-jin would get even stronger. This made him nervous that someday the Saiya-jins would get too powerful, so he decided to wipe them out. Freeza shot a gigantic KI blast (energy ball) into Planet Vegeta, killing almost all of the inhabitants. Some Saiya-jins realized what he was doing, but only too late, after he had formed the KI blast, and died when he shot it, as they were hit by it.
The Survivors
There were several survivors, who survived for various reasons. Prince (or king, since his father was killed in the blast) Vegeta and elite class Saiya-jin Nappa, were on a mission requiring them to be on another planet when Freeza blew up Planet Vegeta. Freeza did this intentionally, as Vegeta was loyal to him, and a powerful warrior. Two other survivors were Brolly and his father, who had been left for dead and dumped out with the trash from a Saiya-jin ship (but survived it thanks to Brolly's abilities). Another Saiya-jin who survived was Taurus, the reasons for his survival are unclear and never explained. The last of the surviving Saiya-jins is Kakarotto, as he was sent to kill all of inhabitants on Earth, to make it available for another race to buy.
Kakarotto
Kakarotto landed on Earth on schedule, and was found buy an old man named Gohan. He picked the young boy out of the spaceship and gave him loving care, but still had trouble taking care of him. He soon realized he had a tail, and decided to name the boy Goku. Goku was the most disobediant boy Gohan had ever seen, he was amazingly strong and extremely violent. One day Gohan was carrying Goku, when Goku got violent and forced his way out of Gohan's hands. Goku tumbled onto the ground and down a cliff. He hit his head very hard, and if he was not a Saiya-jin he would have defineately died. After that horrible bump on the head (Goku hit the ground head first) Goku, was a normal loving child. Gohan taught him martial arts and his way of life (Gohan was a hermit in the woods). One night though, Goku went outside and saw the full moon. He transformed into and Oozaru (were-monkey) and losing his frame of mind, and become ultra-violent, he killed his grandfather. From then on, because of his strength and martial arts training, he had no trouble living in the woods, until he was met by a girl name Buluma. This is were the cartoon known as Dragon Ball begins.
The Other Saiya-Jins
Vegeta:
Prince Vegeta of Planet Vegeta came to Earth with the intent of finshing Goku's unfinished job and killing Goku. He was, however, beaten in his fight with Goku, and when he needed Goku's help to defeat Freeza, he started his change. He very slowly began to come closer and closer to Goku's side, and eventually he was almost completely transformed, although some of his Saiya-jin insticts still remain.
Nappa:
Big, bald, and incredibly stupid, this elite class Saiya-jin (and also Vegeta's partner) killed quite a few Z-teamers before he was finished off by Goku.
Taurus:
He looks a lot like Goku (even though they had not relation), infact, Gohan even mistook him for Goku. He tried to take over the Galaxy by using a world tree which would suck all the energy out of Earth and then give him all of it, when he ate the fruit that it bore on its brances. He was killed by Goku's Genki-Damas.
Gohan:
Being half-Human, half-Saiya-jin, Gohan (Goku's first son, named after his grandfather) is extremely powerful. He has defeated several major enemies, but he still cannot match up to his father's power.
Goten:
He is Goku's second son, so he has about as much power pontential as Gohan does, but because he never trained enough to become as powerful, he remains weaker. He is still rather strong, and a good ally in fights.
Trunks:
Trunks is half-Human, half-Saiya-jin as well, but his father is Vegeta and mother is Buluma. Because he is Vegeta's son (Vegeta being weaker than Goku), he is not as strong as Gohan, but because he trained hard, he is stronger than Goten.
Pan-Chan:
The daughter of Gohan and Videl, Pan-Chan is only a quarter Saiya-jin. She is weaker than all the other Saiya-jin's, but she is extremely strong compared to a human nonetheless.
Super Saiya-jin
Super Saiya-jin 1:
The ability to go Super Saiya-jin (or SSJ) is one of the chief attributes that makes the suviving Saiya-jin powerful. When a Saiya-jin reaches a power level of around 800,000 or higher they transform and become extremely powerful. Their muscles tend to bulge out for a brief fraction of a second, and a glowing aura surrounds them. To go SSJ, the Saiya-jin must be very angry, but after it is reached the first time, it is easier to retrun to. This stage was first achieved by Son Goku, during the Freeza saga..
Super Saiya-jin 2:
SSJ2 was first obtained by Gohan during the Cell saga. It is like going SSJ while already in SSJ mode. The person becomes more than twice as strong as they were when in SSJ, and they become extremely angry. SSJ2 was what Gohan used to defeat Cell.
Super Saiya-jin 3:
This stage is different from SSJ and SSJ2. It can only be achieved through training and does not seem to require the immense anger that SSJ and SSJ2 do. The person gets extremely long, blond hair, which hangs down (the hair in SSJ and SSJ2 stands on end). The level SSJ3 has only been obtained by Goku and Gotenks.
Super Saiya-jin 4:
Some people consider this to be "beyond Super Saiya-jin" because the form is so much different. In SSJ1-3, the character gets long, blond hair, but in SSJ4 their hair is black, and not as stiff as in SSJ1-3. SSJ4 is extremely powerful, hence it being dubbed "beyond Super Saiya-jin." This mode was first achieved by Goku during his fight with Bejita as I call him (Bebi when he possesed Vegeta) in DBGT.
