Wow, did we ever get a bunch of teeth, this month. Elizabeth began June with 2 teeth. She began July with 8! This poor child teethed like crazy, but she was an absolute trooper. We only had two or three days of crankiness. I suppose she was just too busy playing to let it get her down. The greatest thing, this month, was seeing Lizzie learn to display affection. She has begun to hug things - both animals and people - and she actively seeks physical affection from others. It's just the best thing I've ever seen. Enjoy the new stuff!

Health:

June began with the worst runny nose Elizabeth has ever had. It dripped non-stop for more than a week. It was not completely cleared up until the 15th.

Eating Habits:

Elizabeth is down to only 3 or 4 bottles per day, and we have switched over to follow-up formula.
Almost anything we give Lizzie from our own plates is gobbled up happily. She even likes raw broccoli. Bananas and peaches are still rejected every time - whether fresh or in baby food.

Development:

Lizzie stands very well unassisted. She has begun, finally, to "cruise" in addition to her crawling. She is not at all interested in learning to do more at this time, however. She is very pleased with her mobility level, and we figure she'll walk when she wants to.
Lizzie is wearing mostly 12-month clothing, but some 18-month outfits are beginning to fit quite nicely.
She started climbing. Eek!
Elizabeth can understand and appropriately respond to "no-no" (she shakes her head), "brush your hair" (she will hold the brush and swipe it over her head), and "patty cake (clapping, of course)." She also sticks out her tongue in response to seeing others do it.
She is beginning attempts at mimicking sound. It's the first step towards acquiring language!!! Ashley and I are so excited.

Visiting:
Ashley had to leave for California while we stayed behind for several days. Elizabeth and I took that time as a last chance to visit with dear friends in St. Louis, Melissa Meeker and Craig Thomas before the big move.

Elizabeth got her first bathtub toys on July 7th from Craig Thomas, who is a beloved "uncle." Also on that day, Uncle Craig gave her pieces of her first peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Craig and I were cracking up over her facial expressions with the peanut butter. She loved it.
