Mario Kart 64 is one of my favorite games on the N64. I'm not really into racing games that are realistic, I like fun, frantic, arcade, action/racing games, and Mario Kart 64 comes out at the top of my list. Mario Kart is expecially fun in Multiplayer Mode, with two, three, or four players. Although I do wish they added more modes in three and four player (and more tracks in the Battle Mode). Another thing that could have made the game more cooler is that when you opened up the Extra Mode, that you could race on the extra tracks during Time Trials. Another gripe about the Time Trials Mode is that it takes 120 free pages of memery to save only two ghosts, I mean whats up with that, it only takes 90 pages to save a whole game of Turok 2, which is a heck of alot bigger than Mario Kart 64 is (Turok 2 is 256 megabytes, Mario Kart is only a hundred something, 126 I think). Another stupid thing with the Time Trials Mode (seems like all the problems are in Time Trials, huh) is that all your stats and times aren't saved onto the Controller Pak, and that you can only save two ghosts (just thought that I would mention that again). Besides those few gripes, Mario Kart 64 is still a cool and fun action/racing game, and (even though it might seem like it), those few gripes don't really hurt the gameplay much. A pretty solid game overall, that would make a fine edition to any game players N64 library.
