Technical Readout: Legends (c) 1998, 1999 by Matt McLaine, lethe99@hotmail.com. Please take note of the following two short documents. The first is a disclaimer from http://members.aol.com/fnoor/mechhang.html, the BattleTech Online Sourcebook. The proprietor has done a wonderful job, and was permitted to use full texts of in-print mechs online. I base much of TR:L's legal security on this. The second text is a return email from Bryan Nystul, FASA development guru. It is less encouraging, so continue at your own risk. Maybe FASA should try some internal consistency?

Items found on this webpage are based in FASA's Battletech universe. Any material used directly from that game universe is copyright by Fasa corporation. This includes the mechs on the Battletech Online Sourcebook. You can only use the mechs in the Battletech Online Sourcebook if you have the book where that mech came from, or you may use it for 1 day if you are going to purchase the book. (Fasa says this is the condition to putting it up, what can I do? they were good enough about letting me put it up, weren't they?)
There are usually good reasons for not bringing those old "lost" Mechs forward. In many cases, the designs were just so unusual or strange that we let them fade away as mere curiosities (in particular the Solaris Mechs and the Flyer Mechs). Some of them do not follow the BattleTech rules (such as the "super" Mechs in the Tales of the Black Widow). One of the few things we "forbid" is the posting of our copyrighted text. This would include those old Mech designs. In this case, due to the reasons mentioned above, I think it might be best to "let dead Mechs lie."
