"Your former glories and all the stories dragged and washed with eager hands."
--Cities in Dust, Siouxsie Sioux and the Banshees

Before we start...

You were killed by ninjas. You were abducted by pirates. But can you handle the sheer awsomeness of... *Metallica starts up* LLAMA

And this was oddly appropriate:

Now, where were we? Ah, yes.
I saw SIOUXSIE SIOUX AND THE BANSHEES last night at Nation. Rock. I went with Adrienne and her friend Jason. Adrienne lives over in McDowell, Jason is an army dude in Alexandria. He thinks he's an angel. I have it on good authority that angels have better directional sense and timing. But he drives a Firebird, listens to Soilwork, games, and watches anime. So the jury is still out. We got to Nation, ran into more people that they knew. So Jason and that Scott guy are the first nonAU people that I've met/been introduced to since I got here, not counting visitors. How odd. I'll ignore the opening band, which is what everyone there did.

Siouxsie was kickin' it old school. Severin, Budgie, Knox... good stuff. Her voice was a little rusty at first (first show of the tour), but she got back into a groove by the time she hit Night Shift. Also good were Cities in Dust and Kiss Them For Me. Three encores, the final one being a cover of Blue Jay Way. Not many shows I've been to have had that much energy - and none of them managed to get that kind of a reaction from so many goths. The one problem with the show was the sound. Down on the lower level it was rather muddled. The treble got painful, and the bass was so strong I could see my clothing vibrate. And you couldn't easily tell what Siouxsie was singing. Despite the fact that I had trouble recognizing some of my favorite songs, it was a lot of fun.

Afterwards Jason dropped us off back at McDowell. Might have to chill with him at some point. We went up to the lounge and ordered pizza, talked to some of Adrienne's friends (including Katie, who is cool and I don't see enough). The pizza guy came and left since they called the room and we didn't have the phone. Called back to "inquire" where the pizza was just as the guy walked back into the pizza place. Next time we saw him walk in, Adrienne ran down and her friend answered the phone, proceeding to ask him if he wanted to buy any goat milk. Hehe. Luckily, there was no obvious spit on the pizza. Obvious. So sitting, eating, talking, and much fun. I'll skip the work I had to do when I got back in.

And that was my night.
