Kirk Must Die
Klingon Hero of the Empire Deck

Ever since The Trouble With Tribbles expansion was released I have been kicking around a Klingon Hero of the Empire deck. It should also be considered a variation of the Klingon Death Yell deck as many elements from that deck were carried into this one as well. In fact it is very similar to my Klingon Gladiator deck. The difference being that this one does not make use of the Sword of Kahless, but relies on Hero of the Empire to make this deck a 2 mission win. I found this deck fun to play and have indeed won a Tournament with it. This deck does run a little slow so you will want to try to slow your opponent down, I personally like to initiate personnel battle to do this.

Seed Deck:

Missions:

Agricultural Assessment
Bat'leth Tournament x3
Explore Black Cluster II
Secret Salvage II

I have found that an opponent who hasn't seen this deck before will often seed Dal'Rok or The Sheliak/Q combo at your Empok Nor location. Don't panic as I have found that I do not have to have Empok Nor by the time it is tripped. Because of the minimal requirements for Bat'leth Tournament this deck eats such dilemmas as though they were fresh Gak.

Dilemma Combos

Founder Secret + Chula: The Chandra + Q

Clan People + Chula: The Chandra + Q

Unscientific Method + Interphasic Plasma Creatures + Chula: The Dice

Ferengi Infestation + Theta-Radiation Poisoning + Cytherians

Ferengi Infestation + Theta-Radiation Poisoning + Cytherians

Dead End

Berserk Changling - (This dilemma is to give you a quick way to kill off lots of Honorable Klingons quickly. Self-seed it last.)

Strategy:

The dilemmas are designed to delay your opponent. There are some unusually combos that I have found effective. When your opponent hits a Q, rush into personnel battle with him. He is not likly to have much of a chance.

Try to seed your Empok Nor close to where you have one of your Klingon Outposts even towards and end so that if you get the I.K.C. T'Ong you will not want to have it go very far

Initiate personnel battle whenever possible. You will out class all affiliations with the exception of possibly the Jem'Hadar and then it will be pretty even.

Alter your seeded personnel downloads based on your opponents seeding and strategy. If there is a dilemma under Empok Nor you will want to start with Atul and Korris and get K'mpec with Assign Support personnel, Govenor Worf with Defend Homeworld and 10 and 01 with Quark's Isolinear Rods. Otherwise Kahless is a good start for Guest Quarters, as is Thopok for an extra Bat'leth

Be patient when commandeering Empok Nor. It is not crutial that you commandeer it early just that it gets commandeered. You need the weapons and the equipment more than specific personnel so wait until you are ready.

You will want to download Barry Waddle to Cargo Bay as soon as you can. Once in play have him board a ship where on an earlier turn you have played a Tribble and a Trouble. . . in the Transporters. Have him download your tribble Bomb to this location. Time it so that you arrive at K-7 on the turn that you bomb is set to go off and beam Barry or [OS] Klingon to K-7 discarding your "... in the Transporters" to move your Tribble Bomb to K-7. At the end of your turn the Bomb will go off killing Kirk and he won't be able to stop it.

Equipment cards are your friends. It is important to have the Science Kit, Klingon PADD and Medical Kit with you for dilemma busting. The hand weapons do a lot for you as well. Some of the most popular dilemmas can be beaten with them in the hands of your Klingons.

After solving two Bat'leth Tournaments look for ways to kill Klingons for bonus points using Arbiter of Succession and Klingon Death Yells.

Qapla'!
