WIP-UP are the rules for any player using any not yet finished RPG material in my campaign. While originally intended for classes only, I later realized that it would work for anything with no known inhereant limitations. It is the core idea that these rules inside this agreement cover material that will be changing with all users having mandatory changes they accept and agreed to in advance. Those that can not accept these ideas do not get to use anything under a WIP-UP agreement.
1) Everything that is used under “WIP-UP” agreement must be fully declared as such before a player may even look at its writeup. Whatever project that will be covered by WIP-UP must be properly declared to all prospective users before any such project can be viewed or used.
2) Each writeup must be availible for reading and /or review at any time during gameplay. It is not required that every single player have a copy of the material covered under WIP-UP. The Ref should have his or her own copy of the material.
3) The player must have the chance to completely read the protected material under WIP-UP and get any questions answered truthfully before making any decisions. The initial reading must occur before gameplay starts.
4) If WIP-UP ever changes, all players that are using any material under any WIP-UP agreement must be duly and properly notified before next game play starts. Any player having a problem with any WIP-UP changes, must be allowed to bow out then and there without hassles, problems, or complaints.
5) Both players using it and DM must have a current copy of WIP-UP. The players will have one copy. The DM shall have another copy.
6) Each WIP-UP project has a version number. The current version number must be on the character sheet when dealing with a class or item. If the version number changes for any reason on the master document, all character sheets using that material must have their version numbers changed to reflect the master copy. With the version number changes can come with significant material changes. Any player having a problem with the changes must be allowed to bow out then and there without hassles, problems, or complaints.
7) As appropriate considering this is part of the whole reason for WIP-UP, whenever any material under it changes all players using that material must accept each and every change made without complaint, groan, or whine. The only alternative is to stop using that material permanently until it is no longer under WIP-UP agreement. If the material is a class, the PC that was using said class can be retired on temp or perm basis or modified to an equivalent class at the DM’s option.
8) Initially WIP-UP will be done verbally only. Because it is recognized that some players might go and forget about all the terms under WIP-UP or decide to fight them, both a individual project WIP-UP log and a master WIP-UP log shall be created and maintained by the DM. These logs shall be held in reserve for hopefully never needed status. If a problem results by a player concerning WIP-UP, then log use may be initiated by DM at DM”s sole decision. If this occurs, all WIP-UP agreement based material is forbidden to every one who does not sign the project log or master WIP-UP log. By signing, the player gives permission to make photocopies and /or digitize the log with signature on it for record keeping and other legal purposes.
9) Any person may at any time choose to cease using any WIP-UP based writeup with or without notice and with or without reason. The person doing so must inform the DM in open or private setting during non game time that WIP-UP use has ceased and then take whatever steps are dictated by DM without fail. Known required steps are listed below...
A. The user of WIP-UP material must cease immediately all such material usage.
B. The user shall hand over all copies of any WIP-UP agreement project or projects material if possessed so no more use of that WIP-UP project or projects material may occur. It does not matter if it is a single class or 15 projects or somewhere in between.
C. The user shall make all needed changes so no trace of any WIP-UP agreement material can be found on any PC sheet for that player or on any hard copies that player controls. If any class used on any PC was a WIP-UP covered class, that PC must be immediately permanently semi retired until further notice or permantently converted to a non WIP-UP class without delay; No such PC can be used again anywhere for any reason until converted to a non WIP-UP class. This total non use shall remain until that WIP-UP class or WIP-UP classes are now standard availible classes as decreed by the DM.
D. The person ceasing WIP-UP need no longer have a copy of this agreement if a no project using it is not using any WIP-UP project. If such is true it shall be turned over to DM or destroyed in a manner fitting environmental and security concerns; Why waste good paper?
E. Anyone who willfully does not comply with all of the above can be forbidden any further use of any WIP-UPproject for a period set by the DM including yet not limited to player life; The player is now banned from any further WIP-UP project use.
10) WIP-UP is not nor will not ever be availible to all players. It shall be used on a case by case basis.
11) WIP-UP is in perpetual beta; The “WIP-UP” agreement or license is always in “working beta” mode itself regardless of version numbering on any WIP-UP agreement. WIP-UP agreement can change at any time for any reason with or without notice. As per noted under item 4 all persons using any WIP-UP project must be clearly and properly notified that WIP-UP agreement changes have occurred.
