Kesac 10: The path unfolds
-|==========-
Kesac walked out of the crypts. However, many questions remained
unanswered. What is this 'external influence?' And what did being
a 'Millenial Warrior' mean?
Clouds had gathered overhead. It looked like rain was coming. Kesac
looked at the worn path. It seemed to be early afternoon. Kesac sighed.
Time was a essence that shouldn't be wasted. But something was hanging
over the head of Kesac...
---Where to go next?---
Kesac looked to the south. Jidoor seemed to be the logical place to
start looking for this influence...
"I need to return to my home." Kesac walked toward his home, where he
spent twenty years until this day.
---Middle of the night---
Kesac arrived at his small home. Exhausted from the long trip, Kesac
laid down in his bed...

"You shall never defeat me!"
"Oh yeah? Take this!"
"Ahh! Can't harm him!"
"How can we defeat him?"
"Here! Over here!"

Kesac woke up. "What was that dream all about?" Kesac shook the memory
of the dream and walked the fifteen minute walk to Jidoor.
The city had been repaired extensively since Kesac visited there nearly
one month ago. Kesac smiled. "Jidoor is in good shape. However, I
need to find out about this influence."
Kesac looked at his sword. "Hmm...it must have been damaged in the crypts.
I need to get it repaired."
Kesac walked toward the weapons shop. Kesac looked around, feeling
that he was being watched, however, not a thing was in sight.
A man was watching him from the shadows however.
-|==========-
Kesac walked into the weapons shop. "I would like this sword sharpened
please." "That will be 9 gold." Kesac hands the weaponsmith a few
gold coins and his sword. "Has anything unusual happened lately?"
"Now that you mention it, yes. Someone came in and stole a hunk of metal
that I was going to use to make a sword."
"Odd. Was anything else missing?"
"No, just that hunk of metal. Not a single gold coin, nor a single
weapon. I've heard that something similar happened in Maranda. You might
want to go there."
Kesac pondered. Why would someone just steal metal? "Thanks. Anything
else?"
"Yes, there is word from Narshe that the Giant has been destroyed. The
Empire has surrendered to the Returners."
Kesac smiled. "So I was right," Kesac said to himself, "the Giant would
be destroyed some day."
The weaponsmith gets to work on sharpening Kesac's sword...

Half an hour later, Kesac walked out of the weapon shop, his sword
sharpened. "Maranda, eh? But I need to do something first..."
Kesac walked out of Jidoor.
-|==========-
"Father, I will always remember you." Kesac placed a stone marker by
the burnt rubble of his former home. "The Empire has crumbled. And I
hope that you can rest in peace." Kesac kneeled at his father's grave and
bowed his head. "I will always...remember you."
Kesac got up and started on the long trek to Maranda, a tear in his eye, but
a hope in his heart...
