Kesac 13 : Visions of the Past

Locale: Around Jidoor

The sun was low on the horizon. Kesac made camp for the
night...
Kesac looked at his sword. A long blade, fairly light.
Yet it still looked like it could deal out a stinging
blow. "This sword has been in the Ruyil family for
hundreds of years." Kesac thought about when he earned
the sword...

"Wake up Kesac, it's your 18th birthday..."
Kesac got out of bed. Kesac yawned. Today was the day
he was to prove himself as a master of the sword. Kesac
walked out of his home to the ground where he and his
father trained each day.
His father, Terak was standing there. "You ready?"
Kesac nodded. He tossed a wooden sword to Kesac...
The fight was on. Kesac dashed at Terak and slashed
at his midsection. Terak stepped out of the way and
sliced toward the back of Kesac. Kesac ducked under
the blow and sliced at Terak's legs. Terak jumped and
came down at Kesac, who rolled out of the way just in
time.
*Sometimes you must strike quickly, like a snake biting
its prey*
Kesac stood up and gauged Terak. Kesac carefully edged
closer to him and struck...only to have his blow
deflected. Terak struck back, but Kesac sidestepped the
blow. Kesac then sliced at Terak, and struck a hit in
the middle of the body. *Thankfully these are only
practice swords* Terak stumbled back, and looked where
he had been hit. "Very good, but that doesn't stop me."
Kesac nodded. He then prepared his sword for a Flash
Strike. Terak watched his every move. Kesac unleashed
the twelve strikes at Terak, striking him five times.
Terak fell. "Nice work. You have learned the Ruyil art
well. Maybe someday you will be the greatest swordmaster
the Ruyil family has ever known. I give you the sword
that our family has passed down from generation to
generation. Help me get up, son."
Kesac helped Terak walk back to the house. Terak then
went to a small knob that Kesac had never seen. Terak
turned the knob, and opened up a stairway in the house.
"Might be things down there, need to take a sword."
Terak tossed Kesac a sword. "Be careful."
Kesac walked down into the basement. There was an
unlit torch on the wall, He lit it and took it.
He then walked down the stairs carefully. He looked
around, but saw nothing but dust and stone. Finally, he
found the sword. He picked it up and rushed back up
the stairs.

"And that's how I earned this sword." Kesac thought for
a minute. "I will make you proud father..." He then
drifted into a dreamless sleep...

OOC: Well...the MWs will be handled a little differently
now (due to lack of response.) More on it later. As
always, comments appreciated (kesac@geocities,com)
