In my opinion Goldeneye 007 is the best first-person shooter ever created. Nothing yet has been able to match Goldeneye in just being so much fun in both single and multiplayer and being able to deliver such a unique playing expierience. This game is also one of the most revelutionary games, it shaped the way for all first-person shooters to come. It was the first first-person shooter to break the "get this key, press this swich, get this other key, exit level" formula that most first-person shooters went by, and it finally broke the 'Doom clone' that was molded into every first-person shooter before it. For the first time the player had missions, with several mission objectives that you had to complete to successfully pass each level. There are also loads of weapons and tons of cheats that you can unlock by getting a certain time, on a certain level, at a certain diffuculty. One other thing that makes Goldeneye 007 so cool and made it so popular is the sheer number of reactions the enemies have when you shoot them at certain places on their bodies. It is also cool how Goldeneye blends stealth and espionage into the missions, you can't just go mindlessly shooting people and blowing stuff up and expect to successfully complete the level (if you are to loud, you would get pumped up with lead by the many enemies that would come to the exact spot where they heard the noise, and on the toughest diffuculty [00 agent or 007 mode, if you unlocked the cheat] it could seem nearly impossible). Another cool thing is the fact that you can blow the crap out of nearly every object in the game, from tables to lights, although you usually aren't supposed to, you can if you want to. Goldeneye 007 is also so popular and sold so many copies that at the first annual Interactive Achievement Awards Ceremony Goldeney 007 took four awards (more awards than any other game). The awards were Interactive Title of the Year, Console Game of the Year, Console Action Game of the Year, and the award for Outstanding Achievement in Software Enginering. Goldeneye 007 also took Console Game of the Year at the following Interactive Achievement Awards Ceremony, making it the best console game of 1997 and 1998 (meaning it sold more copies than any other game on any other console for those two years). Goldeneye 007 also sits with the other great Nintendo 64 classics Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, Cruisin USA, Turok Dinosaur Hunter, Waverace 64, Starfox 64, Kobe Bryant In NBA Courtside, and Diddy Kong Racing as Nintendo Players Choice Million Selling , 39.99$ N64 games. Well, I bet by now you can tell that Goldeneye 007 is a must buy game...well it is, and every N64 owner should have this mega cool, king of all first-person shooters, million selling, platinum quality, video game wonder.
